Junior Market closes with gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, with the market rising with advancing stocks were edged out by declining ones, after an exchange of 41 percent fewer shares than on Thursday.
Trading concluded with 33 securities changing hands, up from 31 on Thursday and ended, with the prices of 13 stocks rising, the prices of 14 declining and six with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 18.3 points to settle at 2,514.82, the highest point since August 28. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.6  based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of  2,048,087 shares for $5,393,700  compared to 3,485,582 units at $7,773,090 on Thursday. Mailpac Group led trading with 31.2 percent of total volume for 639,248 shares, followed by Lasco Distributors with 26.3 percent and 539,293 units and  Lumber Depot with 7.7 percent market share, with 158,533 shares.
Trading ended with an average of 62,063 units at $163,445 in contrast to 112,438 at $250,745 on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 75,003  units at $216,266, in comparison to 76,698 units at $223,183 on Thursday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426 units at $321,996.

At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped  $4.49 to end at $21.51 in an exchange of just 11 shares, AMG Packaging dropped 22 cents to finish at $1.76 with a mere ten units trading, Blue Power fell 12 cents to settle at $3.30 with 1,500 stock units passing through the market. Cargo Handlers lost 30 cents to close at $7, trading 10,000 shares, Caribbean Assurance Brokers gained 14 cents to end at $2.05 with 116,159 units changing hands, Caribbean Cream shed 40 cents to finish at $4 with investors switching ownership of 36,150 shares. Caribbean Flavours fell 3 cents to settle at $18.44 with 3,309 stocks passing through the market, Derrimon Trading advanced 34 cents to end at $2.85 in an exchange of 18,707 shares, Elite Diagnostic closed 33 cents higher at $3.39 with investors transferring 10,050 units. Express Catering slipped 2 cents to $3.93 with 19,201 stock units traded, Fontana lost 3 cents to finish at $4.74 with 138,448 shares passing through the market, General Accident gained 8 cents to end at $6.08 in an exchange of 868 stock units. iCreate rose 4 cents to settle at 70 cents with 3,306 stocks changing hands, Indies Pharma gained 7 cents to close at $2.85 with135,634 stock units traded, Jamaican Teas gained 14 cents to finish at $4.69 with investors switching ownership of 48,000 stock units. Jetcon Corporation lost 7 cents to end at 85 cents in an exchange of 2,550 shares, KLE Group declined by 6 cents to finish at $1.36 with 1,000 shares changing hands, Lasco Distributors traded 539,293 stock units and advanced 10 cents to settle at $3.13. Lasco Financial rose 2 cents to close at $2.14 with investors transferring 3,750 units, Lasco Manufacturing fell 6 cents to end at $3.73 in an exchange of 1,136 shares, Limners and Bards slid 2 cents to $2.80 with 75,975 shares passing through the market. Lumber Depot finished 1 cent higher at $1.05 with 158,533 shares changing hands, Mailpac Group traded 639,248 stock units and gained 1 cent to settle at $2.01, Main Event rose 5 cents to end at $3.50 in an exchange of 501 shares. Medical Disposables advanced 8 cents to end at $4.70 with investors switching ownership of 500 stocks and Paramount Trading fell 5 cents to settle at $1.55 with 14,333 units crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, Derrimon Trading dropped 40 cents to close at $1.90, with 54,533 stocks changing hands.

JSE Main Market at September highs

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Friday, with the market rising after an equal number of stocks advanced and declined after an exchange of 143 percent more shares, with 36 percent more value than on Thursday, while closing the week at the highest point for September.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 1,015.97 points to 402,637.72, the Main Index gained 909.86 points to 367,526.77 and the JSE Financial Index added 0.84 points to settle at 97.14.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands, similar to Thursday, and closed with the prices of 16 stocks rising, 16 declining and 11 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.4 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 25,606,369 shares for $51,769,010  compared to 10,530,333 units at $38,041,905 on Thursday. Wigton Windfarm led the market with 86 percent of total volume in the trading of 22.05 million shares, followed by Transjamaican Highway with 6.2 percent and 1.58 million units and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 512,447 units for 2 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 95,497 units at   $1,203,930 for each security, in comparison to an average  of 244,891 shares at  $884,695  on Thursday. The average trade for the month to date ended at 233,735 units at  $1,206,845 for each security, in contrast to  187,575 units at $1,207,217. Trading month to date compares adversely to August’s average of 497,441 units at $3,201,918.

