Supreme bumps up dividend again

SupremeVenturesSVLlogo_150x150Supreme Ventures approved the payment of an interim dividend of 14 cents to be made on 27th May 2015 to shareholders on record as at 14th May 2015 representing an increase of 55.6 percent over the amount paid in 2014.
The approved payment translates to 16 percent rate of return per annum. In addition the company will also be paying the final portion of the special dividend they declared on 2nd March 2015.
The company announced in March, a final ordinary dividend for the year ended December 2014 of 8 cents per share, payable on March 21 and a special dividend of 23 cents per share to be paid on March 21 and 4 cents per share payable on May 27.
SVL paid dividends of 3 cents per share on January 8, last SupremeVenturesSVL_150x150year as well as 3 cents in March, 9 cents in May, another 3 in September and 5 cents per stock on December 9, last year. The final regular dividend for 2014 brings the total relating to the 2014 profit to 19 cents per share or 54 percent of profits for the year. The total dividend payment just approved by the company totals 31 cents per share and is just short of the total profit for 2014, of 35.2 cents per share.
The company just reported a 20 percent increase in after tax to $405 million for the three-month period to March. The latest announcement of the results and dividends are likely to push the stocks much higher in the coming week.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange, ended on another strong note, with the largest number of stocks gaining for a long time. The market closed out April with big gains for the month. At the end of March the all Jamaica Composite Index was at 92,415.82 and gained 10,576.43 points or 11.4 percent during April.
The strong market activity on Thursday, resulted in the prices of 23 stocks rising, 5 declining as 34 securities changed hands, ending in 7,695,548 units trading, valued at $109,643,238, in all market segments. The JSE Market Index gained 1,987.22 points to 93,264.43, the JSE sm 30-4-15JSE All Jamaican Composite index jumped 2,221.80 points to close at 102,992.25 and the JSE combined index gained 2,133.14 points to close at 95,042.74. At one point during trading, the market recorded more than 3,000 points gain on the all Jamaica Composite index.

Hardware & Lumber had only 480 units changing hands, gained 45 cents to end at $7.50,JSE fn qts 30-4-15 Jamaica Broilers closed with 24,500 shares at $4.75, after falling by 35 cents, Jamaica Producers lost 25 cents with 60,000 shares to end at $17.25. JMMB Group gained 50 cents and closed at a new 52 weeks’ high of $8 with 13,250 shares changing hands, Kingston Wharves traded 16,105 units with the price declining 56 cents to $5.95. Mayberry Investments had 711,200 units changing hands a new 52 weeks’ high of $2.60, National Commercial Bank traded 3,066,787 shares between $29.50 and the closing price and closed with a gain of $1.58 at a new 52 weeks’ high of $30.08. Pan Jamaican Investment price fell $3 with only 885 units trading at $57, Sagicor Group had 290,390 shares and closed 21 cents higher for a new 52 weeks’ high of $11.01. Scotia Group traded 58,380 shares to gain 25 cents and end at a new 52 weeks’ high of $23.25, Scotia Investments traded just 910 units to gain $2.90 and closed at $27, Seprod had only 630 units trading, to end at $18.50 and Supreme Ventures traded 515,400 units to close at $3.50, but traded as high as $3.75, for a new 52 weeks intraday high.

Main Market| The JSE Market Index gained 1,419.14 points to 91,277.21, the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index rose 1,586.66 points to close at 100,770.45 and the JSE Combined Index gained 1,533.53 points to close at 92,909.60. Main Market| The JSE Market Index gained 1,387.58 points to 89,858.07, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 1,551.38 points to close at 99,183.79 and the JSE combined index climbed by 1,275.93 points to close at 91,376.07. At the close the market had pierced the resistance just under 99,000 points on the all Jamaica composite Index and seems poised to test the next major level of 109,000 points.

The stock was responding to a big jump in the company’s first quarter results for 2015 with profit after tax of $248 million versus just $35 million the year before, these results suggest that full year earnings could rise to $1 per share, as such the stock has much more room to run. Monday’s reading suggest a continuation of the bullish tone, although it suggest that there could be less stocks gaining in the main market than on Monday.

Jamaica Stock Exchange closed with 37,512 units trading at $2.90, after putting on 89 cents gain, to end at a 52 weeks’ high, National Commercial Bank traded at a new 52 weeks’ intraday high of $28, with 840,067 JSE fn qts 27-4-15 shares changing hands, the stock closed at a 52 weeks’ high of $27.01 with an increase of 29 cents. Pan Jamaican Investment traded just 500 shares to close with a gain of 75 cents at $56.03, Sagicor Group traded 34,338 units at $10.61, to record a gain of 6 cents, Scotia Group had 30,477 shares trading, to close at $22.66 for a 66 cents gain, to close at a 52 weeks’ high. Supreme Ventures closed at a 52 weeks’ high of $3.10 with just 20,000 shares changing hands and put on 23 cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 76,000 units at $3.07 as the price slipped by 13 cents.

National Commercial Bank traded 508,263 shares at a new 52 weeks’ high of $27 on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday morningJSE int 27-4-15 and helped to push the all Jamaican Index by 388 points. The stock subsequently traded at $28, while Supreme Ventures traded 20,000 units at a new 52 weeks’ high of $3.10.
Trading resulted in 13 securities trading including 3 from the junior market. A total of 658,835 units traded at 10.45am. Carreras traded 3,878 units but slipped back $1 to $45. Stocks not trading as yet but look promising are Caribbean Producers with the bid at $2.70 to buy 18,348 shares, the stock last traded at $2.70 on Friday. AMG Packaging had a bid for 21,262 shares at $2.33 compared to last sale of $2.26, Caribbean Cream with a bid to buy 535,715 shares at 70 cents versus last sale of 65 cents, Dolphin Cove with 95,864 shares on the bid at $9.20 where it traded this morning, General Accident Insurance having a bid for 663,735 units at $1.70 the same as the last price.

Radio Jamaica lost 25 cents in trading just 1,000 shares at $1.75,Sagicor Group posted 65,992 shares to end at $10.57 and gain just 2 cents. Scotia Group swapped JSE qts f 23-4-1548,477 shares to close at $22, after trading at $22.50, Scotia Investments had 10,000 shares changing hands at $23.80, for an increase of 20 cents. Seprod put on $1.93 but with a mere 200 shares to end at $16, Supreme Ventures had the ownership of 51,600 units changing to close with a gain of 11 cents at $2.95. Kingston Wharves traded just 4,00 shares but ended up gaining 50 cents to close at $6.40, Scotia Investments gained 49 cents in trading 1,200 units at $23.50 and Supreme Ventures traded 4,000 units at $2.80 by gaining 30 cents.
