Market activity ended on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the volume of stocks traded rising above Thursday by 77 percent, with 136 percent greater value, resulting in 16 securities trading, compared to 22 on Thursday, with prices of six stocks rising, six declining and four remaining unchanged.
A total of 799,836 shares were traded for $5,621,792 versus 452,813 units at $2,383,509 on Thursday. An average of 49,990 units were exchanged at $351,362 compared to 20,582 shares at $108,341 on Thursday, with trading month to date averaging 32,964 units at $210,695. The average trade for August amounts to 40,829 at $378,385.
The Composite Index shed 9.19 points to 1,364.60, the All T&T Index fell 2.42 points to 2,030.61 and the Cross-Listed Index dipped 2.30 points to settle at 91.25.

Investors pushed trading of stock sharply higher on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 85 percent and the value 24 percent more than on Wednesday, resulting in 16 securities traded compared to 23 on Wednesday, with four rising, two declining and ten remaining unchanged.
Investors traded 1,165,311 shares for $7,899,578 versus 629,483 units at $6,392,446 on Wednesday. An average of 72,832 units were traded at $493,724 compared to 27,369 shares at $277,932 on Wednesday, with trading month to date averaging 43,584 units at $407,850 versus 42,060 units at $403,375 on the previous trading day. The average trade for July amounts to 28,304 units at $283,023.
The Composite Index declined 6.33 points to 1,368.82, the All T&T Index climbed 2.47 points to 2,036.67 and the Cross-Listed Index shed 2.21 points to end at 91.56.

Trading surged sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, as two Jamaican stocks traded in high volume, resulting in the overall volume of stocks traded rising a massive 3,255 percent with the value jumping 2861 percent more than on Thursday.

First Citizens Group accounted for 64 percent of the value traded on Friday.

First Citizens Group had an exchange of 735,498 stock units for $36,791,387, amounting to 64 percent of the total market value for the day, GraceKennedy traded 1,715,846 shares for $9,474,540 and JMMB Group’s 4,132,379 shares that were traded cost $9,504,503.