At the close of the market, Berger Paints climbed $1.19 to $11.85, in trading just 50 units, Eppley gained 50 cents to close at $24.50, with 1,200 units crossing the market, Eppley Caribbean Property Fund rose 99 cents to $49.99 after exchanging 5,350 stock units. First Rock Capital fell $1.05 to settle at $12, with 12,574  shares changing hands, Jamaica Broilers Group shed 36 cents to end at $24.60, after 14,625 stock units crossed the market, Kingston Wharves rose $1 to $47, in trading 377 units. Mayberry Jamaican Equities lost 55 cents with an exchange of 10,384 stock units to end at $7.52, Portland JSX advanced $1.48, in ending at $8.50 with investors switching ownership of 400 stock units, Proven Investments finished at $36.35, with gains of 4 cents in trading 7,476 stock units. Salada Foods declined by $2.99 to close at $25 in transferring 10,000 stock units, Scotia Group gained 50 cents in closing at $50.50, with 124,036 shares passing through the market, Seprod rose $2 to $55.50 after the transfer of 24,995 stock units. Supreme Ventures picked up 49 cents to settle at $14, with investors switching ownership of 165,785 shares and Wisynco Group shed 65 cents to end at $16.35, in exchanging 40,884 shares.

Proven pushes JSE USD higher – Friday

Proven Investments enjoyed a good day on the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday and helping to move the market higher after investors traded 37 percent more shares in the overall market at twice the value than on Thursday.  

Proven Investments traded the most shares on the JSE USD market.

At the close of the market, trading ended with three securities changing hands compared to five on Thursday and ended with the prices of two stocks rising, none declining and one remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index increased 3.82 points to settle at 187.49, with the average PE Ratio ending at 12.9 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 778,508 shares, accounting for  US$202,867 compared to 568,488 units at US$67,244 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 259,503 units changing hands at  US$67,622, in contrast to an average of 113,698 shares at US$13,449  on Thursday. Trading ended, with an average of 109,874 units for the month to date at US$14,315 in contrast to 91,171 units at US$7,651. By comparison, August ended with an average of 83,402 units for US$7,526.

The volume of stocks trading Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday dipped 12 percent below Thursday’s level with 10 percent more value, leaving the market to end mixed for the day and slightly up for the week.

Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange Head Quarters

The market closed with ten securities trading, with four stocks each advancing and declining and two remaining unchanged.  Market activity ended, with 87,618 shares trading for $1,437,480 compared to 100,010 shares for $1,306,330 on Thursday from 15 securities.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 8,762 units at $143,748 versus an average of 6,667 stock units for $87,089 for each security. For the month to date, trading resulted in an average of 12,392 units valued at $134,169 versus 12,702 at $133,351 on Thursday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index rose 2.86 points to 1,328.81, The All T&T Index lost 0.33 points to 1,800.65, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.83 points to close at 115.76.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than its last selling price and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising NCB Financial Group gained 19 cents to close at $8, with 39,000 shares crossing the market, Scotiabank ended 24 cents higher at $54.99, in exchanging 3,670 stock units. Trinidad Cement picked up 1 cent to settle at $2.01 trading 500 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL gained 6 cents in transferring 14,302 stock units to close at $16.16.
Stocks declining Clico Investments lost 1 cent to close at $25.49, with an exchange of 23,056 shares, National Enterprises shed 5 cents to settle at $4, trading 2,000 units. National Flour was down 2 cents, transferring 2,000 units to end at $1.83 and Prestige Holdings finished at $7.50, with a loss of 50 cents after exchanging just 12 units.
Stocks trading firmFirst Citizens Bank traded 2,078 units at $46.10 and One Caribbean Media closed at $5.24, with 1,000 shares changing hands.

Junior Market inches forward – Thursday

Trading ended, with 112 percent more shares on Thursday than Wednesday, in the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange and resulted in the market rising after more stocks rose than declined.

