The majority of stocks trading held their prices at the close of the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday with the market declining after an exchange of 81 percent fewer shares and 37 percent lesser value than on Wednesday.
At the close of trading six securities changing hands compared to four on Wednesday and ended with the price of one declining and five remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index shed 0.92 points to 189.75. The average PE Ratio is 13.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 43,326 shares, for US$14,347 compared to 228,031 units at US$22,823 on Wednesday. The daily trade averaged 7,221 units at US$2,391, compared to 57,008 shares at US$5,706 on Wednesday. Trading ended with an average of 47,912 units for the month to date at US$4,809, in contrast to 51,083 units at US$4,998. October averaged 697,808 units for US$17,320.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows one stock ending with a higher bid than the last selling price and none with lower offers.
At the close of trading, Margaritaville closed at 13 US cents, trading 524 shares, Productive Business Solutions remained at 66 US cents, with an exchange of 29 units. Proven Investments ended at 25 US cents after a transfer of 22,692 shares, Sygnus Credit Investments remained at 15.50 US cents trading 8,753 stock units and Transjamaican Highway lost 0.03 of a cent to settle at 0.90 of 1 US cent with an exchange of 4,500 units.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 6% preference share closed at US$1.05, after exchanging 6,828 units.
