Another record close for Trinidad stocks

More records tumbled at the end of market activity on Monday and resulted in more stocks rising than falling at the close of trading of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, after trading 65 percent more shares, valued 76 percent less than on Friday.
As was the case on Friday, 19 securities traded, with three rising, four declining and 12 remaining unchanged.
The Composite Index advanced 9.72 points to a record high of 1,540.09, the All T&T Index rose 10.87 points to close at another record of 2,155.96 and the Cross-Listed Index increased 1.19 points to settle at 123.49.
Overall, 516,896 shares traded for $4,004,944 compared to 312,597 units at $16,361,645 on Friday. An average of 27,205 units traded at $210,787 compared to 16,452 shares at $861,139 on the prior trading day, with the month to date averaging 44,500 units at $350,609 versus 45,699 units at $360,304. The average trade for December amounts to 21,703 units at $306,768.

At the close, Agostini’s finished at $46 after trading 518 shares, Angostura Holdings ended unchanged at $19.99, with 246 units clearing the market, Clico Investment Fund fell $1.49 to close at $28.51 in exchanging 24,630 stock units. Endeavour Holdings advanced 1 cent to $8 after exchanging 1,000 stocks, First Citizens Group remained at $66 in switching ownership of 355 shares, GraceKennedy lost 2 cents to close at $6.20 with the swapping of 51,513 stock units. Guardian Holdings dropped 23 cents in closing at $30.02 after exchanging 12,289 stocks, JMMB Group climbed 20 cents to $2.55 while 13,700 units changed hands, L.J. Trading slips and TTSE falters on Monday

Market activity ended on Monday with more securities trading, resulting in 65 percent fewer shares changing hands as 41 percent less than on money entered the market compared to Friday, on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and leading to an equal number of stocks rising and falling and in slippage in the market indices.  
At the close, 21 securities traded compared to 18 on Friday, with four stocks each rising and declining and 13 traded unchanged.
The Composite Index dipped 1.99 points to close at 1,521.34, the All T&T Index lost 5.76 points to end at 2,128.20 and the Cross-Listed Index increased 0.29 points to settle at 122.21.
Some 126,559 shares traded, for $2,998,201 compared to 358,635 units at $5,091,172 on Friday. An average of 6,027 units traded at $142,721 compared to 19,924 at $282,843 on Friday. Trading month to date averaged 57,724 units at $293,923 versus 63,857 units at $311,856. The average trade for December amounts to 21,703 units at $306,768.

Quiet bullishness overhangs Trinidad Stock Exchange

A quiet bullishness appears around the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange since late 2021 and continues into the new year with prices of selected stocks hitting 52 weeks’ high on a frequent basis, with market activity on Wednesday ending with two stocks trading at 52 weeks’ high and resulted in more stocks rising than falling at the close after trading 63 percent more shares, with 251 percent higher value than Tuesday.
As was the case on Tuesday, 17 securities changed hands, with eight rising, two declining and seven remaining unchanged. The Composite Index increased 2.29 points to close at 1,523.87, the All T&T Index climbed 3.42 points to 2,135.00 and, the Cross-Listed Index advanced 0.15 points to settle at 121.92.
A total of 227,809 shares traded, for $3,415,464 compared to 139,988 units at $972,176 on Tuesday. An average of 13,401 units traded at $200,910 compared to 8,235 at $57,187 on Tuesday and trading month to date averaging 35,384 units at $230,963 versus 38,423 units at $235,117. The average trade for December amounts to 21,703 units at $306,768.

Trinidad stocks hit record high

Stocks put in another solid performance on Thursday to record another all-time record high for the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on a day when rising stocks than had a near six to one margin over those stocks that declined and sent the All T&T Index up 17.7 percent for the year with just one more day of trading remaining.
The index hit a record high on November 16, this year bettering the previous record of 2,032.53 points reached on January 3, 2014. Since then the market hit record highs on each of the seven trading days from December 21. The rally was driven by 10 stocks with Massy Holdings announcing a 25 for one stock split is by far the major mover, with a rise of  $48.34 for a 79 percent gain for the year to date.
At the close of trading on Thursday, 19 securities traded up from 15 on Wednesday, with 11 stocks rising, two fell and six closing unchanged. The Composite Index climbed 10.88 points to 1,497.58, the All T&T Index spiked 17.31 points to 2,085.82 and the Cross-Listed Index rose 0.56 points to settle at 121.67.
A total of 303,294 shares traded, for $7,026,727 compared to 487,407 units at $11,558,864 on Wednesday. More gains for Trinidadian stocks

Funds passing through the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange dropped sharply on Wednesday and resulted in an exchange of 39 percent fewer shares, with 48 percent lower value than Tuesday, as market activity resulted in more stocks rising than falling at the close.  
At the close, 18 securities traded, down from 21 on Tuesday, with seven rising, five declining and six ending unchanged. The Composite Index climbed 6.63 points to 1,463.62, the All T&T Index spiked 11.03 points to 2,021.31 and the Cross-Listed Index rose 0.27 points to settle at 121.48.
A total of 142,298 shares traded for $3,011,564 versus 231,849 units at $5,738,958 on Tuesday. Market activity ended on Friday with 53 percent more funds flowing into the market than on Thursday, resulting in more stocks rising than falling, after the volume of stock trading fell 32 percent below Thursday levels as trading closed out the week and month negatively, on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