Trading concluded with 31 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 18 stocks rising, the prices of 11 stocks declining and two closing with prices unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index edged higher by 10.46 points to settle at 2,496.52. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,485,582 shares for $7,773,090 compared to 1,646,343 units at $5,834,341 on Wednesday.  Mailpac Group led trading with 75 percent of total volume and accounting for 2.61 million shares, followed by Everything Fresh with 6.3 percent or 220,271 units and  Lasco Distributors with 161,025 units for 4.6 percent.
Trading ended with an average of 112,438 units at $250,745 in contrast to 54,878 at $194,478 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 76,698 units at $223,185, in comparison to 71,685 units at $219,317  on Wednesday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426  units at $321,996.

Gains for JSE majors on Thursday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Thursday with the market rising after stocks gaining edged out declining ones as investors exchanged 91 percent more shares than on  Wednesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 1,047.56 points to 401,621.75, the Main Index rose 962.30 points to 366,616.91 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.01 points to close at 96.30.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands compared to 40 on Wednesday and closed with the prices of 18 stocks rising17 declining and eight remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.2 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 10,530,333 shares for $38,041,905 compared to 5,515,713  units at $38,353,717 on Wednesday. QWI Investments led trading with 38.4 percent of total volume, with 4.04 million shares, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 20.8 percent amounting to 2.19 million units and TransJamaican Highway, with 15 percent for 1.58 million units. Ciboney Group was the only other stock to exceed a million shares, ending with 1.04 million units changing hands.

Trading picks up for JSE USD market

Trading picked up on the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, 88 percent more shares trading than on Wednesday, resulting in five securities changing hands compared to two on Wednesday and ending, with two stocks falling and the rest closing unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index increased 1.85 points to settle at 183.67, with the average PE Ratio ending at 12.6 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 568,488 shares, accounting for US$67,244  compared to 302,184 units at US$71,447  on Wednesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 113,698 units changing hands at US$13,449, in contrast to an average of 151,092 shares at US$35,724 on Wednesday. Trading ended, with an average of 91,171 units for the month to date at US$7,561 in contrast to 85,243 units at US$6,125. By comparison, August ended with an average of 83,402 units for US$7,526.

Mixed trading in Trinidad stocks

Rising stocks just got squeezed out by decliners when trading ended on The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, leaving the market with mixed results after investors traded 26 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday.
The market closed with fifteen securities changing hands, with the prices of four stocks advancing, five stocks declining and six remaining unchanged.  Stocks trading resulted in 100,010 shares valued at $1,306,330 changing hands compared to 135,995 shares for $1,331,885 on Wednesday from 11 securities.
The average trade on Thursday amounted to 7,144 units at $93,309 versus an average of 12,363 stock units for $121,080 for each security. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 3.38 points to 1,325.95, The All T&T Index added 0.90 points to 1,800.98, while the Cross Listed Index shed 1.05 points to close at 114.93.

Trinidad Cement lost 1 cent to finish at $2, in trading 3,400 stock units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL shed 30 cents, transferring 1,826 units to close at $16.10.
Stocks trading firmAgostini’s had a transfer of 75 units at $24.70, Angostura Holdings closed at $17 after trading 1,651 units, First Caribbean International exchanged 275 units at $7.05. Guardian Holdings held firm at $19.50, with 500 stock units changing hands, Guardian Media traded 937 shares at $5 and JMMB Group remained at $1.84 after 36,916 shares crossing the market.

JSE Main Market dips on more volume

Trading picked up moderately on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on  Wednesday, with the market declining after thirteen percent more shares valued 40 percent more than on Tuesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,062.87 points to 400,574.19, the Main Index shed 921.81 points to 365,654.61 and the JSE Financial Index remained unchanged at 96.29.
Trading ended with 40 securities changing hands compared to 43 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 19 stocks rising, 11 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 15.3 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 5,515,713 shares for $38,353,717 compared to 4,882,753  units at $27,414,421  on Tuesday. Transjamaican Highway accounted for 37.3 percent of stocks trading with 2.06 million shares, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 23.7 percent and 1.31 million units and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 625,040 units for 11.3 percent market share.

The US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed trading on Wednesday, with the market declining after traded over 1,460 percent more shares than on Tuesday, resulting from trading just two securities similar to Tuesday with the price of one rising and one remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index lost 1.49 points to settle at 181.82, with the average PE Ratio ending at 13.2 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 302,184 shares, accounting for US$71,447 compared to 19,285 units at US$4,431 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 151,092 units changing hands for US$35,724, in contrast to an average of 9,643 shares at US$2,216 on Tuesday.
