Trinidad stocks traded steady – Friday

Price movements on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday resulted in slippage in the market index with an equal number of rising and falling stocks after four suffered a large price declines.  
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.06 points to 1,270.95. The All T&T Index declined by 2.63 points to 1,704.96, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.35 points to 113.16.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading with six stocks rising, six declining and three closing with prices unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 395,917 shares valued at $11,097,128 compared to 501,256 shares for $18,906,240 on Thursday.

Gainers│ Ansa McAL gained 10 cents exchanging 75,000 shares and settled at $54.50, National Enterprises rose 5 cents to end at $4.20, with 1,300 units changing hands, National Flour gained 8 cents and ended at $1.38, with 5,000 stock units crossing the exchange. NCB Financial traded 30,000 shares at $7.50, after rising 10 cents, Scotiabank picked up 1 cent to finish at $54.99, with 53,910 shares crossing the market and Unilever Caribbean transferred 26,717 stock units at $17, after rising 2 cents.
Losers│ Angostura Holdings lost 4 cents transferring 1,500 units to close at $13.96, Clico Investments closed $1.35 lower to finish at $25.65, with 23,420 stock units changing hands, First Citizens Bank fell $4 after trading 5,145 units to end at $44. Massy Holdings settled at $55, with a loss of $1 in switching ownership of 28,173 stock units, One Caribbean Media closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.53, after losing 46 cents while exchanging 2,135 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent transferring 835 units and closed at $16.49.
Firm Trades│ Guardian Holdings remained at $18 after trading 42,782 shares and Trinidad Cement exchanged 100,000 units at $1.90.

T&T stock market bounces

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange enjoyed another day with the index bouncing higher, continuing the slow recovery from the sharp fall the start of March as the total level of trading climbed over Wednesday’s levels.

TTSE Index climbing again.

The T&T Composite Index added 1.55 points to 1,271.01. The All T&T Index climbed 6.08 points higher to 1,709.59, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.42 points to 112.81.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with four rising, five declining and four holding firm, with 501,256 shares valued at $18,906,240 passing through the market, compared to 141,043 shares for $2,272,802 on Wednesday.

Losers│ NCB Financial shed 10 cents trading 41,000 shares to settle at $7.40, Scotiabank lost 1 cent to close at $54.98, with 2,550 units crossing the market, Trinidad and Tobago NGL transferred 5,383 stock units at $16.50, after losing 30 cents. Unilever Caribbean lost 2 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $16.98, with 1,143 units changing hands and West Indian Tobacco fell by 30 cents to $31.10 trading 1,830 units.
Firm Trades│ Angostura Holdings remained at $14, with an exchange of 71,700 shares, Grace Kennedy ended at $2.90 with 4,315 units crossing the market, Guardian Holdings closed unchanged at $18, after transferring 27,433 stock units and Republic Financial Holdings switched ownership of 72,481 shares at $132.50.

Banks push TTSE index higher

First Citizens rose $3 on Wednesday.

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange registered a bounce on Wednesday with First Citizens Bank jumping $3 and heavyweight Republic Financial Holdings put in a gain of 30 cents on a day with three stocks rising and four declining and five ending with prices unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index advanced 7.76 points to 1,269.46. The All T&T Index soared 13.91 points to 1,701.51, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.21 points to 113.23.
The market closed with twelve securities trading, leading to 225,594 shares valued at $2,886,944 crossing the exchange, compared to 222,052 shares for $3,973,067 on Tuesday.

Firm Trades│ Angostura Holdings closed at $14 trading 1,714 units, Guardian Holdings held firm at $18 with an exchange of 2,275 units, JMMB Group swapped 3,125 stock units at $1.95. The volume of stocks trading dropped on Tuesday, but the more important measure, the value of stocks changing hands rose over Monday’s levels as the prices of most stocks declined compared to those increasing.
At the close of the market, the T&T Composite Index gained 3.33 points to close at 1,261.70. The All T&T Index advanced 9.02 points to 1,687.60, while the Cross Listed Index pulled back 0.33 points to 113.02.
Investors exchanged eleven securities while driving the prices of three stocks higher and pushed down prices of five and left three unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 222,052 shares at $3,973,067 compared to 357,881 shares for $2,297,587 on Monday.

Losers│ Guardian Holdings lost 40 cents in closing at $18, with 8,018 stock units changing hands and Trinidad Cement fell 28 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $1.62.
Firm Trades│ Agostini’s exchanged 99 units at $24, Ansa Merchant Bank closed at $37 with 200 units changing hands, Clico investments traded 47 units at $24. Traded led to more shares changing hands on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, than on any other day this week, with the market ending with just five stocks recording price changes for the day.
The market had its worse performance for the week with the T&T Composite Index dropping 12.46 points to end at 1,257.97. The All T&T Index fell 3.40 points to 1,675.29, while the Cross Listed Index lost 2.95 points to 113.70.
