JSE main market inched higher – Monday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Monday with the All Jamaican Composite Index rising 416.43 points to close at 565,170.03, the JSE Index rose 377.32 points to 514,559.87 and the JSE Financial Index inched 0.37 points to 140.60.
At the close of trading, 7 securities advanced, 12 declined and 14 traded firm as a total of 33 securities in the main and US dollar markets compared to 32 on Friday. Market activity ended with 86,270,254 units valued at $128,945,815, in contrast to 23,486,112 units at $198,066,208 on Friday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 80 million shares for 93 percent of total volume, followed Sagicor Select Fund with 4.6 million units accounting for 5 percent of the day’s trade and Supreme Ventures with 296,337 shares for less than 1 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 2,875,675 units valued at an average of $4,298,194 for each security traded. In contrast to 671,032 units for an average of $5,659,034 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 899,570 units valued at $6,472,327 and previously 744,783 units valued at $6,659,753 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

In main market activity, Caribbean Cement lost $3 to end at $80 with 6,658 stock units trading. JMMB Group lost $1.70 to settle at $47.20 with 19,065 shares changing hands. Mayberry Jamaican Equities gained 50 cents to end at $12.50, after trading 1,200 shares, NCB Financial dropped $4 to end at $209, with an exchange of 28,586 stock units. Seprod gained $3 to settle at $56.50 with 112,050 shares changing hands, Sygnus Credit Investments declined $2 in trading 13,779 shares at $23 and Wisynco Group closed trading of 101,447 units and gained $1.50 to end at $24.50.
Trading in the US dollar market ended with 5,850 units valued at US$1,736. Proven Investments traded 3,600 units and gained 1 cent to end at 26 US cents followed by Sygnus Credit Investments with 2,000 units changing hands at 15 US cents and JMMB Group 5.5% preference shares with 250 units to settle at US$2. The JSE USD Equities Index gained 3.74 points to close at 194.45.

Majority of TTSE stocks closed firm

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Monday with trading in 16 securities against 13 on Friday, with 2 advancing, 2 declining and 12 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index lost 0.98 points to end at 1,390.85. The All T&T Index fell 1.44 points to 1,748.55, while the Cross Listed Index declined 0.07 points to close at 139.98.
Trading ended with just 43,050 shares at a value of $1,201,598, compared to 291,395 shares at a value of $6,173,837 shares on Friday.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with 5 stocks closing with the bids higher than the last selling prices and 2 with lower offers.

National Flour ended at $1.68 with 3,474 units changing hands, NCB Financial completed trading of 48 units at $10.40, One Caribbean Media settled at $10, with 607 units crossing the exchange, Sagicor Financial ended at $10.20, with an exchange of 1,630 stock units. Scotiabank ended at $58.60, with an exchange of 3,284 units, Trinidad Cement settled at $2.10, trading 2,700 stock units and West Indian Tobacco completed trading at $105, with an exchange of 508 stock shares.

JSE main market index rise – Friday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Friday with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index rising 1,052.67 points to 564,753.60 even as declining stocks exceeded those rising.
The JSE Index climbed 890.78 points to 514,182.55 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.24 points to close at 140.23. At the close of trading, 9 advanced, 13 declined and 14 traded firm as  36 securities in the main and US market compared to 37 on Thursday. Trading in the main market ended with 23,486,112 units valued at $198,066,208, in contrast to 18,740,935 units valued at over $117,219,686 on Thursday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 11.6 million shares for 49 percent of total volume, followed Sagicor Select Fund with 9 million units accounting for 39 percent of the day’s trade and NCB Financial Group with 553,993 shares for 2 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 671,032 units valued at an average of $5,659,034 for each security traded. In contrast to 506,512 units for an average of $3,168,100 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 744,783 units valued at $6,659,753 and units previously 752,201 units valued at $6,771,654 for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

JMMB Group gained 90 cents to settle at $48.90 with 364,022 shares changing hands. Mayberry Investments lost 49 cents to end at $8.81 with 185,343 stock units trading, Mayberry Jamaican Equities shed 48 cents to end at $12, trading 21,617 shares, MPC Caribbean Energy gained $22.66 to end at all-time high of $153.06, in trading 520 shares, NCB Financial rose $4 to end at $213, with an exchange of 553,993 stock units. Sagicor Group fell $1.49 to settle at $71.01 with 6,406 shares changing hands, Salada Foods fell 50 cents to close at $32 with an exchange of 3,571 shares, Seprod lost 50 cents to settle at $54 with 64,415 shares changing hands and Sygnus Credit Investments rose $1 in trading 214,718 shares at $25.
The JSE USD Equities Index closed at 190.71 as Sygnus Credit Investments was the only stock trading in the market with 190,000 units valued at US$28,500 to close at 15 US cents.

