TTSE trading falls again on Tuesday

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended on Tuesday with modest moves after an exchange of 7 percent fewer shares than on Monday with the value falling 41 percent as the rising stocks edged out falling ones.

The market closed with 14 securities trading, up from eleven on Monday and closing, with six stocks advancing, four declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 197,371 shares for $1,639,274 compared to 211,449 shares valued $2,768,849 on Monday.
The average trade for the day amounts to 14,098 units at $117,087 versus an average of 19,223 units at $251,714 for each security on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 16,907 shares at $224,828 compared to 17,843 units at $260,742 on Monday. In contrast, September closed with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index rose 1.26 points to 1,319.24; the All T&T Index slipped 1.70 points to end at 1,789.18, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.58 points to close at 114.73.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids for three stocks higher than its last selling price and six with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ First Caribbean International Bank rose one cent to close at $7.08 after 28,275 stocks changed hands, Guardian Holdings gained 19 cents to close at $19.20, trading 1,000 shares, JMMB Group closed 4 cents higher at $1.79, in transferring 32,965 shares. Massy Holdings rose 5 cents to end at $59.05, after trading just 22 stock units, NCB Financial Group gained 3 cents to close at $7.85 with the transfer of 2,234 units, National Flour ended at $1.85, with gains of 2 cents in exchanging 31,208 units.  
Stocks declining│First Citizens Bank lost 10 cents to settle at $46, with 4,020 units changing hands and Trinidad and Tobago NGL shed 5 cents in transferring 8,500 shares, ending the day at $15.05. Scotiabank dived $1.50 in exchanging 6,535 units at $54.50 and Unilever Caribbean fell 3 cents to $16.97, trading 4,300 shares.
Stocks trading firm│ One Caribbean Media closed at $5, exchanging 39,300 shares. Point Lisas remained at $3.15, with 715 shares changing hands, Trinidad Cement traded 30,436 shares at $2 and West Indian Tobacco held firm at $35, with a transfer of 7,861 units.

TTSE volume plunged on Monday

The number of securities trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday jumped to 20, but the volume of shares trading dropped to just six percent of Friday’s and led to the market rising.

The market closed with twenty securities trading with five stocks advancing, four declining and eleven remaining unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to a mere 35,937 shares, valued at $727,964 compared to 592,382 shares for $2,592,060 on Friday from 17 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 1,797 units at $36,398 versus an average of 34,834 stock units for $152,328 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade is 15,532 units at $154,364 versus an average of 20,526 shares at $197,262. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index climbed 4.62 points to 1,330.01, The All T&T Index advanced by 4.02 points to 1,802.52, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.71 points to close at 115.83.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than its last selling price and one with lower offers.
Stocks rising Ansa McAL picked up 1 cent to close at $52.01; after transferring 153 shares, CinemaOne ended at $4.40, with gains of 20 cents trading 20 units, Prestige Holdings gained 20 cents to end at $8.20 in exchanging 288 stock units. Republic Financial Holdings closed $1.50 higher at $143, with 453 shares changing hands and Unilever Caribbean rose 27 cents to $16.97, in trading 882 units.
Stocks declining Agostini’s shed 25 cents trading 2,199 units to finish at $24.70, National Enterprises closed 18 cents lower at $4.02, after exchanging 3,000 stock units, One Caribbean Media slipped 8 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $5.02, in transferring 2,190 units and Scotiabank lost 1 cent trading 352 units to settle at $54.69.

Slippage for many of TTSE stocks

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on undefined, with the market declining after 246 percent more shares than on undefined, resulting in more than twice the number of stocks falling than rising and the prices of three stocks closing at 52 weeks’ lows.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with four stocks advancing, ten stocks declining and three remaining unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 592,382 shares valued at $2,589,580 compared to 171,377 shares for $1,635,896 on Thursday from 13 securities.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 34,846 units at $152,328 versus an average of 13,183 stock units for $125,838 for each security. Month to date trading resulted in an average 20,526 units changing hands at $197,262 versus 14,126 shares at $217,364 on Thursday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.00 point to 1,325.39, the All T&T Index dropped 4.25 points to 1,798.50, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.31 points to close at 115.12.

JMMB Group added 4 cents to close at $1.84, in trading 973 units and West Indian Tobacco picked up 2 cents in the transfer of just two stock units in ending at $37.

