Stocks continue to rise on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, pushing the market indices higher and stretching gains enjoyed over the previous two days for a third day as rising stocks beat decliners 5 to 2, with the number of active securities climbing to 18 from 11 on Tuesday, with reduced value and volume than Tuesday’s levels.
The market closed with 18 securities trading, up from eleven on Tuesday, and ended with five stocks advancing, two declining and eleven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in an exchange of 57 percent fewer shares at 42 percent less value compared to Tuesday as 234,857 shares traded at $3,362,566 compared to 541,911 shares valued at $5,823,399 on Tuesday.
The average trade amounts to 13,048 units at $186,809 versus an average of 49,264 units at $529,400 on Tuesday. Month to date averaged 21,235 shares at $304,882 compared to 23,254 units at $333,996 on Tuesday. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 3.48 points to 1,296.05, the All T&T Index climbed 6.51 points to 1,731.60, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.06 points to close at 116.58.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Grace Kennedy gained 5 cents to close at $3.70after trading 65,996 shares, Point Lisas settled at $3.14, after gaining 2 cents transferring 3,000 units. Trinidad Cement rose 24 cents to end at $2.35, with 13,000 stock units changing hands, Trinidad and Tobago NGL finished 50 cents higher at $15, in trading 47,626 shares and West Indian Tobacco added 40 cents after exchanging 34,570 shares to close at $35.40.
Stocks declining│First Citizens Bank lost 10 cents trading 239 units at $43.90 and JMMB Group ended 2 cents lower at $1.83, with 15,400 stock units crossing the market.
Stocks trading firm│ Agostini’s closed at $24.49, in exchanging 20 units, Ansa McAL traded 17 shares at $52, Clico Investment Fund exchanged 19,284 stock units at $25.25, First Caribbean International Bank held at $7.05, with 1,510 units changing hands. Massy Holdings saw a transfer of 2,027 units at $57, One Caribbean Media traded 20,900 stock units at $4.80, NCB Financial Group closed at $8.05 in exchanging 6,150 shares. National Enterprises closed at $3, with a transfer of 61 stocks, Republic Financial Holdings ended at $133.05, with a transfer of 1,159 units, Scotiabank exchanged 3,795 shares at $55.49 and Unilever Caribbean ended at $16.70 trading 103 units.

Stocks declining│Clico Investment Fund, the sole stock to decline, shed 25 cents exchanging 2,452 units to settle at $25.25.
At the close, the ICIndicator suggests a more positive tone on Monday, with the bids of five stocks closing higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers. 
Massy Holdings declined $2 to $57 after trading 75,000 shares, Trinidad and Tobago NGL slid 55 cents to $14.50 while exchanging 13,904 stock units and West Indian Tobacco ended 28 cents lower at $33.22, with a mere 4 units changing hands.
Stocks declining│Calypso Macro Index Fund lost 5 cents exchanging 500 units to settle at $14, National Enterprises finished 20 cents lower at a 52 weeks’ low of $3, in trading 7,000 stock units and Republic Financial Holdings was down 2 cents in closing at $133.01, after transferring 265 units.
A total of 16 securities traded, up from twelve on Tuesday, and ended with four stocks advancing, two declining and ten remaining unchanged, after 444,318 shares changed hands for $6,527,739 compared to 30,910 shares at 1,931,247 on Tuesday.

Grace Kennedy held firm at $3.70, with 2,130 units crossing the exchange, Guardian Holdings exchanged 75,160 shares at $20.40, JMMB Group traded 170,511 shares at $1.80. Republic Financial Holdings ended at $133.03, with a transfer of 1,375 units, Trinidad Cement closed at $2.11, in an exchange of 85 units, Unilever Caribbean traded 300 units at $16.70 and West Indian Tobacco closed at $33.22, with 2,282 units changing hands.
Scotiabank fell $1 to 54, in exchange for 436 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL declined by $1.63 to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $14.25, in transferring 476 units.
One Caribbean Media lost 3 cents trading 2,000 units to close at $4.82, Republic Financial Holdings declined by $2.50 to settle at $136, in transferring 1,390 units. Scotiabank slipped 25 cents to $54, in exchanging 10,000 stock units, Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 50 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $14.50 trading 3,310 units and West Indian Tobacco fell 94 cents to $32.50, with 3,959 units changing hands.
First Citizens Bank fell 25 cents to $43.25, trading 2,694 stock units. JMMB Group lost 3 cents to close at $1.72, with an exchange of 340,668 shares, National Enterprises lost 1 cent to finish at $3.39 and exchanging 1,000 units and Unilever Caribbean ended at $16.79, after losing 1 cent trading 100 shares.
