Market activity ended mixed on Tuesday after 186 percent more shares with a 129 percent higher value traded than on Monday, resulting in more slightly stocks rising than falling at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, 17 traded compared to 18 on Monday, with seven stocks rising, six declining and four remaining unchanged. The Composite Index lost 0.09 points to end at 1,417.69, the All T&T Index increased 0.44 points to 1,924.90 and the Cross-Listed Index eased by 0.09 points to 122.62.
A total of 1,115,815 shares traded, for $7,311,356 compared to 390,246 units at $3,197,729 on Monday. An average of 65,636 units traded at $430,080 compared to 21,680 at $177,652 on Monday. The average trade for the month to date amounts to 40,039 units at $326,084 versus 31,158 units at $290,004. The average trade for June, ended at 45,770 units at $724,497.

Market activity ended, with the market rising on Monday, resulting in 114 percent more shares trading and carrying a 240 percent higher value than on Friday, leading to more stocks rising than falling at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

At the close, 18 securities traded compared to 15 on Friday, with five stocks rising, three declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The Composite Index popped 5.46 points to settle at 1,417.78, the All T&T Index spiked 9.78 points to 1,924.46 and the Cross-Listed Index rallied 0.12 points to 122.71.

Trading was moderate on Friday, with the market rising after trading levels plummeted with 81 percent fewer shares with 91 percent lower value than on Thursday. At the close, more stocks rose than declined on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

Rising stocks was the dominant feature of market activity on the first day of the second half of the year on Thursday, after 596 percent more shares traded, with the value ending 216 percent higher than on Wednesday and resulting in more stocks rising than falling at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, 16 stocks traded compared to 15 on Wednesday, with 10 rising, four declining and two remaining unchanged. The Composite Index rose 4.25 points to 1,406.81, but the All T&T Index dropped 14.85 points to 1,913.34, and The Cross-Listed Index popped 3.46 points to 121.19.

Trading dominated by rising stocks

Stocks mostly rose on the final day at the half-year mark on Wednesday on a day when it was very difficult to find declining stocks on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, leaving the market with a gain of six percent for the year to date.
Market activity ended, with 87 percent fewer shares carrying a 94 percent lower value than on Tuesday, as 15 traded compared to 18 on Tuesday, with prices of eight rising, one declining and six closed unchanged. The Composite Index surged 14.69 points to 1,402.56, the All T&T Index spiked 24.93 points to 1,928.19 and the Cross-Listed Index popped 0.52 points to settle at 117.73.
Overall, 137,142 shares traded for $3,189,621 versus 1,087,460 units at $49,668,632 on Tuesday. An average of 9,143 units traded at $212,641 down from 60,414 shares at $2,759,368 on Tuesday. Trading month to date averages 45,770 units at $724,497 versus 47,288 units at $745,707. The trades for May averaged 25,935 units at $406,593.

Trinidad & Tobago NGL ended at $18.50, trading 2,000 shares and West Indian Tobacco declined 15 cents to $32, with an exchange of 17,750 stock units.

Trading bounce for TTSE on Monday

Investors increased their interest in stocks on Monday, with the number of stocks trading spiking and the volume and the value of stocks traded popping 225 percent over Friday’s levels resulting in slightly more stocks rising than falling at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

At the close, 21 stocks traded up from 16 on Friday, with seven rising, six falling and eight ending unchanged. The Composite Index gained 5.09 points to close at 1,392.14, the All T&T Index increased 2.56 points to 1,910.04 and the Cross-Listed Index climbed 1.09 points to settle at 117.43.
Overall, 548,218 shares traded for $6,710,088 compared to 168,626 units at $2,065,096 on Friday.
An average of 26,106 units traded at $318,528, up from 10,539 at $129,068 on Friday. The average trade for the month to date is 46,357 units at $652,730 versus 48,115 units at $681,645. The average trade for May ended at 25,935 units at $406,593.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close, Agostini’s traded 8,800 shares at $24.50, Calypso Macro Investment Fund ended at $16 after exchanging 715 stocks, Clico Investment Fund settled at $26.99, with 15,123 stocks changing hands, Endeavour Holdings saw 329 shares trading at $7.97. First Citizens Bank rose 60 cents to $50 after 10,572 stocks crossed the exchange, FirstCaribbean International Bank declined 10 cents to $6.40 after exchanging 1,000 shares. Grace Kennedy dropped 16 cents to $5.35 in trading 12,927 stocks, Guardian Holdings shed 25 cents to end at $34.70 in switching ownership of 26,475 units, Guardian Media ended at $3.25 after exchanging 3,025 stock units. JMMB Group climbed 7 cents to $1.82 while exchanging 97,341 units, L.J Williams B share popped 4 cents to $1.34, with 16 units crossing the market, Massy Holdings dropped $1.25 to $80 after exchanging 17,061 units. MPC Carribean Clean Energy dropped 10 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ low of 90 cents with an exchange of 3,218 stocks. National Enterprises ended at $3 with an exchange of 44,764 units, National Flour Mills rallied 5 cents to $2.30, with 221,631 stock units changing hands, NCB Financial Group gained 20 cents to $8, with 58,008 units crossing the market. Prestige Holdings fell 24 cents to $6.75, after exchanging 1,067 units, Republic Financial Holdings gained 10 cents in ending at $135.10 with 6,977 shares crossing the market, Scotiabank closed at $57 with the swapping of 14,071 units. Trinidad & Tobago NGL climbed 35 cents to $18.50 with the swapping of 3,598 units and West Indian Tobacco remained at $32.15 while exchanging 1,500 shares.
