More gains than losses on TTSE

Market activity picked up on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with a 60 percent jump in the volume of stocks traded as 21 percent more funds entered the market compared with trading on Tuesday and resulted in 20 securities trading up from 18 on Tuesday, with prices of seven rising, one declining and 12 remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged 763,837 shares for $7,220,624, up from 478,325 shares for $5,985,979 on Tuesday.
An average of 38,192 shares were swapped for  $361,031 compared to 26,574 units at $332,554 on Tuesday, Trading month to date averages 58,471 shares at $531,410 versus 59,889 units at $543,325 on the previous day. The average trade for October amounts to 29,755 at $358,068.
The Composite Index gained 1.32 points to 1,303.03 the All T&T Index rallied 3.85 points to 1,960.03 and the Cross-Listed Index dipped 0.19 points to close at 83.98.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ended with a bid higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
At the close, Agostini’s rallied $1 to $43 after 43 shares were traded, Ansa McAl ended at $50 while exchanging ten stocks, Ansa Merchant Bank remained at $42.20, with 500 units clearing the market. Calypso Macro Investment Fund advanced 65 cents to $22.15, with ten stock units crossing the market, Clico Investment Fund increased 50 cents to end at $30 after exchanging 72,565 stocks, First Citizens Group ended at $50.01 with a transfer of 1,521 stock units. FirstCaribbean International Bank remained at $5.11 in trading 900 units, GraceKennedy ended at $4.75 after 150,000 shares changed hands, Guardian Holdings remained at $25.86, with 2,120 stocks crossing the market. JMMB Group declined 9 cents in closing at $1.81 after an exchange of 181 stock units, Massy Holdings gained 5 cents to close at $4.50 in switching owners of 463,793 shares, National Enterprises ended at $3.26 as 1,789 units passed through the market. National Flour Mills remained at $1.51, with 55 units changing hands, NCB Financial rose 2 cents to $4.58 after a transfer of 13,041 stock units, Point Lisas ended at $3.19 with investors transferring 630 shares. Republic Financial remained at $136 in an exchange of 29 stocks, Scotiabank popped 10 cents in closing at $78 with investors swapping 13,723 shares, Trinidad & Tobago NGL climbed 60 cents to $23 after trading 41,743 units. Trinidad Cement remained at $3.60 in an exchange of 503 stocks and West Indian Tobacco ended at $22 as investors traded 681 stock units.
