NCB pushes JSE to another record close
At the close of trading the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 422.80 points to close at a new closing high of 192,679.68 with the year to date gains at 16 percent. The JSE Market Index rose 378.06 points to finish at 173,331.69 and the JSE combined index gained 229.67 points to end at 185,938.49 with a gain for the year to date of 18 percent.
At the close with a mere 748,476 units valued at $7,664,842 changed hands, compared to 3,262,803 units valued at $38,639,306 changing hands on Friday. The junior market accounted for 1,589,420 units trading valued at $7,836,091 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 35,184 and 84,420 units month to date. On Friday, an average of 76,063 units traded and for the month to date, 133,657 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.
The market closed with 25 securities trading as the prices of 6 gained while 10 declined in the overall market, including 1 stock rising and 6 falling, in the junior market.

JMMB Group closed trading with 4,703 shares to end with a rise of 20 cents at $14, Kingston Wharves traded 5,632 shares to close at $18.80, National Commercial Bank gained $2.50 with 12,375 shares trading, Sagicor Group had 46,371 shares changing hands and fell 39 cents to close at $24.11. Scotia Group rose 1 cent in trading 53,000 shares to close at $31.51, Seprod dropped $1.40 in trading 9,250 shares to end at $26 Supreme Ventures traded 21,000 shares at $4.95 and Proven Investments ordinary share traded 46,750 units and ended at 19.50 US cents.
National Commercial jumps $7 to $53

The JSE Market Index rose 1,460.49 points to finish at 171,029.58 and the JSE combined index gained 1,250.77 points to end at 184,140.62 with a gain for the year to date of 15.6 percent.
At the close 3,554,573 units valued at $49,191,747 changed hands, compared to 1,386,155 units valued at $4,662,262 changing hands on Monday. The junior market accounted for 1,290,866 units trading valued at $5,509,660 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 90,548 and 99,679 units month to date. On Monday, an average of 62,133 units traded and for the month to date, 108,809 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.

Kingston Wharves jumped $1.26 in trading 40,000 shares to close at $18.51, Pan Jamaican Investment fell 5 cents and closed at $23.65 after trading 108,967 shares, Radio Jamaica closed with a gain of 1 cent to close at $1.32 with 23,297 shares trading, Sagicor Group had 452,560 shares changing hands and rose 99 cents to close at $24.99. Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded with a rise of 11 cents to close at $10.23 with 29,630 units switching owners, Scotia Investments gained 10 cents in trading 37,500 shares to close at $26.65, Seprod rose 30 cents in trading 4,600 shares to end at $27.30. Supreme Ventures fell 10 cents trading 47,100 shares to close at $4.90 and JMMB Group 7.50% preference share traded 26,082 units at $1.08.
Jamaican stocks close down – Monday
Trading levels on the Jamaica Stock Exchange slipped at the close on Monday from Friday’s with the number of securities and volume trading falling, compared to Friday. At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index fell 919.74 points to close at 188,471.81, with the year to date gains at 12.6 percent. The JSE Market Index fell 822.42 points to finish at 169,569.09 and the JSE combined index dropped 623.42 points to end at 182,889.85 with a gain for the year to date of 15.6 percent.
At the close 1,386,155 units valued at only $14,662,262 changed hands, compared to 2,121,591 units valued at $35,719,971 changing hands on Friday. The junior market accounted for 143,487 units trading valued at $754,871 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 62,133 and 108,809 units month to date. On Friday, an average of 81,096 units traded and for the month to date, 155,485 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.
