After breaking for the Corpus Christi holiday on Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange resumed trading on Friday with increased volume and value of stocks over Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with two advancing, three declining and eight unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 570,976 shares valued at $1,744,334 compared to 100,174 shares for $1,354,857 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.05 points to close at 1,298.36. The All T&T Index was down 0.10 points to 1,760.42, while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.01.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Gainers│ One Caribbean Media gained 5 cents to close at $5.50 trading 3,575 units and Trinidad Cement rose 15 cents to $2, with exchanging 35,077 stock units.
Losers│ Guardian Media dropped 60 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $6, in transferring 1,132 units, Massy Holdings ended 10 cents lower at $57.50 trading 175 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent to finish at $18.99, after swapping 4,135 units.
Firm Trades│ Ansa McAL closed at $54.40 exchanging 180 units, Endeavour Holdings transferred 223 units at $12.60, First Caribbean International was unchanged at $7.25, with 2,450 units changing hands. Guardian Holdings ended at $18.50, with 11,750 stock units crossing the market, National Flour traded 508,825 shares at $1.90, Republic Financial Holdings transferred 2,265 units at $133, Scotiabank ended at $54.50 with an exchange of 639 units and Unilever Caribbean exchanged 500 units at $16.99.

MPC Caribbean Clean Energy closed 10 cents lower at $1, with 930,714 shares crossing the market and Trinidad Cement lost 5 cents to finish at $1.90 in transferring 28,596 stock units.
First Citizens Bank fell $4 after trading 5,145 units to end at $44. Massy Holdings settled at $55, with a loss of $1 in switching ownership of 28,173 stock units, One Caribbean Media closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.53, after losing 46 cents while exchanging 2,135 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent transferring 835 units and closed at $16.49.
The volume of stocks trading dropped on Tuesday, but the more important measure, the value of stocks changing hands rose over Monday’s levels as the prices of most stocks declined compared to those increasing.
Losers│ Ansa McAL shed 9 cents transferring 8,399 stock units at $54.40, JMMB Group lost 1 cent with an exchange of 27,042 shares to finish at $1.95, NCB Financial closed 5 cents lower at $7.45, with 25,102 shares crossing the market. Republic Financial Holdings settled at $132.20, with a loss of 52 cents in trading 1,651 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent to close at $16.87 after swapping 1,540 units.
At the close, the T&T Composite Index declined 5.59 points to 1,257.09, the All T&T Index dropped 11.10 points to end at 1,675.05 while the Cross Listed Index remained at 113.50.
Republic Financial Holdings shed 50 cents in exchanging 241 units to close at $135 and Trinidad & Tobago NGL closed at $17, with a loss of 10 cents with 5,716 stock units changing hands.
At the close, the T&T Composite Index gained 0.03 points to 1,260.48. The All T&T Index rose 0.06 points to end at 1,681.79 while the Cross Listed Index was unchanged at 113.50.
Losers│ Angostura Holdings fell 46 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $14, with 1,000 stock units crossing the market, Guardian Holdings lost 5 cents transferring 20,030 shares and closed at $17.95 and Scotiabank shed 10 cents to end at $54.60, with an exchange of 1,177 stock units.
The T&T Composite Index rose 3.27 points to 1,260.45. The All T&T Index dropped 10.43 points to end at 1,681.73 while the Cross Listed Index gained 2.34 points at 113.50.
Firm Trades│ Ansa Merchant Bank closed at $36.30, with an exchange of 30 units, Calypso Macro Index Fund traded 370 units at $15.88, First Citizens transferred 806 stock units at $38.15, JMMB Group closed with a transfer 500 units at $2. Massy Holdings remained at $50, in an exchange of 1,733 stock units, National Flour closed at $1.20, with 10,700 shares crossing the market. Point Lisas swapped 130 units at $3.45, Republic Financial Holdings traded unchanged at $135, with 100 units changing hands and Unilever Caribbean traded 9,032 shares at $18.02.
The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange slipped at the close of trading on Tuesday to continue the slide that started early March as oil-dependent Trinidad & Tobago faces significant economic challenges with the price trading well under US$30 on the world market.
JMMB Group slipped 5 cents to $1.95, in exchanging 54,676 stock units, Prestige Holdings lost 16 cents trading 373 units and closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $7.90. Republic Financial Holdings declined by $5.20 to $136.05, with 1,500 stock units changing hands and Scotiabank shed 24 cents transferring 1,119 units at a 52 weeks’ low of $54.75.
Republic Financial Holdings ended at $141.25, with a loss of 23 cents in exchanging 2,451 stock units. Scotiabank fell 1 cent with 5,660 units share changing hands to close at $54.99 and West Indian Tobacco declined by $2.85 to a 52 weeks’ low of $30.90, with 1,976 stock units crossing the market.
