The Junior Market Index gained 9.30 points to close at 3,454 on Thursday with 27 securities changing hands, with 11 securities rising, 11 declining as 5 remained unchanged.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 8,459,100 units at $64,413,332 compared to 53,025,384 units valued $252,714,577 on Wednesday from 27 securities.
Market activity ended with an average of 313,300 units at $2,385,679 for each security traded, in contrast to 1,963,903 units for an average of $9,359,799 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 1,377,283 valued at $3,452,615 and previously 1,421,017 shares valued at $3,530,472. August ended with an average of 232,398 units valued at $1,072,851 for each traded security.

Honey Bun climbed 41 cents and exchanged 8,377 shares at $6.40, iCreate declined 2 cents to settle at $0.75, Indies Pharma lost 2 cents in trading of 1,850 units at $3.43, Jamaican Teas lost 4 cents in trading 16,223 units to close at $5.96. Knutsford Express traded 4,837,099 units and gained 5 cents to end at $10.95, Limners and Bards closed with a loss of 13 cents at $2.82, in moving 2,386,967 shares, Lasco Distributors climbed 18 cents and exchanged 185,821 shares to end at $3.48, Lasco Manufacturing declined 2 cents to settle at $5.44 in trading 16,398 shares. Medical Disposables lost 60 cents trading 5,000 shares to close at $7.40, Main Event had 2,500 shares changing hands, after rising 4 cents to end at $5.61, Paramount Trading closed with a loss of 8 cents higher at $1.70, with 100 stock units trading and tTech closed trading of 4,421 units and gained 30 cents to end at $5.90.

JSE main market slips again

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended with 12 securities rising, 13 with losses and 13 traded firm as 38 securities traded on Wednesday, compared to 34 stocks trading on Tuesday.
The market closed with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declining 11,780.29 points to close at 562,335.23, the JSE Index dropped 1,615.40 points to 511,824.86 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.57 points to close at 139.57.
Market activity ended with 36,372,802 units valued at over $343,567,278, in contrast to 39,479,470 units valued at $797,391,912 on Tuesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with over 22 million shares for 60.5 percent of total volume, followed by Supreme Ventures with 6.8 million units accounting for 19 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Fund with over 3.6 million shares for 10 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 1,102,206 units valued at an average of $10,411,130 for each security traded, in contrast to 1,161,161 units valued at an average of $23,452,703 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 932,030 units valued at $8,061,795 and previously an average of 919,467 units valued at $7,873,621for each security traded. The market closed out August with an average of 1,743,431 units valued at $9,907,963 for each security traded.

Jamaica Broilers gained $1.55 to settle at $34 with 95,461 shares changing hands, Jamaica Producers rose $1 to end at $24.50 while trading 17,950 shares, JMMB Group lost $4.99 to settle at $43.01 with 53,685 shares changing hands. Mayberry Jamaican Equities lost 50 cents to end at $11, trading 61,787 shares, NCB Financial declined by $3 to end at $210, with an exchange of 253,978 stock units, Panjam Investment lost 48 cents in trading of 56,018 units to close at $101.50. Sagicor Group lost $1.50 to settle at $70 with 402,329 shares changing hands, Seprod rose $1 to settle at $55 with 56,476 shares changing hands Supreme Ventures gained $1 to close at $28 with an exchange of 6,777,393 shares and Wisynco Group fell $2 in trading 374,927 shares at $23.
Trading in the US dollar market ended with 28,942 units valued at US$13,213. In trading,  JMMB Group 5.75% preference share closed at US$2 in trading 2,706 shares, JMMB Group 5.75% preference share closed trading of 2,435 stock units at US$1.01, Margaritaville closed at 28 US cents in trading 500 units. Proven Investments concluded trading 16,485 shares and settled at 26 US cents with and ended trading finished trading with 15.00 cents and Sygnus Credit Investments completed trading of 6,816 shares at 15 US cents.
The JSE USD Equities Index lost 2.16 points to close at 197.11.

