Trinidad stocks revert to declining ways

Stocks listed on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, reverted on Wednesday, to the recent pattern of falling prices after posting gains on Tuesday. At the close, the T&T Composite Index advanced 9.73 points to 1,267.40, while the All T&T Index dropped 7.32 points to end at 1,668.88 and the Cross Listed Index gained 3.68 points to close at 117.18.
The market closed with three stocks rising, four declining, while five stocks closed unchanged. Trading volume passing through the market was 122,510 shares valued at $2,132,461 compared to 128,175 shares for $6,531,309 on Tuesday.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Gainers│ Guardian Holdings added 4 cents to close at $18.10, with 1,113 units changing hands, NCB Financial jumped 50 cents to finish at $8, with 50,000 shares crossing the market. The stock rose ahead of the release of the 2020 second-quarter results due next week Thursday and Scotiabank closed 15 cents higher at $54.75, after trading 25 stock units.
Losers│ Massy Holdings fell by $1.49 to $48.50, in exchanging 23,720 shares, National Enterprises shed 35 cents trading 4,700 units and closed at a 52 weeks’ low if $4.15. Republic Financial Holdings ended at $133, with a loss of 5 cents after swapping 98 stock units and Trinidad & Tobago NGL closed 9 cents lower at $16.90 after transferring 15,195 shares.
Firm Trades│ First Citizens Bank closed at $39, with an exchange of 5,096 units, JMMB Group transferred 20,800 shares at $2, Prestige Holdings traded 60 stock units at $7.50, Unilever Caribbean exchanged 1,506 units at $17.95 and West Indian Tobacco was unchanged at $30.90, with 197 units crossing the market.

TTSE inched higher on Tuesday

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange closed with a higher volume of shares trading than on Monday but with lower valuation and leading the market indices to inch higher at the close.
The market close withy the T&T Composite Index rising 0.58 points to 1,257.67. The All T&T Index gained 1.15 points to end at 1,676.20 while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 113.50.
The market closed with two stocks rising, five stocks declining, while four were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market was 128,175 shares valued at $6,531,309 compared to 221,215 shares for $2,136,051 on Monday.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of xxx stocks higher than their last selling prices and xxx with lower offers.
Gainers│ Guardian Holdings rose 11 cents to close at $18.06, in trading 3,137 units and One Caribbean Media ended at $6.52, with a gain of 2 cents with 5,000 shares changing hands.
Losers│ Clico Investments shed 15 cents exchanging 205 stock units and closed at $24.75, First Caribbean International fell by 19 cents to $7.50, in swapping 525 stock units, Republic Financial Holdings closed at $133.05, with a loss of $1.95 after 25,639 shares crossed the exchange. Trinidad & Tobago NGL lost 5 cents to finish at $16.95, with 1,473 units changing hands and Unilever Caribbean ended 7 cents lower at a 52 weeks’ low of $17.95, after trading 494 stock units.
Firm Trades│ First Citizens Bank transferred 13,817 shares at $39, Massy Holdings exchanged 2,478 stock units at $49.99, National Enterprises closed at $4.50, trading 102 units traded and West Indian Tobacco was unchanged at $30.90, in swapping 75,305 shares.

No rising stock on TTSE – Monday

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed down on Monday without any stock gaining as five stocks declined and, while seven closed unchanged.
At the close, the T&T Composite Index declined 5.59 points to 1,257.09, the All T&T Index dropped 11.10 points to end at 1,675.05 while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.50.
The volume of stocks passing through the market fell to 221,215 shares valued at $2,136,051 from 1,005,498 shares for $14,272,854 on Friday.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Losers│ First Citizens lost 1 cent exchanging 8,774 stock units to close at $39, Massy Holdings dipped 1 cent to finish at $49.99, with the transfer of 15,333 shares, National Flour fell to a 52 weeks’ low of $1.06, after losing 14 cents trading 151,500 shares. Republic Financial Holdings shed 50 cents in exchanging 241 units to close at $135 and Trinidad & Tobago NGL closed at $17, with a loss of 10 cents with 5,716 stock units changing hands.
Firm Trades│ Agostini’s traded 50 units at $24, Angostura Holdings closed at $14, with 22,039 shares crossing the exchange, Ansa McAL exchanged 100 units at $54.49. Ansa Merchant Bank swapped 1,394 units at $36.30, JMMB Group traded 1,218 units to close at $2, Prestige Holdings traded 3,859 stock units at $7.50 and West Indian Tobacco remained at $30.90 trading 10,991 shares.