Trinidad and Tobago NGL slid 59 cents to $16.16, with an exchange of 2,200 units and Unilever Caribbean finished at a 52 weeks’ low of $16.70, after losing 27 cents transferring 5,000 stock units.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading for the week on a positive note with all three market indices closing higher on Friday as well as the week, with four stocks rising at the close, two declining and nine remaining unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.65 points to 1,324.11, The All T&T Index rose 1.09 points to 1,796.29, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 points to close at 115.08.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading down from 16 on Thursday, with investors trading 66 percent more shares than on Thursday as 452,525 units changed hands at $4,111,682 compared to 273,269 shares for $4,126,089 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day was 30,168 units at $274,112 versus an average of 17,079 stock units for $257,881 for each security on Thursday. Trading for the month to date resulted in an average of 15,361 units crossing the market at $367,803, versus 14,500 shares at $373,250, to Thursday. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

TTSE in big jump

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Wednesday, with a strong rise for some stock prices, with the day’s volume amounted to a mere 9 percent of the shares changing hands on Tuesday.
The market closed with twelve securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, three declining and six unchanged.  The T&T Composite Index climbed 6.68 points to 1,321.95 and the All T&T Index jumped 13.86 points to 1,790.62, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.08 points to close at 115.27.
The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 38,812 shares valued at $1,611,856 compared to 439,247 shares for $23,292,329 on Tuesday from 18 securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 3,234 units at $134,321 versus an average of 24,403 stock units for $1,294,018 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,330 shares at $396,797, versus an average of 14,909 units at $410,492. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

Slide for TTSE market on Friday

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended activities on Friday with increased trading leading to an equal number of rising and declining stocks after investors traded 250 percent more shares than Thursday valued slightly lower.

The average trade on Friday amounted to 20,075 units at $330,649 versus an average of 6,044 stock units for $394,355 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 13,790 shares at $339,563, versus an average of 13,197 units at $340,405. In contrast, July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 9.02 points to 1,313.03. The All T&T Index dropped 10.02 points to 1,774.16, while the Cross Listed Index fell by 1.09 points to close at 115.10.

Trading rise on TTSE as index drops

Ansa McAL and Republic Financial Holdings saw their stock price fall sharply on Monday and contributing to a 13.22 points decline in the All T&T index even as the volume and value of securities changing hands in the market rose compared to last Thursday.
The market was closed on Friday, the Labour Day holiday, with the number of securities trading, rose to the highest level since March 17, when 21 securities traded and the fifth time for 2020 that 20 or more securities crossed the market in a single session, this year.
The market closed with twenty securities trading with three stocks advancing, six declining and eleven remained unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 575,772 shares valued at $5,468,225 compared to 244,138 shares for $1,727,656 on Thursday from 11 securities.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 6.50 points to 1,314.28. The All T&T Index dropped 13.22 points to 1,777.69, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.04 points to close at 114.98.

Volume rises on TT stock market

After breaking for the Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resumed trading on Friday with increased volume and value of stocks over Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with two advancing, three declining and eight unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 570,976 shares valued at $1,744,334 compared to 100,174 shares for $1,354,857 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.05 points to close at 1,298.36. The All T&T Index was down 0.10 points to 1,760.42, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.01.

Losers Guardian Media dropped 60 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $6, in transferring 1,132 units, Massy Holdings ended 10 cents lower at $57.50 trading 175 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent to finish at $18.99, after swapping 4,135 units.

TTSE starts June moderately

Investors eased off trading on Monday compared to Friday as the volume and value passing through the market plunged. The market index rose moderately in continuation of recovery that started in early May.
The market closed with thirteen securities changing hands of which two gained, three declined and the price of eight remained unchanged, while one stock traded at 52 weeks’ low. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 188,712 shares valued at $990,863 compared to 1,393,703 shares for $4,290,531 on Friday from 14 securities.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.44 points to close at 1,289.62. The All T&T Index advanced by 1.21 points to 1,737.32, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.05 points to end at 113.80.

TTSE market ekes out gains

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange rose sharply on Wednesday with increased securities, with less volume and value than on Thursday leading the two leading market indices to rise after Republic Holdings and West Indian Tobacco helped to move the indices higher.

The market closed with three stocks rising, six declining and ten left unchanged. Investors moved 206,791 shares valued at $4,236,844 through the market, compared to 270,942 shares for $7,464,144 on Tuesday.