More Junior Market stocks rose

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday with a slight dip in the market Index of 3.64 points to close at 3,444.70 as more stocks rose than declined.

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange Head Quarters

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday with trading in 15 securities against 17 on Tuesday, with 4 advancing, 6 declining and 5 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index climbed 15.06 points on to 1,407.92. The All T&T Index fell 0.49 points to 1,754.47, while the Cross Listed Index gained 4.24 points to close at 143.88.
Trading ended with 175,816 shares at a value of $2,075,581, compared to 291,079 shares at a value of $4,293,499 shares on Tuesday.

National Flour closed with a loss of 3 cents at $1.65, with investors exchanging 45,750 shares, Scotiabank ended with a loss of 1 cent to settle at $58.74, with 3,142 units trading and Trinidad Cement shed 10 cents and closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $2, after the swapping of 6,205 shares.

JSE main market down again

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended with 18 rising, 12 with losses and 4 traded firm as a total of 34 securities traded on Tuesday compared to 33 trading on Monday.
The market closed with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declining 1,054.51 points to end at 564,115.52, the JSE Index dropped 1,119.61 points to 513,440.26 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.46 points to close at 140.14.
Market activity ended with 39,479,470 units valued at $797,391,912, in contrast to 86,270,254 units valued at $128,945,815 on Monday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with over 20 million shares for 52 percent of total volume, followed by Caribbean Cement with 5 million units accounting for 13 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Fund with over 4 million shares for 11 percent of the main market’s volume.
The Market closed with an average of 1,161,161 units valued at an average of $23,452,703 for each security traded. In contrast to 2,875,675 units for an average of $4,298,194 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 919,467 units valued at $7,873,621 and previously an average of 899,570 shares for $6,472,327 for each security traded. Sagicor Group added 49 cents to settle at $71.50 with 37,183 shares changing hands, Scotia Group fell 49 cents to close at $57 with an exchange of 23,164 shares, Seprod lost $2.50 to settle at $54 with 34,752 shares changing hands and Wisynco Group gained 50 cents in trading 133,235 shares at $25.
Trading in the US dollar market ended with 6,994 units valued at US$1,430 as Proven Investments traded 4,742 units at 26 US cents followed by Sterling Investments gained 1.6 US cents to close at 3.8 US cents and Margaritaville closed 3 US cents higher to settle at 52 weeks’ high of 28 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index gained 4.82 points to close at 199.27.

 

Junior Market takes another hit

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday with a sharp drop in the market Index by 42.90 points to close at 3,448.34 as declining stocks edged out advancers by more than 2 to 1.

At the close of market activities, the prices of 7 securities advanced, 17 declined and 6 remained unchanged with 30 securities changing hands, compared to 29 on Monday and resulting in an exchange of 2,481,939 units valued at $10,695,407 compared to 1,582,639 units valued at $10,125,399 on Monday.
Some of the selling may be due to some investors seeking funds to buy into either the Barita Investments rights issue or the QWI Investments IPO. Both issues will close this week and help ease some selling pressure.
Trading ended with an average of 82,731 units for an average of $356,514 in contrast to 54,574 units for an average of $349,152 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 1,378,282 valued at $3,071,604 and previously 1,502,456 units for $3,331,836. GWest Corporation closed with a loss of 15 cents at $1.05, in swapping of 45,274, shares, Honey Bun declined 19 cents in trading 54,375 units at $5.81, iCreate declined 2 cents in trading 172,657 units at 77 cents, Indies Pharma traded 26,887 shares for 6 cents lower to settle at $3.37. Iron Rock Insurance exchanged 3,000 shares after rising 59 cents to end at $3.95, Jamaican Teas declined by 30 cents to settle at $6 in trading 362,394 shares, Knutsford Express fell 10 cents in trading of 5,641 units at $10.90, Key Insurance lost 20 cents in trading 100 shares to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $2.80. Limners and Bards lost 4 cents trading 165,769 units at $2.96, Lasco Distributors ended with a loss of 1 cent at $3.49 with 54,665 stock units changing hands, Lasco Financial dipped 50 cents in trading of 212,070 units to end at $4.50. Lasco Manufacturing dipped 21 cents in exchanging 25,049 units at $5.30, Main Event closed 95 cents higher at $6.95, with 1,000 stock units trading, Stationery and Office Supplies declined by $1.95 to settle at $11.05 but with 7,594 shares being traded and tTech closed trading of 355 units and gaining 89 cents to end at $5.90.

