Volume rises on TT stock market

After breaking for the Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resumed trading on Friday with increased volume and value of stocks over Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with two advancing, three declining and eight unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 570,976 shares valued at $1,744,334 compared to 100,174 shares for $1,354,857 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.05 points to close at 1,298.36. The All T&T Index was down 0.10 points to 1,760.42, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.01.
IC bid-offer Indicator The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Gainers One Caribbean Media gained 5 cents to close at $5.50 trading 3,575 units and Trinidad Cement rose 15 cents to $2, with exchanging 35,077 stock units.
Losers Guardian Media dropped 60 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $6, in transferring 1,132 units, Massy Holdings ended 10 cents lower at $57.50 trading 175 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent to finish at $18.99, after swapping 4,135 units.
Firm TradesAnsa McAL closed at $54.40 exchanging 180 units, Endeavour Holdings transferred 223 units at $12.60, First Caribbean International was unchanged at $7.25, with 2,450 units changing hands. Guardian Holdings ended at $18.50, with 11,750 stock units crossing the market, National Flour traded 508,825 shares at $1.90, Republic Financial Holdings transferred 2,265 units at $133, Scotiabank ended at $54.50 with an exchange of 639 units and Unilever Caribbean exchanged 500 units at $16.99.

Six stocks fall on TTSE – Wednesday

Declining stocks overwhelmed advancing ones on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday as trading contracted sharply from Tuesday’s levels leading the leading market indices to close higher when trading was complete.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with one advancing, six declining and six ending unchanged. Stocks passing through the market amounted to 100,174 units for $1,354,857 compared to 500,739 shares for $16,545,307 on Tuesday from 15 securities.
The T&T Composite Index gained 2.91 points to 1,298.41. The All T&T Index advanced by 7.37 points to 1,760.52, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.22 points to close at 113.01.

Gainers First Citizens Bank advanced by $1.47 to $45.97, transferring 5,340 stock units.
Losers Ansa McAL shed 10 cents trading 100 units in closing at $54.40, First Caribbean International ended 5 cents lower at $7.25 after exchanging 1,850 units, JMMB Group closed at $1.95, with a loss of 5 cents in transferring 2,100 units. One Caribbean Media swapped 1,400 units at $5.45, after losing 5 cents, Scotiabank dropped 49 cents to $54.50 trading 5,624 stock units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost $1 to $19 while exchanging 10,463 stock units.

TTSE trading jumps

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resulted in a surge in market activity with the US dollar segment coming to life with nearly a million units changing hands.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with two rising, five declining and eleven holding firm. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 1,221,907 shares valued at $1, $7,269,983 compared to 188,658 shares for $1,302,922 on Tuesday.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 1.45 points to 1,281.86. The All T&T Index shed 1.30 points to 1,724.58, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.22 points to close at 113.43.

Price movements on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday resulted in slippage in the market index with an equal number of rising and falling stocks after four suffered a large price declines.  
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.06 points to 1,270.95. The All T&T Index declined by 2.63 points to 1,704.96, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.35 points to 113.16.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading with six stocks rising, six declining and three closing with prices unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 395,917 shares valued at $11,097,128 compared to 501,256 shares for $18,906,240 on Thursday.

More cash chased TTSE stocks – Tuesday

The volume of stocks trading dropped on Tuesday, but the more important measure, the value of stocks changing hands rose over Monday’s levels as the prices of most stocks declined compared to those increasing.
At the close of the market, the T&T Composite Index gained 3.33 points to close at 1,261.70. The All T&T Index advanced 9.02 points to 1,687.60, while the Cross Listed Index pulled back 0.33 points to 113.02.
Investors exchanged eleven securities while driving the prices of three stocks higher and pushed down prices of five and left three unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 222,052 shares at $3,973,067 compared to 357,881 shares for $2,297,587 on Monday.

The volume of stocks passing through the market fell to 221,215 shares valued at $2,136,051 from 1,005,498 shares for $14,272,854 on Friday.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange slipped at the close of trading on Tuesday to continue the slide that started early March as oil-dependent Trinidad & Tobago faces significant economic challenges with the price trading well under US$30 on the world market.
The T&T Composite Index slid 3.68 points to 1,262.38. The All T&T Index declined by 5.32 points to end at 1,693.04 while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.27 points to close at 112.46.
The market closed with two stocks rising and five stocks declining, while six were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market rose to 279,123 shares valued at $3,953,256 compared to 200,057 shares for $7,534,924 on Monday.

Slide continues for Trinidad stocks

T&TSE gave back all of 2019 gains in less than four months.

The Trinidad and Tobago Exchange closed trading on Monday with the market index taking another hit and gave up all the gains recorded last year the market closed below the January 2019 low as trading levels fell below that on Friday.
At the close of trading, the T&T Composite Index fell by 8.92 points to 1,266.06. The All T&T Index dropped 17.71 points to end at 1,698.36 while the Cross Listed Index remained at 112.73.
The market closed with two stocks rising and four stocks declining, while seven were unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market fell to 200,057 shares valued at $7,534,924 compared to 347,297 shares for $9,821,563 on Friday.
