Dolphin trades 230M shares

The Jamaica stock market is off to a spirited start on Wednesday which saw Sagicor Investments crossing 227.5 million Dolphin Cove shares and buying another 2.1 million from other brokers. The main market indices are down and the junior of index is up with a number of new 52 weeks’ high being achieved.
JSE int 18-11-15Notable trades are, Caribbean Cream with 10,000 units at a new high of $5 after adding 40 cents, Dolphin Cove with 229,610,218 units at a new high of $16.03 with a rise of $2.33, Cable & Wireless with 690,670 units changing hands up to $2, but last traded at $1.91, Jamaica Broilers with 914,200 shares changing hands at $8.76. Jamaica Producers traded 1,156,535 units at $22.51, down by $1.50, Sagicor Group has seen 508,350 shares changing hands at $16.58, Sagicor Real Estate X Fund had 1,043,832 units at $9.81 and Seprod with 304,359 shares rising $1.85 to $17.80.
The number of securities trading climbed sharply to 28 securities changing hands with a volume of 234,954,186 units as 14 stocks gained and 7 declined after 75 minutes of trading.
The All Jamaican Composite index fell 135.44 points to 154,934.62, the JSE Market Index declined 121.19 points to 139,570.88 the JSE combined index rose 254.07 points to be at 146,679.37 and the junior market index climbed 41.27 points to 1,669.02.

The Jamaica stock market continued its bullish run but with slightly more stocks rising than declining. The market closed with activity in 39 securities, leading to 12,548,183 units valued at $127,385,981 changing hands, in all market segments.
A total of 18 securities rose and 16 declined with 6 stocks ending at 52 weeks’ closing high and 2 at intraday high.
The JSE Market Index climbed 1,390.00 points to 139,692.07 the all Jamaica Composite Index gained 1,553.41 points to end at 155,070.06 and the JSE combined index rose by 1,236.54 points to end at 146,425.30.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator had a reading of 11 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
In trading, Cable and Wireless closed with 2,128,091 shares changing hands, after rising 40 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $1.80 but after trading at $1.86, JSE sum 17-11-15Carreras fell 94 cents to end at $56.06 with 86,869 units trading, Ciboney traded 31,000 shares at 12 cents and ended with a bid to buy 2,263,800 shares at 12 cents. Desnoes & Geddes ended with 63,357 shares trading at $30.02, Gleaner Company traded at 391,191 shares and gained 1 cent to end at $1.92, Grace Kennedy traded 767,772 shares and closed with loss of 29 cents at $74.01, Jamaica Broilers traded 147,050 shares to close at $8.80 with a gain of 1 cent. Jamaica Producers lost 99 cents while trading 4,924 shares at $24.01, The Jamaica Stock Exchange lost $1.50 in trading 75,600 shares, to end at $12, JMMB Group lost $1.39 while trading 198,116 shares to close at $8.51. Mayberry Investments gained 70 cents and closed with 4,310,131 units trading to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $5, but with only 200 shares trading at $5, and 1,020 at $4.65 with the rest all trading below $4.50. National Commercial Bank closed with a rise of 56 cents as 218,184 shares changing hands to end at $36.56, after trading at an intraday high of $38. JSE Fn Qts 17-11-15Pan Jamaican Investment closed at $88.27 after trading 43,522 shares to gain 4 cents, Pulse Investments traded 108,658 shares with a rise of 20 cents to close at $2, Radio Jamaica traded at $5 after 26,867 shares changed hands, Sagicor Group gained 14 cents in trading 271,321 units at $16.57 at the close. Scotia Group ended with 105,854 shares changing hands, closed with a fall of 17 cents at $26.33, Scotia Investments lost 48 cents and ended at $27.02 with 17,800 shares changing hands, Seprod rose 2 cents to $15.95 with 24,855 shares trading and Supreme Ventures ended at $4.75 after losing 5 cents with 65,893 shares changing hands.

The JSE off to robust start

The Jamaica stock market is off to a flying start on Tuesday with the all Jamaica index up 1,616 points as Cable & Wireless with units changing hands traded up JSE int 17-11-15to $1.80, but last traded at $1.76, Grace Kennedy rose to $75, National Commercial Bank traded at $37 and Pan Jamaican Investments is at $92.
The number of securities trading climbed sharply to 27 securities changing hands with a volume of 2,150,673 units as 10 stocks gained and 8 declined after 78 minutes of trading.
The All Jamaican Composite index gained 1,616.16 points to 155,132.81, the JSE Market Index climbed 1,446.15 points to 139,748.22 the JSE combined index rose 1,314.17 points to be at 146,502.93 and the junior market index declined 5.74 points to 1,630.51.
Subsequently Mayberry Investments trading more than 4 million shares up to $5 and C&W was up to $1.86.

The market closed with activity in 41 securities, leading to 9,839,984 units valued at $50,044,573 changing hands, in all market segments. A total of 15 securities rose and 12 declined with 4 stocks ending at 52 weeks’ closing high and 2 at intraday high.
The JSE Market Index fell 140.31 points to 138,302.07 the all Jamaica Composite Index declined 156.81 points to end at 153,516.65 and the JSE combined index eased by 20.44 points to end at 145,188.76.

The JSE in moderate trading

The Jamaica stock market is off to a relatively moderate start on Monday, but 11 securities in the junior market has so far traded. Trading in main market stocks resulted in two securities having over 100,000 units trading, as Cable & Wireless had 482,450 units changing hands at $1.48 and Desnoes & Geddes with 201,196 units at $30 but Caribbean Flavours had 318,048 units changing hands at $5. The Jamaica stock market is off to a relatively brisk start on Friday morning with the All Jamaican Composite index gaining 713.67 points to 154,298.93 point, the JSE Market Index gained 638.59 points to JSE int 13-11-15r139,002.05 the JSE combined index climbed 582.06 points to be at 145,644.14 and the junior market index eased by 2.34 points to its highest level of 1,613.23.
The number of securities trading remains around 30 mark in early trading with 30 securities changing hands with a volume of 5,998,014 units as 9 stocks gained and 9 declined after 75 minutes of trading. Cable and Wireless, the stock traded 4,151,780 units up to $1.50 but last traded at $1.45.

The bulls continue to roam on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday as more stocks continue to gain than those declining. Helping the move on Wednesday was the impact that results had on some companies’ stock price. Sagicor Group and Jamaica Producers Group were two of the stocks that jumped sharply, helping the market to move up.

Junior market breaks 1,600

The Jamaica stock market is off to a relatively slow start on Wednesday morning with the All Jamaican Composite index gaining 451.31 points to 152,639.66 point, the JSE Market Index gained 403.83 points to JSE int 11-11-15137,517.33 the JSE combined index climbed 447.50 points to be at 144,165.19 and the junior market index rose 7.42 points to its highest level of 1,604.59.
The number of securities trading climbed sharply to 33 securities changing hands with a volume of 195,221,088 units as 12 stocks gained and 7 declined after 90 minutes of trading.
Notable trades took place in Cable and Wireless, the stock traded 1,189,730 units up to $1.44 but last traded at $1.35, Mayberry Investments crossed 190 million Caribbean Producers shares at $3.06, Jamaica Broilers traded 2,879,886 units at $9.20, Jamaica Producers traded at $25, in response to good results for the September quarter.