Firm Trades| Clico Investment Fund closed at $24.15, with 56,139 stock units trading, Guardian Holdings ended trading at $18.10, with 2,510 stock units changing hands, JMMB Group ended at $2.25, after exchanging 41,614 shares. More declines for JSE main market – Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Thursday with The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index dropping 4,474.99 points to end at 563,700.93, the JSE Index declined by 3,932.73 points to 513,291.77.
The JSE Financial Index fell 1.84 points to close at 139.99. At the close of trading, 17 advanced, 15 declined and 5 traded firm as a total of 39 securities traded in the main and US markets compared to 36 securities trading on Wednesday. Market activity ended with 18,740,935 units valued at over $117,219,686, in contrast to 50,725,660 units valued at $109,446,038 on Wednesday.
Sagicor Select Fund led trading with 11.8 million shares for 63 percent of total volume, followed Wigton Windfarm with 3 million units accounting for 16 percent of the day’s trade and JMMB Group 7.50% preference share with 1 million shares for 5 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 506,512 units valued at an average of $3,168,100 for each security traded. In contrast to 1,449,305 units for an average of $3,127,030 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 752,201 units valued at $6,771,654 and previously 781,431 units valued at an average of $7,254,739.

Traded in the US dollar market ended with 9,585 units valued at $9,015 trading and ended with JMMB Group 6% preference share with a gain of 1 cent to end at US$1.01 trading 8,615 shares and Proven Investments trading 970 shares rose to settle at 25 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index declined by 3.74 points to close at 190.71.

Near 50% of TTSE stocks rose – Thursday

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange resulted in a near 50 percent dominance of stocks gaining at the close of trading on Thursday but on sharply reduced trading volumes.
At the close, 15 securities changed hands against 14 on Wednesday and ended with 7 advancing, 2 declining and 6 remaining unchanged and leading to 141,949 shares valued $1,220,367 crossing the exchange compared to 231,149 shares valued $4,007,898 on Wednesday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index increased 2.06 points to 1,390.62. The All T&T Index rose 1.37 points to 1,747.92, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.38 points to close at 140.01.

More decline for JSE main market – Wednesday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market closed down on Wednesday, with advancing outpaced by declining stocks for the second consecutive day as some investors seek cash to buy into a new IPO that is on offer in the market.
The market ended, with 36 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 11 advancing, 15 declining and 10 trading to close with no price change, compared to 35 securities trading on Tuesday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 560.38 points to close at 568,175.92, the JSE Index shed 594.41 points to 517,224.50 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.24 points to end at 141.83.
Market activity led to 50,725,660 units valued at $109,446,038 changing hands, in contrast to 25,607,960 units valued at $336,490,907 crossing the main market on Tuesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 30.8 million shares for 61 percent of total volume, followed by Sagicor Select Fund with 10.4 million units accounting for 21 percent of the day’s trade and JMMB Group 7.5% preference share with 6.7 million shares for 12 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average of 1,449,305 units valued at an average of $3,127,030 for each security traded. In contrast to 800,249 units valued at an average of $10,515,341 on Tuesday, for each security traded on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 81,431 shares valued at $7,254,739 for every security traded, compared to 696,737 shares valued at $7,854,199 for each security traded. JMMB Group added $1.45 to settle at $49.45 with an exchange of 39,868 units, NCB Financial slipped $1.95 to end at $212.05, with an exchange of 65,234 stock units, Pulse Investments lost 50 cents to close at $2.90 while just 2,400 shares were exchanged, Sagicor Group exchanged 21,005 shares after declining by 35 cents to end at $72.50, Sygnus Credit Investments gained 40 cents in trading 67,351 shares at $22 and Wisynco traded 290,312 shares but lost $2.501 to close at $22.
Trading in the US securities market resulted in 1,000,000 units valued at US$150,000 changing hands with Sygnus Credit Investments being the sole stock trading to close at 15 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index rose 0.09 points to end at 194.45.

Falling TTSE stocks dominate gainers

 Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange fell on Wednesday with just 231,149 shares valued $4,007,898 crossing the exchange compared to 212,987 shares valued $3,035,824 on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 14 securities changing hands, similar to the number traded on Wednesday and closed with 2 advancing, 4 declining and 8 remaining unchanged.
At close of the market, the Composite Index rose 0.51 points to 1,388.56. The All T&T Index fell 1.00 points to 1,746.55, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.28 points to close at 139.63.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market closed higher on Tuesday, with advancing outpaced by declining stocks two to one.
The market ended, with 35 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 8 advancing, 18 declining and 9 unchanged, compared to 37 securities trading on Friday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index advanced 944.53 points to close at 568,736.30, the JSE Index gained 594.41 points to 517,224.50 and the JSE Financial Index rose 1.06 points to end at 141.59.
Market activity lead to 25,607,960 units valued at $336,490,907 changing hands, in contrast to 25,996,401 units valued $339,872,230 crossing the main market on Monday.
Supreme Ventures led trading with 10 million shares for 39 percent of total volume, followed Wigton Windfarm with 7 million units accounting for 27 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Fund with 6.7 million shares for 26 percent of the main market’s volume as the price closed at an all-time low of $1.17.
Trading closed with an average of 800,249 units valued at an average of $10,515,341 for each security traded. In contrast to 764,600 units for an average of $9,996,242 on Monday, for each security traded on Friday. Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange fell on Tuesday with just 212,987 shares valued $3,035,824 crossing the exchange compared to 646,364 shares valued $5,954,527 on Monday.
Trading ended with 14 securities changing hands compared to 18 on Monday and closed with 5 advancing, 5 declining and 4 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index lost 1.50 points to 1,388.05. The All T&T Index fell 0.94 points to 1,747.55, while the Cross Listed Index slipped 0.29 points to close at 139.35.
