TTSE ekes out meagre gains

Market activity ended on Thursday on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, with the volume of stocks traded declining by 77 percent with a 44 percent lower value than on Wednesday, after 23 securities were exchanged, up from 19 on Wednesday, with seven rising, four declining and 12 unchanged. 
The Composite Index slipped 0.11 points to 1,436.32, the All T&T Index shed 1.21 points to end at 2,065.70 and the Cross-Listed Index popped 0.15 points to 106.81.
A total of 422,610 shares traded for $8,283,659, down from 1,828,172 units at $14,783,127 on Wednesday. An average of 18,374 units traded at $360,159 versus 96,220 shares at $778,107 on Wednesday, with trading month to date averaging 45,989 units at $414,357 versus 53,192 units at $460,151. The average trade for April amounts to 43,127 units at $458,871.

More TTSE stocks fall than rise

Stock prices mainly were pushed lower at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with the volume of stocks traded just slipping, as the value rose 17 percent over Tuesday trade.
As was the case on Tuesday, 19 securities traded on Wednesday, with two rising, five declining and 12 ending unchanged. The Composite Index climbed 8.99 points to 1,436.43, the All T&T Index increased 4.36 points to 2,066.91 and the Cross-Listed Index gained 1.95 points to end at 106.66.
Investors exchanged 1,828,172 shares for $14,784,037 versus 1,897,307 units at $12,592,066 on Tuesday. An average of 96,220 units traded at $778,107 compared to 99,858 shares at $662,740 on Tuesday, with trading month to date averaging 50,951 units at $424,096 versus 43,060 units at $362,388. The average trade for April amounts to 43,127 units at $458,871.

Market activity ended on Thursday on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and resulted in more stocks rising than falling at the close of trading, declining after the volume of stocks trading dropped 30 percent, with a 25 percent lower value than on Wednesday.
Nineteen securities traded up from 16 on Wednesday, with eight stocks rising, three declining and eight closing unchanged.
The Composite Index rose 4.98 points to 1,438.45, the All T&T Index gained 9.44 points to close at 2,076.73 and the Cross-Listed Index added 0.03 points to end at 105.79.
A total of 518,869 shares traded for $5,342,898 compared to 741,482 units at $7,081,772 on Wednesday. Trading surged on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange with 91 percent more shares, carrying a 374 percent higher value on Thursday over Wednesday as First Citizens Group accounted for just under $20 million of the trades, with the market closing with more stocks rising stocks than falling.

The volume of stocks trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange surged 81 percent with 61 percent higher value than on Wednesday as market activity ended on Thursday and resulted in declining stocks just edging out those rising, but the two main indices rose.  
A total of 19 securities were traded, down from 21 on Wednesday and ended with six rising, seven declining and six ending unchanged. NCB Financial ended at another 52 weeks’ low at the close. The Composite Index rose 4.80 points to 1,455.20, the All T&T Index gained 19.00 points to close at 2,109.44 and the Cross-Listed Index shed 1.46 points to end at 105.74.
A total of 772,155 shares traded for $9,128,376 compared to  426,637 units at $5,652,647 on Wednesday.