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday with trading in 17 securities against 16 on Monday, with 7 advancing, 2 declining and 8 remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index gained 2.01 points to end at 1,392.86. The All T&T Index rose 6.41 points to 1,754.96, while the Cross Listed Index declined 0.34 points to close at 139.64.
Trading ended with just 291,079 shares at a value of $4,293,499, compared to 43,050 shares at a value of $1,201,598 shares on Monday.

Firm Trades| Angostini’s traded 100 shares and closed at $24, Calypso Macro Index Fund exchanged 400 shares in closing at $15.50, Clico Investment Fund closed at $24.17, with 4,193 stock units trading, Ansa Mcal completed trading of 45,000 units at $55. Guardian Holdings closed at $18.10, after exchanging 1,573 shares, JMMB Group ended at $2.25, with 46,400 stock units changing hands, Republic Financial concluded trading of 350 shares at $121.81 and Trinidad Cement ended at $2.10, with 59,263 units crossing the exchange.

IC TOP 10 MPC hits new record high

Prices pulled back during the past week but the new IC TOP 10 BUY RATED main market stocks MPC Caribbean Energy surged to an all-time high of $153.06 and is still in the TOP 10 and seems poised to move higher with no sellers in sight.
Seprod returns and Scotia Group moved out to be the only changes to the main market list. Jetcon Corporation, Caribbean Cream and Caribbean Flavours return to the Junior Market TOP 10 replacing CAC 2000, Dolphin Cove and Jamaican Teas.
The three most attractive Junior Market stocks are Iron Rock with projected gains of 257 percent, followed by Caribbean Producers with likely gains of 237 percent and tTech with projected gains of 208 percent.
Radio Jamaica closed the week with projected gains of 138 percent as the leading main market stock followed by Berger Paints with projected gains of 132 and Carreras with projected gains of 112 percent.
The main market, closed the week with the overall PE of 17.7 down from 18.3 the previous week and the Junior Market is down to 11.6 from 12.1 based on current year’s earnings. The PE ratio for Junior Market Top 10 stocks averages 7.7 compared to 8.4 the previous week and the main market PE is now 10.5. These levels of PE ratios point to big upside for TOP 10 stocks.
The TOP 10 stocks now trade at an average discount of 33 percent to the average for the Junior Market Top stocks and main market stocks trade at a discount of 41 percent to the overall market.
TOP 10 stocks are likely to deliver the best returns to March next year. Projected earnings, for each company’s current fiscal year, are used in determining, the selected stocks. The PE for and projected earnings for each stock are computed to show potential gains for the year, which are ranked in descending order. Potential values will change as stock prices fluctuate and will result in movements of the selection in and out of the lists for most weeks. Earnings per share are revised on an ongoing basis as new information is received that can result in changes in and out of the list.

At the close of trading, 7 securities advanced, 12 declined and 14 traded firm as a total of 33 securities in the main and US dollar markets compared to 32 on Friday. Market activity ended with 86,270,254 units valued at $128,945,815, in contrast to 23,486,112 units at $198,066,208 on Friday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 80 million shares for 93 percent of total volume, followed Sagicor Select Fund with 4.6 million units accounting for 5 percent of the day’s trade and Supreme Ventures with 296,337 shares for less than 1 percent of the main market’s volume.
