Junior Market jumps 89 pnts to record 3,840

Bulls pushed Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market much higher on Tuesday, with the market crossing into the 3,800 zone for the first time after a sharp rise of 89.48 points in the index to close at a record closing high of 3,840.50, marginally below the intraday high of 3,840.74 points shortly before the close and moving the gains in just over a month to an impressive 12 percent. 
Overall, 42 securities traded compared to 43 on Monday and ended with 17 rising, 19 declining and six, closing unchanged. In real bull market fashion trading ended with four stocks ending at 52 weeks’ high on Tuesday as follows: Dolphin Cove, Everything Fresh an IC Insider.com TOP 15 stock for 2022, Fontana, and Spur Tree Spices.

Trading averaged 497,230 shares at $2,147,172 in contrast to 321,782 shares at $1,254,080 on Monday and month to date, averaging 496,146 units at $2,147,172, compared to 319,395 units at $1,181,136 on Monday.

Mixed trading for JSE majors

Market activity ended on Tuesday with the volume of shares rising 21 percent valued 15 percent below Monday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with a mixed performance at the close as declining stocks overwhelmed those that declined.
The All Jamaican Composite Index gained 532.85 points to settle at 446,025.44, the JSE Main Index dropped 2,606.23 points to 399,053.91 and the JSE Financial Index shed 1.29 points to close at 97.82.
Trading ended with 57 securities down from 59 on Monday, with 21 rising, 25 declining and 11 ending unchanged.

New record high for Junior Market

The JSE Junior Market is trading at yet another record high in Tuesday market activity with the market index putting on 82.83 points to 3,833.09 after 90 minutes of trading. The market has broken out from the area of resistance that pinned it in the 3,400 level from May last year and finally broke loose in the middle of January.
If the market holds at these levels it would represent a break from the channel that goes back to March of 2020 and place it on track for more gains and higher levels for the market.
In Tuesday’s trading Caribbean Producers rose to $24.50, Dolphin Cove moved up to a record $29.94, Fontana climbed to a record $10.50.
In the Main Market, Caribbean Producers rose to $24.35 as that market All Jamaican Composite Index is at 447,4388.57, up from 445,492.59 on Monday.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market ended trading on Monday at another new record closing high, with the market Index popping 55.08 points to settle at 3,751.02, to be up 9.4 percent for January after hitting a peak of 3,770.13 in the early morning session following new highs last week for the first time since late 2019.

All 43 listed securities traded compared to 42 on Friday and ended with 26 rising, 10 declining, while seven closed unchanged. AMG Packaging, Dolphin Cove, Fontana, Paramount Trading and Spur Tree Spices traded at 52 weeks’ highs during the day.
The volume of stocks trading rose 40 percent as the value climbed 55 percent higher than on Friday, with 13,836,620 shares traded for $53,925,461, up from 9,892,920 units at $34,889,559 on Friday. Recently listed Spur Tree Spices led trading with 3.89 million shares for 28.1 percent of total volume followed by Lumber Depot, 1.40 million units for 10.1 percent of the day’s trade and Everything Fresh with 974,543 units for 7 percent market share.
Trading averaged 321,782 shares at $1,254,080 in contrast to 235,546 shares at $830,704 on Friday and the month to date averaging 319,395 units at $1,181,136, compared to 319,265 units at $1,177,146 on Friday. December closed with an average of 409,209 units at $1,318,877.

JSE Main Market strolls into month end with gains

Market activity ended on Monday with the volume of shares falling sharply by 68 percent and the value 65 percent lower than on Friday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks outpaced those declining and sending the main indices higher at the close to close off the first month of 2022, with overall gains of 1.5 percent.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rallied 3,483.91 points to 445,492.59, the JSE Main Index gained 1,195.33 points to end at 401,660.14 and the JSE Financial Index popped 0.27 points to 99.11.
Trading took place in 59 securities compared to 57 on Friday, with 28 rising, 22 declining and nine ending unchanged.

Trading ended on Monday, with the volume of shares changing hands surging 1,210 percent with 416 percent higher than on Friday, at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market, resulting in three stocks falling to one rising.
Four securities changed hands, down from eight on Friday with prices of one rising and three declining and resulting in the JSE US Denominated Equities Index losing 2.88 points to end at 198.93.

Market activity ended on Friday with the volume of shares trading surging 337 percent higher and the value jumping 158 percent more than on Thursday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks equaled those declining and driving the market indices higher at the close.
The All Jamaican Composite Index jumped 2,421.50 points to 442,008.68, the JSE Main Index climbed 3,294.94 points to close at 400,464.81 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.82 points to end at 98.84.
Trading ended with 57 securities up from 55 on Thursday, with 21 rising, 21 slipping and 15 ending unchanged.

