The Junior Market just eked out a record close on Monday, with the index edging higher by 0.58 points above the record on Wednesday last, as the overall index closed 29.26 points higher at 3,369.56.
At the close of trading 24 securities traded, compared to 20 on Friday as 10 advancing and 8 declined. Overall, 1,187,417 units valued at $9,868,439 changed hands, compared to 2,282,020 units valued at $12,200,612 on Friday. Eppley jumps $5.20 with first 2017 trade

The Junior Market listed Eppley finally traded at a record of $10.10 on Friday, after a number of attempts recently to trade at $12 failed. The stock split 150 to 1 last year and has not traded since, with the last trade before today, being 9,000 units, at $735 on August 26 last year.

Sagicor Group traded 2.2 million shares on Thursday & fell $3.49 in early trading.

Sagicor Group traded 2.275 million shares and fell $3.49 to $30.01 by mid-morning on Thursday and was the main contributor to the more than 3,600 points fall in the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed in the morning session. The price recovered to close back at the closing price of the previous day but the market closed with more losses with Mayberry Investments trading more than 10 million shares with a loss of 57 cents.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange shot up more than 3,300 points in the morning session to an intraday high on with all Jamaica Composite index up by 3,327.59 points to a new record, at 10:45 AM the index hit 265,287.63 points. The market failed to hold on to such heady gains and fell back later to end at a record close.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed a record high on Monday following record close on Friday. The All Jamaica Composite Index advanced 213.39 points to close at a record 261,960.04 the JSE Market Index gained 194.42 points to finish at new record of 238,675.26 and the JSE US dollar market index lost 0.45 points to close at 218.32.
Trading levels in the main market ended at 4,670,861 units valued at $78,264,470 compared to 4,918,036 units valued at $117,841,841 at the close on Friday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 10,855 units valued at US$4,017. At the close, 28 securities changed hands in the main market and 3 in the US dollar market as 15 stocks advanced and 8 declined including 4 that traded at 52 weeks’ high during the day.
