Juniors barely eked out record close

Dolphin Cove closed at a new high of $22 on Monday.

The Junior Market just eked out a record close on Monday, with the index edging higher by 0.58 points above the record on Wednesday last, as the overall index closed 29.26 points higher at 3,369.56.
At the close of trading 24 securities traded, compared to 20 on Friday as 10 advancing and 8 declined. Overall, 1,187,417 units valued at $9,868,439 changed hands, compared to 2,282,020 units valued at $12,200,612 on Friday. Trading ended with 6 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 6 with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 49,476 units for an average value of $411,185 compared to of 114,101 units for an average value of $610,031, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 88,211 units and $582,803 while at the close of the prior day, 90,794 units and $594,244. The average volume and value for April ended at 502,597 units and $2,768,003.
At the close of the market, AMG Packaging lost 5 cents to end at $4.95 with 47,458 units changing hands, CAC 2000 lost 20 cents with 24,400 shares changing hands, to close at $7.30, Caribbean Cream closed trading with 21,295 units to end with a loss of 9 cents to end at $8.40, Caribbean Producers rose 5 cents and ended at $3.90 with 100 shares trading, Consolidated Bakeries jumped 40 cents in trading 9,599 shares to close at $2.87, C2W Music had 200 units changing hands to close at 50 cents. Derrimon Trading ended at $8.50 with 78,366 shares changing hands, Dolphin Cove gained $1 to end at a record of $22 with 4,737 shares trading, Eppley ended with 451,928 units changing hands after rising $1.90 to end at a record close of $12, General Accident rose 5 cents and closed trading with 1,200 shares at $3.10, ISP Finance ended at $28 with 7,778 units changing hands. Eppley jumps $5.20 with first 2017 trade

Eppley hits new high of $10.10.

The Junior Market listed Eppley finally traded at a record of $10.10 on Friday, after a number of attempts recently to trade at $12 failed. The stock split 150 to 1 last year and has not traded since, with the last trade before today, being 9,000 units, at $735 on August 26 last year.
At the close of trading on Friday the index put on 13.46 points to close at 3,340.30 with
20 securities trading, compared to 24 on Thursday as 5 advancing and 4 declined. Overall, 2,282,020 units valued at $12,200,612 changed hands, compared to 2,279,741 units valued at $11,894,079 on Thursday. Trading ended with 6 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 6 with lower offers.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 114,101 units for an average value of $610,031, compared to of 94,989 units for an average value of $495,587, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 90,794 units and $594,244 while at the close of the prior day, 89,129 units and $593,116. Sagicor hammers JSE index – Thursday

Sagicor Group traded 2.2 million shares on Thursday & fell $3.49 in early trading.

Sagicor Group traded 2.275 million shares and fell $3.49 to $30.01 by mid-morning on Thursday and was the main contributor to the more than 3,600 points fall in the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed in the morning session. The price recovered to close back at the closing price of the previous day but the market closed with more losses with Mayberry Investments trading more than 10 million shares with a loss of 57 cents.
The market closed on Thursday with 29 securities changing hands with 3 trading in the US dollar market. At the close, 10 stocks advanced and 10 declined. Trading levels in the main market ended at 14,040,895 units valued at $147,385,397 compared to 2,068,486 units valued at $25,621,686 at the close on Wednesday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 12,880 units valued at US$3,794.
The All Jamaica Composite Index dived 4,312.28 points to close at 259,935.85 and the JSE Market Index sank 3,928.98 points to finish at 236,830.99. The JSE US dollar market index added 2.34 points to close at 221.11.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market hit a new close on Wednesday.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended at another record close on Wednesday with the all Jamaica composite Index rising 776 points to 6 consecutive days of record close.
The market closed with 27 securities changing hands, including 3 trading in the US dollar market. At the close, 9 stocks advanced and 8 declined.
Trading levels in the main market ended at 2,091,191 units valued at $25,621,686 compared to 4,295,095 units valued at $1,350,559,147 on Friday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 22,705 units valued at US$10,242.
The All Jamaica Composite Index rose 776.19 points to close at 264,248.13, still below the 265,287.63 points reached during the morning session on Tuesday. The JSE Market Index climbed 707.19 points to finish at 240,759.97 and the JSE US dollar market index remained at 218.77 points.

I$P Finance hits a new high of $35 on Wednesday up 1,650% since listing last year March.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange logged another record close on Wednesday but with a modest rise of just 9.84 points to a record close of 3,368.98 with gains of 29.9 percent for 2017 to date. Trading levels were down sharply again compared to Tuesday’s levels.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 22 compared to 23 on Tuesday with 7 advancing and 10 declining. Overall, 1,425,514 units valued at $10,043,460 changed hands, compared to 3,285,925 units valued at $19,269,876 on Tuesday. Trading ended with 7 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 6 with lower offers. Just one stocks ended trading at new closing high at the end of trading.

