JSE down early Tuesday trading

The junior market is off to a flying start with the index hitting new heights with a gain of 25.01 points to reach 1,725.85 with KLE Group trading up by 28 cents to a new 52 weeks’ high of $1.83 while trading 10,000 shares. By 10:45 the index was pushed down below Monday’s close of 1,700.84.
JSE intra 29-12-15Trading levels remain low after the Christmas break with 20 securities trading up to 10:45 on Tuesday morning on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. The three main major market indices had mixed fortunes with main market ones declining and the combined rising as a result of the gains in the junior market. Total securities rising amount to 4 and while 7 declined with 2,969,956 units changing hands.
The all Jamaica Composite Index declined by 101.19 points to 163,314.86 the JSE Market Index declined 90.55 points to 147,069.59, the JSE combined index fell by 237.33 points to 153,891.58 and the junior market index is down 17.01 points to 1,683.83.
Interesting trades include Cable & Wireless with 81,815 units at $1.33, Sagicor Group with 798,976at $18.50 and Supreme Ventures 1,409,317 shares at $4.66. Derrimon Trading preference share had 400,000 units trading at $2.10 and Lasco Manufacturing ended down to $3 from $3.50 with 96,195 shares.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange had a sedate Christmas eve on Thursday, closing with just 7 active securities. Activity ended with price of 1 stock rising, 1 declining and 5 remaining unchanged as 190,841 shares changed hands valued at $2,606,951.

Grace Kennedy had 18,000 units changing hands at $4, National Commercial Bank traded 100,000 shares at $2.05, Republic Financial Holdings, the new entity holding shares in Republic Bank, ended with 8,921 shares valued at $998,171 changing hands at $111.89 and Trinidad and Tobago NGL closed at $21 with 52,306 shares changing hands, valued at $1,098,426.

The junior market is enjoying major gain on Friday morning with a 2 percent or 34 point jump to sit just below the record reached in November of 1,676.68 points.JSE intra 18-12-15 The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange also recorded gains in early trading pushing the indices to new record high. A total of 17 securities traded as 9 stocks rose and just 3 declined with 2,512,805 units changing hands.
At 10:45 am, the all Jamaica Composite Index gained 334.81 points to 160,677.66, the JSE Market Index gained by 299.59 points to 144,709.80, the JSE combined index gained 586.44 points to 151,548.54 and the junior market index is up 34 points to 1,670.95.
Interesting trades, with 75 minutes having elapsed are, Supreme Ventures traded 2,200,000 shares at $4.58 for an 8 cents gain, Grace Kennedy traded at a new 52 weeks’ high of $80 and so has Sagicor Group at $17.50, Jamaica Broilers dropped $1.90 to be at $8.60 and National Commercial Bank had gained $1.20 to $39.90.