The volume and value of stocks trading picked up on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with Angostura Holdings trading more than 870,000 shares worth $12 million.
The volume of stocks passing through the market climbed to 1,005,498 units valued at $14,272,854 from the trading 12 securities, compared to 109,579 shares for $7,714,973 from 14 securities on Thursday. The market closed with two stocks rising and one declining, while nine were unchanged with the T&T Composite Index gaining 2.20 points to end at 1,262.68. The All T&T Index rose advanced by 4.36 points to end at 1,686.15 while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.50.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of eight stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Gainers│ First Citizens added 51 cents to close at $39.01 in exchanging 1,700 units and Republic Financial Holdings ended at $$135.50, with a rise of 50 cents in trading 220 stock units.
Losers│ Clico Investments shed 20 cents to finish at $24.90, after the transfer of 197 stock units.

Modest gains for the TTSE

Trading volume and value rose at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday as advancing stocks edged out falling stocks, leaving the leading market indices to close with modest gains.
At the close, the T&T Composite Index gained 0.03 points to 1,260.48. The All T&T Index rose 0.06 points to end at 1,681.79 while the Cross Listed Index was unchanged at 113.50.
The market closed with four stocks rising and three securities declining, while seven were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market climbed to 109,579 shares valued at $7,714,973 compared to 82,289 shares for $1,775,994 on Wednesday.

TTSE record modest gains on Tuesday

Fresh from the closure of the market for the Easter holiday break, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange posted mostly gains at the close but with limited trading levels.
The T&T Composite Index gained 1.38 points to 1,257.18. The All T&T Index rose 2.75 points to end at 1,692.16 while the Cross Listed Index was unchanged at 111.16.
The market closed with six stocks rising and one declining, while five were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market declined to 235,502 shares valued at $5,767,134 compared to 329,414 shares for $1,512,063 on Thursday.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Gainers│ Clico Investments rose 58 cents to $25.30, trading 53,199 shares, First Citizens gained 15 cents transferring 1,514 stock units and closed at $38.15 and Guardian Holdings ended at $18, after picking up 5 cents and exchanging 6,506 units. National Flour gained 5 cents after swapping 92,283 shares to finish at $1.20, Scotiabank added 10 cents and closed at $54.60, trading 1,218 stock units and Trinidad & Tobago NGL climbed 99 cents to $19.50, with 39,090 shares changing hands.
Losers│ Calypso Macro Index Fund shed 12 cents to end at $15.88, with 130 stock units crossing the market.
Firm Trades│ JMMB Group ended the day at $2, with an exchange of 2,000 units, Massy Holdings remained at $50, in transferring 7,650 stock units, Prestige Holdings swapped 65 units at $7.90. Republic Financial Holdings traded unchanged at $135, with 18,717 shares changing hands and West Indian Tobacco closed at $30.90, with 13,130 stock units crossing the market.

TTSE slippage slows to a crawl

The sharp slippage in the Trinidad and Tobago stock exchange since March has slowed to a crawl in the past two days, with the market giving up just 3.63 points in the last two days after the All TTSE rose a mere 1.55 points on Thursday.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 3.97 points to 1,255.80. The All T&T Index gained 1.55 points to end at 1,689.41 while the Cross Listed Index lost 1.30 points to 111.16.
The market closed with three stocks rising and four stocks declining of which three ended at 52 weeks’ lows, while seven stocks were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market fell to 329,414 shares valued at $1,512,063 compared to 615,324 shares for $9,462,933 on Wednesday.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock market continues to slide and closed trading on Wednesday, with a modest slippage in the market index as declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones.
The T&T Composite Index slipped 2.61 points to 1,259.77. The All T&T Index declined by 5.18 points to end at 1,687.86 while the Cross Listed Index remained at 112.46.
The market closed with three stocks rising and five stocks declining, while six were unchanged while two closed at 52 weeks’ lows. The volume of stocks passing through the market climbed to 615,324 shares valued at $9,462,933 compared to 279,123 shares for $3,953,256 on Tuesday.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange slipped at the close of trading on Tuesday to continue the slide that started early March as oil-dependent Trinidad & Tobago faces significant economic challenges with the price trading well under US$30 on the world market.
The T&T Composite Index slid 3.68 points to 1,262.38. The All T&T Index declined by 5.32 points to end at 1,693.04 while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.27 points to close at 112.46.
The market closed with two stocks rising and five stocks declining, while six were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market rose to 279,123 shares valued at $3,953,256 compared to 200,057 shares for $7,534,924 on Monday.

Slide continues for Trinidad stocks

T&TSE gave back all of 2019 gains in less than four months.

The Trinidad and Tobago Exchange closed trading on Monday with the market index taking another hit and gave up all the gains recorded last year the market closed below the January 2019 low as trading levels fell below that on Friday.
At the close of trading, the T&T Composite Index fell by 8.92 points to 1,266.06. The All T&T Index dropped 17.71 points to end at 1,698.36 while the Cross Listed Index remained at 112.73.
The market closed with two stocks rising and four stocks declining, while seven were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market fell to 200,057 shares valued at $7,534,924 compared to 347,297 shares for $9,821,563 on Friday.
