Trading ended with 235 percent more shares passing through the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday than on Friday and closed, with the market rising after more stocks gained than declined.

The market closed with seventeen securities trading with six stocks advancing, four declining and seven unchanged.  Market activity led to 490,995 shares valued at $5,458,075 changing hands compared to 151,140 shares for $2,448,131 from 18 securities on Friday.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 28,882 units at $321,063 versus an average of 8,397 stock units for $136,007 for each security. Trading ended, with an average of 11,535 units for the month to date, at $128,385 compared to 10,356 units at $135,151. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index squeezed out a rise of 0.64 points to end at 1,314.90, the All T&T Index inched 0.48 points up to 1,793.98, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.11 points to close at 112.95.

Declining TTSE stocks dominate market

Stock prices tumbled on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the market declining after investors traded 183 percent more shares than on Wednesday after the market closed for the public holiday on Thursday.

Falling stocks push TTSE down Wednesday

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Wednesday, with the market declining after investors swapped 42 percent more shares than on Tuesday, resulting in declining stocks outnumbering rising ones two to one.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with four stocks advancing, eight declining and five unchanged.  Trading resulted in 190,298 shares passing through the market valued at $3,240,340 compared to 134,360 shares for $3,706,470 on Tuesday from 12 securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 11,194 units at $190,608 versus an average of 11,197 stock units for $308,872 for each security.  For the months to date, the average trade amounted to 11,395 units at $147,215 compared to 11,418 shares at $142,394 on Tuesday. In contrast, August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index dropped 4.27 points to 1,320.88. The All T&T Index tumbled 8.69 points to 1,788.79, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 to close at 115.22.

Trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday resulted in a 138 percent jump in volume, with 90 percent more value above Monday’s levels but the overall market dipped moderately.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, seven declining and six companies’ shares closing unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 85,316 shares valued at $1,386,510 compared to 35,937 shares for $727,964 on Monday from 20 securities.
The average trade on Tuesday amounted to 5,332 units at $86,657 versus an average of 1,797 stock units for $36,398 for each security. The number of securities trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday jumped to 20, but the volume of shares trading dropped to just six percent of Friday’s and led to the market rising.
