The JSE Market Index shed 301.69 points to 132,432.68 the all Jamaica Composite Index gained 337.15 points to end at 146,957.28 and JSE combined index dipped 859.23 points to end at 138,361.33.

In trading, Barita Investments closed at a new 52 weeks’ high of $3.66 while trading 61,000 shares to end at with a gain of 16 cents, after trading at $4, Berger Paints dropped jumped 80 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $3.80 after 207,422 shares were traded. Cable and Wireless recover some lost grounds and gained 15 cents, with 2,120,843 shares changing hands. On the offer were 39,129 shares at 95 cents with bid in at 86 cents to buy 79,702 units. Caribbean Cement rose 10 cents to end at $18.10, with 183,769 shares changing hands. Cable and Wireless was the dominant trade on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday as bulls continued their rampage and pushed the market to yet another record high of 144,941.37 points after adding 1,786.99 points on the all the all Jamaica Composite Index. The Jamaica telecom giant, traded nearly 8 million units, just under two thirds of the volume traded for the day.
A total of 13 stocks rose, 16 declined as 37 securities, totalling 12,318,211 units valued at $44,798,394 changed hands, in all market segments. A total of 6 stocks ended at 52 weeks’ closing highs and one at a 52 weeks’ low. The JSE Market Index shot up 1,599.02 points to 13,628.83, a new closing high. JSE combined index climbed 1,437.67, points to end at a new closing high of 134,837.57.

Scotia Group ended with 74,384 shares trading closed at $26 after falling by 50 cents, Supreme Ventures ended at $3.81 with 78,000 units changing hands and lost 9 cents and Proven Investments ordinary share closed with a small loss 67,987 units traded to end at 23.98 US cents.

Huge jump in Jamaican stocks on Friday

The strong move was aided by a $5.07 jump in the price of Desnoes and Geddes shares and gains in National Commercial Bank which ended at $32.99. The market climbed sharply for the third day as advancing stocks outpaced declining ones by a wide margin once more.

Not many more securities traded after resumption, but 19 million Gleaner shares changed hands, 18,996,993 units were bought through Victoria Mutual Wealth Management and sold by Mayberry Investments from house inventory at 3:17:44 PM with a value of $36,094,287.
Trading ended with just 23 securities changing hands as 23,173,353 units, valued at $96,919,052 were exchanged. At the end 13 stocks gained, compared to only 2 on Wednesday and 4 declined in all market segments.

At the close, the JSE Market Index jumped 687.52 points to 101,415.34, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 768.46 points to close at 112,294.07 and the JSE combined index gained 530.40 points to end at 104,839.62.

At the close, the JSE Market Index dropped 80.85 points to 100,727.82, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index shed 90.37 points to close at 111,525.61 and the JSE combined index dipped 54.59 points to end at 104,309.22.

In trading, Berger Paints had 27,080 shares changing hands with a gain of 5 cents to end at $2.60, Carreras dropped $1.50 to $50 with 157,969 shares changing hands, Gleaner closed with 70,665 shares and gained 2 cents at $2.73 after the price had fallen in the morning session to $2.30. Hardware & Lumber ended up at $16, after adding $1 with 13,500 units changing hands. Jamaica Producers traded at $19 with 100,000 shares changing ownership. JSE fn Qts-17-08-15JMMB Group traded 12,000 shares up to $7.99 to gain 19 cents, with the company reporting strong increase in profit for the first quarter, National Commercial Bank traded 99,530 shares at $30 while losing 10 cents. Pulse Investments lost 10 cents in trading 57,000 shares to end at 35 cents, Radio Jamaica traded 27,440 shares to end at $4, with a gain of 5 cents, Sagicor Group ended trading with 1,770,848 units at $13, Sagicor Real Estate Fund lost 20 cents to close at $8.10 while trading 23,990 units. Scotia Group did not trade but had a bid at $24.51 that is higher than the last selling price of $24 and Scotia Investments traded 9,157 with decline of 69 cents to $27.30.