Berger Paints ended at a 52 weeks’ high of $23.50 on Tuesday

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange shot up more than 3,300 points in the morning session to an intraday high on with all Jamaica Composite index up by 3,327.59 points to a new record, at 10:45 AM the index hit 265,287.63 points. The market failed to hold on to such heady gains and fell back later to end at a record close.
At the close of the market the All Jamaica Composite Index advanced 1,511.90 points to record close of 263,471.94, the JSE Market Index gained 1,377.52 points to finish at record closing high of 240,052.78 and the JSE US dollar market index rose 0.45 points to close at 218.77.
Trading ended with 29 securities changing hands including 2 trading in the US dollar market. At the close, 10 stocks advanced and 7 declined.
Trading levels in the main market ended at 115,967,557 units valued at $1,350,559,147 compared to 4,670,861 units valued at $78,264,470 at the close on Monday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 19,645 units valued at US$5,789.

Juniors up 30% in 2017 for record close

Junior Market stocks closed at a nother new high with gains of 29.5% for 2017 to date.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange after adding 71.57 points on Monday rose 34.71 points on Tuesday to a record close of 3,359.14 with gains of 29.5 percent for 2017 to date, with reduced trading levels compared to Monday’s levels.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 23 compared to 20 on Monday with 7 advancing and 7 declining. Overall, 3,285,925 units valued at $19,269,876 changed hands, compared to 5,640,429 units valued at $30,941,266 on Monday. Trading ended with 4 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 4 with lower offers. Just one stock ended trading at new closing high at the close of trading on Tuesday.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 142,866 units for an average value of $837,821, compared to 282,021 units for an average value of $1,547,063, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 90,668 units and $612,627, while at the close of the prior day, 85,923 units and $592,155. The average volume and value for April ended at 502,597 units and $2,768,003.
At the close of the market, AMG Packaging gained 49 cent to end at $5.15 with 4,940 units changing hands, Caribbean Cream traded 4,486 changing hands, to close with a loss of 20 cents at $7.30, Caribbean Flavours traded 162,937 shares at $11, Caribbean Producers ended at $4 with 47,500 shares trading, Consolidated Bakeries traded 299,082 shares to close at $2.50, C2W Music had 40,534 units changing hands to close at 45 cents, Derrimon Trading fell 10 cents and ended at $7.50 with 57,169 shares changing hands, Dolphin Cove ended trading at $21 with 24,100 shares changing hands, General Accident added 4 cents and closed trading with 9,000 shares at $3.09, Honey Bun ended with 8,520 shares changing hands at $7.75, after falling 20 cents, ISP Finance climbed $2 to end at fresh new high of $30 with 10,921 units changing hands. Juniors jump 71 points to record close

Lasco Financial traded at a new record high on Tuesday.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange surged 71.57 points end at 3,324.43 on Monday as four stocks traded during the day at new record highs as the level of trading climbs sharply over that on Friday.
At the close of the market, the number of securities trading, ended at 20 compared to 20 on Friday with 9 advancing and 7 declining. Overall, 5,640,429 units valued at $30,941,266 changed hands, compared to 1,367,990 units valued at $8,114,770 on Friday. Trading ended with 4 stocks having bids higher than their last sale prices and 4 with lower offers. Two stocks ended trading at new closing highs and two traded at an intraday highs.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average of 282,021 units for an average value of $1,547,063, compared to 62,181 units for an average value of $368,853, on the previous trading day. The average volume and value for the month to date are 85,923 units and $592,155, while at the close of the prior day, 66,313 units and $496,664. The average volume and value for April ended at 502,597 units and $2,768,003.
At the close of the market, AMG Packaging gained 1 cent to end at $4.66 with 22,494 units changing hands, Cargo Handlers fell 50 cents in trading just 177 shares at $20 Caribbean Cream closed trading with 36,063 changing hands, to close $1 down at $7.50, Caribbean Flavours traded 9,800 shares at $11, after rising 49 cents, Consolidated Bakeries rose 10 cents in trading 43,073 shares to close at $2.50, C2W Music had 31,500 units changing hands to close with a loss of 5 cents at 45 cents, Derrimon Trading fell 10 cents and ended at $7.60 with 24,800 shares changing hands, Dolphin Cove gained $1 to end at $21 with 4,900 shares trading, General Accident fell 24 cents and closed trading with 1,972,996 shares at $3.05, Honey Bun ended with 4,935 shares changing hands at $7.95, ISP Finance jumped $4 to end at record close of $28 with 46,731 units changing hands. Jamaican Teasclosed trading with 21,030 shares, with a gain of 20 cents at $4.95. Carreras climbed to a 52 weeks’ high of $81.95.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed a record high on Monday following record close on Friday. The All Jamaica Composite Index advanced 213.39 points to close at a record 261,960.04 the JSE Market Index gained 194.42 points to finish at new record of 238,675.26 and the JSE US dollar market index lost 0.45 points to close at 218.32.
Trading levels in the main market ended at 4,670,861 units valued at $78,264,470 compared to 4,918,036 units valued at $117,841,841 at the close on Friday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 10,855 units valued at US$4,017. At the close, 28 securities changed hands in the main market and 3 in the US dollar market as 15 stocks advanced and 8 declined including 4 that traded at 52 weeks’ high during the day.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading in the main and US dollar markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading shows 12 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 2 with lower offers.
The main market ended trading with an average of 166,816 units valued at $2,795,160 for each security traded, compared to an average of 223,547 units valued at $ $5,356,447 on Friday.
