$1 for Dolla IPO

The latest IPO for a Junior Market listing is now out, with Dolla Financial Services, a company that is involved in the business of short term lending, with is set to sell 500 million Ordinary Shares at $1 each to the public, with the offer including  250 million newly issued Ordinary shares and the sale of 250 million existing Ordinary Shares by the Selling shareholders.
The 2021 financial statements show a total income of $395 million and a profit of $168 million before tax. Currently, the number of issued shares is 2.25 billion units, with earnings per share of 7 cents per share. Results for March 2022 show revenues of $141 million compared to $64 million in 2021, with a profit of $66 million, up from $17 million in 2021. For the full year earnings should hit the $300 million mark with earnings per share of 20 cents per share with a PE ratio of 5, compared to 13 for the overall Junior Market.
The Company intends to use the anticipated proceeds of the invitation of $250 million to expand its loan portfolio regionally through acquisitions and organic growth and strengthen its capital base. It currently operates eight branches in Jamaica and one in Guyana and has an equity base of $373 million, the issue if successful will take equity to just over $600 million.
The issue opens on May 27, 2022. Victoria Mutual Wealth Management, the receiving agent for the purposes of the Invitation.

JSE trades over $1.36B in early session – Friday

Trading on the Jamaica stock exchange surged on Friday to more than $1.36 billion with stockbrokers, Victoria Mutual Wealth Management (VMW), crossing a series of stocks that dominated trading. By 10:45 am the market indices slipped slightly for the main market and rose moderately for juniors as 13 stocks gaining versus 8 that fell.
The main traded done by VMW are 10,156,665 National Commercial Bank shares at $41.22 in two lots on behalf of clients shortly after trading opened on the Jamaica Stock Market on Friday morning. JSE Intra - 19-08-16Other stocks crossed by VMW are CAC 2000 with 813,386 units at $6.01, JMMB Group with 9,170,806 units at $9.88, Portland JSX 10,000,000 units at $11.49 and Sagicor Group with 6,513,985 units at $21.97 and Sweet River Abattoir with 4,664,000 units at $3.84. Sterling Investments 2,668,905 units at $13.01, Others stocks crossed by VMW include Jamaica Public Service 9.5% preference share with 99,931 units at $1,247, Lasco Distributors 8,055,942 at $7.02, Lasco Manufacturing 7,592,810 shares at $4.94, Scotia Group with 8,528,008 units at $31.70 and Scotia Investments with 1,025,875 shares at $26.
At 10:45 am 30 securities traded, resulting in a volume of 71,959,810 shares changing hands. The large trades done VMW accounted for more than $850 million in the value of trading in the early morning session. The average number of shares traded amounts to 2,248,744 units compared to 37,167 units on Thursday.
The all Jamaica Composite Index fell 122.62 points to 180,511.47 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index slipped 109.65 points to 162,451.12, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index lost 62.71 points to close at 173,704.85 and the junior market index rose 3.80 points to 2,243.59.

Gleaner trades 19m shares on JSE

Glnr 8-15 Market activity was halted on the Jamaica Stock Exchange due to technical issues that occurred around mid-day a Jamaica Stock Exchange source indicated to IC Insider. Trading resumed at 3 PM and closed at 3:30.
Not many more securities traded after resumption, but 19 million Gleaner shares changed hands, 18,996,993 units were bought through Victoria Mutual Wealth Management and sold by Mayberry Investments from house inventory at 3:17:44 PM with a value of $36,094,287.
Trading ended with just 23 securities changing hands as 23,173,353 units, valued at $96,919,052 were exchanged. At the end 13 stocks gained, compared to only 2 on Wednesday and 4 declined in all market segments.
JSE Sum -10- 9-15The JSE Market Index rose 2.14 points to 98,798.05, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index added only 2.40 points to 109,368.67 and the JSE combined index gained 52.07 points to end at 102,111.65.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator had a reading of 9 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 5 with offers that were lower.
In trading, Cable and Wireless had 1,263,154 shares changing hands to close at 48 cents, down 2 cents, Carreras traded 379,430 units at $50.25, gaining 25 cents from Wednesday’s close, Gleaner Company traded 19 million units in two trades at $1.90, after adding 5 cents. Jamaica Broilers traded at $5.90 at the end with 66,961 shares changing ownership JSE fn qts 10-9-15after gaining 30 cents. Jamaica Producers added $1.90 to $18 with 171,230 units trading. The Jamaica Stock Exchange shares added 5 cents with 8,465 shares changing hands at $7.55, JMMB Group had 52,374 shares changing hands at $7.65, National Commercial Bank traded 136,629 shares and closed at $30, Sagicor Group with 22,400 shares changing hands, closed at $12.70 with a 20 cents increase. Scotia Group traded 134,944 units in closing at $24.12 for an increased just 2 cents and Proven Investments ordinary share, traded 1,208,025 units at 19.5 US cents after losing 0.05 cents.

Activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, resulted in 23 securities changing hands and ending with 4,735,155 units trading, valued at $24,434,254, in all market segments. National Commercial Bank, closed at a new 52 weeks’ high of $26.50 with 301,200 shares changing hands at 50 cents higher than on Tuesday and ahead of the company reporting six months results and dividend payment on Thursday.
JSE 22-4-15 Main Market| The JSE Market Index gained 474.33 points to 86,299.76, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 530.32 points to close at 95,205.43 and the JSE combined index gained 446.19 points to close at 87,994.37.
Cable & Wireless with 256,932 units traded at 52 cents and ended with the bid at 53 cents to buy 100,000 shares. Ciboney Group traded 2,000,000 shares at 6, Desnoes & Geddes gained 10 cents and traded 29,400 at $6 with an offer at $6.50 at the close. Grace Kennedy with 19,224 shares that traded closed at 90 cents higher at $63, Jamaica Broilers had 86,530 shares trading to close at $4.70,
JMMB Group traded 855,593 ordinary shares for 38 cents higher at $7.48. The stock had JMMB Securities on the offer selling 268,800 units at $7.48, 5000 units at $7.50 and 34,655 shares at $8.50 as the lowest offers posted at the end of trading.The broker posted small buy orders from $7.03 to $7.10. Victoria Mutual Wealth Management sold the bulk of the shares to trade with Sagiocr Investments being the major buyer of them.
Radio Jamaica traded 13,372 shares at $2 to gain 25 cents, Sagicor Group traded 66,350 shares JSE  qts 22-4-15to close at $10.55 while gaining 10 cents in the process but traded as high as $10.75 before the close. Sagicor Real Estate X Fund had 529,519 units changing hands to close at $6.50, after shedding 25 cents. Salada Foods traded 35,480 at $9, Scotia Group saw 118,289 units, closing at $22, Supreme Ventures 19,900 units traded 4 cents higher at $2.84 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share, traded 317,331 units at $3.20 with an increase of 10 cents.

JSE Ghp 10-4-15The last trade of Supreme Ventures took place on Friday April 10 at 12:56:23, less than five minutes before trading closed. The official trading data showed the trade as valid but the 1,435 shares that were involved took place at $2.31 with a value of just $3,314.85, but the fall was outside of the price movement restriction of 15 percent from the opening price placed on stocks.
The trade was not valid and was cancelled sometime after trading closed, but not before the stock exchange reported the results for the public. The shares were sold by Sagicor Investments with the buying broker being Victoria Mutual Wealth Management traded on behalf of clients.
The stock exchange rules will permit daily price movements of 30 percent but there would be initial freeze of one hour if the attempted price exceeds 15 percent from the opening price. For further trading in the stock to be effected would have required an hour to elapse before the trade could take place.in the case of the above trade, there would be no time left in trading for the stock to resume trading. As a result of the cancellation of the trade, the closing price for Supreme Ventures officially ended at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.95.
The changes meant that JSE index ended at 85,647.64 instead of the 85,620.15 originally reported, The all Jamaica composite was reported at 94,445.60, is in fact 94,476.33 and the combined index reported as closing at 87,355.58 in fact ended at 87,381.44. The volume traded is marginally adjusted down to 9,744,758 units and the value $155,258,896 and resulted in the prices of 6 stocks rising 8 declining and 7 trading firm.
JSE sum upd 10-4-15The market was closing at the highest level for 2015 and the highest level since mid-May 2012, based on the all Jamaica Composite Index which is up 12 percent since the end of 2014. The local market seems heading towards the next major resistance level around 99,000 point which is less than 5,000 points away. Breaking the resistance level is important but it is the ability to take out the resistance level and move further up wards that more important if the rally is to be sustained.
