NCB 6.75m units on TTSE – Thursday
The one stock that declined was enough to push the two main indices of the market down sharply. The market closed with the Composite Index falling 5.43 points to close at 1,163.12, the All T&T Index dropping 11.66 points to close at 1,871.55 and the Cross Listed Index advancing by 0.12 points to close at 60.34.

Grace Kennedy gained 14 cents with 3,033 units changing hands to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $5.15 or the equivalent of J$97 compared to $83 the stock traded at in Kingston. National Flour closed with 2,100 shares changing hands with a gain of 2 cents at $1.85, Prestige Holdings traded 6,564 shares as the price rose 12 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $11.12. Scotia Investments closed with a gain of 10 cents at $2 while trading 49,000 shares and West Indian Tobacco traded 130 shares to close at $126.30 after rising 2 cents.
Losses| National Enterprises closed with just 568 shares changing hands at $13 after dropping 99 cents, to close at a 52 weeks’ low.
Firm Trades| Ansa Merchant Bank contributed 100 shares in closing at $38.95, Firstcaribbean International Bank closed with 68,782 units value at $447,083 changing hands at $6.50. 6 TTSE stocks dropped on Wednesday
A sharp 8.3 percent rise in the price of Firstcaribbean International Bank, resulted in the market indices being mixed at the close, with the Composite Index rising 5.38 points to close at 1,168.55, the All T&T Index dropping 2.17 points to close at 1,883.21 and the Cross Listed Index advancing by 1.78 points to close at 60.22.

Scotiabank closed with 523 shares changing hands after falling 1 cent, to end at $59.74, Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 66 cents in trading a mere 13,925 shares to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $18.25 and Trinidad Cement traded 1,000 shares but fell 5 cents to $3.70.

JSE majors dives on Tuesday
Jamaican main market stocks lost much ground on Tuesday, as Cable & Wireless lost 7 percent and Carib Cement 13 percent in value. Declining and advancing stocks were even, at 15 each as 38 securities changed hands, in all market segments. At the close 2 stocks traded at 52 weeks’ intraday highs with 6,931,877 units valued at $84,204,868 changing hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 1,498,582 units changing hands, valued at $7,035,386.
The JSE Market Index dived 2,056.31 points to 153,186.49 the all Jamaica Composite Index dropped 2,298.05 points to end at 170,150.84 and the JSE combined index shed 1,809.09 points to close at 162,629.19.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange continues to struggle in the early morning session on Wednesday with very moderate trading as investors continue to digest results of companies and the impact of the change in government.
After 75 minutes of the market opening, 27 securities traded, accounting for only 1,657,243 shares changing hands. A total of 7 stocks declined and 10 rose.
The all Jamaica Composite Index dived 1,047.22 points to 170,499.09, the JSE Market Index dropped 937.06 points to 153,498.11, the JSE combined index lost 830.99 points to 162,383.22 and the junior market index rose 5.81 points to 1,953.80.
Lasco Distributors traded steady with 763135 at $5.50, Caribbean Cement rose $1.55 with 104,207 shares to trade at $22.05, JMMB Group traded 254,607 units at $10.50, Jamaica Producers traded 40,581 shares but lost $1 to be trading at $29 and Scotia Investments traded 100,000 to recover from $26.63 at the close on Tuesday to $28.