Another record close for Junior Market Stocks

The JSE Junior Market Index at an all-time high.

Following a long run with the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market failing to take out the record 2019 high, the market ended for a second consecutive day at a new record closing high on Friday, with the Market Index gaining 26.21 points to finish the day at 3,695.94 after trading during the day at a high of 3,717.45 and ended with the volume of stocks traded, declining 31 percent and the value slipping 22 percent lower than on Thursday.
A total of 42 securities traded on Friday compared to 43 on Thursday and ended with 17 rising, 18 declining and seven closing unchanged. Five stocks hit 52 weeks highs during trading with four ended with a 52 weeks closing highs. The four ending with 52 weeks’ closing highs are Dolphin Cove, Fontana, Paramount Trading and Spur Tree Spices while Elite Diagnostic traded at an intraday high of $4.40 but closed much lower at the end.

Trading on Friday ended with the volume of shares changing hands being marginally more with a sharper drop in value than on Thursday, at close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market, after eight securities changed hands, compared to seven on Thursday with two rising, three declining and three ending unchanged.
The JSE US Denominated Equities Index rose 1.74 points to end at 201.81.

Proven Investments rallied 0.2 of a cent to close at 22.95 US cents after trading 16,075 stock units, Sygnus Credit Investments USD share ended unchanged at 12.95 US cents, with 2,332 stock units changing hands and  Transjamaican Highway remained at 0.83 US cents after exchanging 104,700 units.
In the preference segment, Equityline Mortgage Investment preference share finished at US$1.999 after exchanging 125 stocks and JMMB Group 6% dropped 13 cents in ending at US$1.02 after trading 450 shares.

New record close for Junior Market

The Junior Market climbed 26.97 points to close at 3,669.73, complete trading at a new record close on Thursday after the market topped out on August 14, 2019, at 3,662.94, some two and a half years ago and follows the record intraday high earlier this week when the market hit 3,700.02 points in early trading on Monday.  
Market activity led to all 43 Junior Market securities trading on Thursday compared to 42 on Wednesday and ended with 23 rising, 12 declining and eight, closing unchanged.

Trading closed, with the volume of stocks traded rising 54 percent and the value surging 45 percent over Wednesday’s trades as 14,330,907 shares traded for $44,562,678 up from 9,334,543 units at $30,769,347 on Wednesday. Spur Tree Spices led trading with 7.9 million shares for 55.1 percent of total volume followed by Mailpac Group with 1.37 million units for 9.6 percent of the day’s trade and Future Energy Source, 617,019 units for 4.3 percent market share.
Trading averaged 333,277 shares at $1,036,341 in contrast to 222,251 shares at $732,603 on Wednesday and month to date, an average of 323,991 units at $1,196,703 compared to 323,421 units at $1,206,540 on the previous day. December closed with an average of 409,209 units at $1,318,877.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows no stock ended with a bid higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
At the close, CAC 2000 rallied 72 cents to end at $8.25 in an exchange of 50 shares, Cargo Handlers dropped 30 cents to close at $7, with 3,570 stock units clearing the market, Caribbean Cream climbed 27 cents to end at $5.27 after exchanging 2,327 stocks. Dolphin Cove popped 10 cents to close at $22.60 after trading 130,213 units with the price hitting an intraday high of $24.40. Elite Diagnostic advanced 30 cents in closing at a 52 weeks’ high of $4 while exchanging 49,005 stock units, Fontana rose 16 cents to $7.85 with the swapping of 346,988 shares. Fosrich gained 26 cents in closing at $14.83 with 11,944 stocks crossing the exchange, Future Energy Source increased 12 cents to close at $3.41 in trading 617,019 units, Honey Bun declined 30 cents to end at $9.25 in switching ownership of 130,247 shares. Indies Pharma shed 7 cents after ending at $3.08, with 74,482 stock units changing hands, Iron Rock Insurance increased 33 cents in closing at $3.30 after an exchange of 100 stocks, ISP Finance fell $2.51 to end at $35.49 and trading 336 units. Jamaican Teas rose 16 cents after ending at $4.26 in an exchange of 367,087 shares, Lasco Manufacturing lost 30 cents to $4.63 trading 3,776 stocks, Lumber Depot gained 14 cents to close at $3.18 after an exchange of 578,815 units. Medical Disposables gained 57 cents to $7.29 trading 189 stock units, Paramount Trading rallied 16 cents ending at a 52 weeks’ of $2.03 with an exchange of 236,189 stocks, SSL Venture fell 30 cents to end at $1.90 in trading 225,157 stock units and tTech popped 20 cents to close at $4.20 after 36,447 shares changed hands.
