Stocks tumble on TTSE

Stocks movement was mostly down at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday and ending in only one stock advancing. The market closed with a 49 percent fall in the volume of shares exchanged, but with the value down 47 percent from Thursday.
The market closed with 15 securities trading, up from nineteen on Thursday, and ended with one stock advancing, six declining, including two closing at a 52 weeks’ low and eight remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 46,072 shares for $498,067 compared to 89,782 shares valued $936,254 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 3,071 units at $33,204 versus an average of 4,733 units at $49,308 for each security on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 7,500 shares at $107,666 compared to 7,978 units at $115,701 on Thursday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.41 points to 1,298.25, the All T&T Index rose 0.81 points to 1,741.12, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 115.62.
The Investors Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising Trinidad Cement, the sole stock advancing in the day’s trade, closed at $2.20, with gains of 14 cents after exchanging 10,000 shares.
Stocks declining Guardian Holdings shed 25 cents to end at $20.15, in transferring 41 units, Guardian Media, finished 25 cents lower at 52 weeks’ low of $4, with 1,010 units changing hands, L.J Williams B share lost 4 cents to finish at $1.40 trading 140 units. Massy Holdings declined by $1.13 to close at $57.37, with an exchange of a mere 17 units, Scotiabank ended at 52 weeks’ low of $54, after losing 35 cents transferring 225 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 10 cents trading 9,804 shares to settle at $14.65.

TTSE stocks move higher

Stocks closed higher on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday with a four to one ratio and ended with an exchange of 65 percent fewer shares at 72 percent less value than on Friday.
The market closed with nine securities trading, a drop from fifteen on Friday, and closed with four stocks advancing, one declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 44,369 shares for $653,487 compared to 127,998 shares valued $2,370,997 on Friday.

Tuesday volume jumps on TTSE

The total value and volume of stocks trading jumped sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with Clico Investments contributing largely to the more than seven times rise in shares traded on Monday.
Trading ended, with 505,169 shares for $13,850,155 passing through the market, compared to 59,653 shares at $587,579 on Monday from 12 securities changing hands, down from fifteen on Monday, leading to four stocks advancing, two declining and six remaining unchanged.
The average trade for the day amounted to 42,097 units at $1,154,180 versus an average of 3.977 units at $39,172 for each security on Monday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 16,164 shares at $270,737 compared to 14,787 units at $282,877 on Monday. In contrast, September closed with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.
The T&T Composite Index advanced 1.47 points to 1,309.02, the All T&T Index rose 0.08 points to 1,758.71, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.39 to close at 116.15.

Trading climbed sharply on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday with 479 percent more shares changing hands than on Tuesday and values soaring 1,157 percent due mainly to large dollar trades by Clico Investments, Trinidad and Tobago NGL and Republic Financial Holdings.

Republic Holdings controlled the largest block of funds in trading on Wednesday.

The market closed with 14 securities trading, up from thirteen on Tuesday and closed with six stocks advancing, four declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 199,471 shares for $8,074,531 compared to 34,476 shares valued $642,275 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 14,248 units at $576,752 versus an average of 2,652 units at $49,406 for each security on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 14,106 shares at $282,706 compared to 14,096 units at $259,316 on Tuesday. In contrast, September closed with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.

The market closed with eighteen securities trading with the prices of four stocks advancing, six stocks declining, while eight closed unchanged.  The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 478,583 shares valued at $6,975,688 compared to 59,390 shares for $1,206,644 on Thursday from 13 securities.

Stock prices tumbled on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the market declining after investors traded 183 percent more shares than on Wednesday after the market closed for the public holiday on Thursday.

Declining stocks edged out rising prices on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange when trading ended on Wednesday, with the leading market indices slipping after 75 percent fewer shares changed hands than on Tuesday but at twice the value.
