The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market hit an intraday high after only a few minutes of the market’s opening with National Commercial Bank (NCB) stock changing hands at $55.
The movement in NCB’s price helped to push the all Jamaica composite Index market up by 5,266.74 points to 196,721.20 points and the JSE market Index surged 4,709.42 points to 176,945.54.
At the close the main market pulled back from the day’s high as NCB pulled back to close at $49.50 with 70,115 shares and ending the day with a gain of 50 cents. At the close of trading the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 802.42 points to close at a new closing high of 192,256.88, with the year to date gains at 16 percent. The JSE Market Index rose 717.51 points to finish at 172,953.63 and the JSE combined index gained 586.89 points to end at 185,708.82 with a gain for the year to date of 18 percent.
At the close 3,262,803 units valued at $38,639,306 changed hands, compared to 5,034,107 units valued at $245,730,492 changing hands on Thursday. The junior market accounted for 1,589,420 units trading valued at $7,836,091 of the stocks traded.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market pulled back slightly from the record close on Wednesday at $9 even as National Commercial Bank traded at a new intraday high of $58, with 4.8 million units trading.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index lost 333.38 points to close at 191,454.46, with the year to date gains at 14 percent. The JSE Market Index fell 298.11 points to finish at 172,236.12 and the JSE combined index eased by 15.03 points to end at 185,121.93 with a gain for the year to date of 17 percent.
At the close 5,034,107 units valued at $245,730,492 changed hands, compared to 35,034,107 units valued at $28,268,540 changing hands on Wednesday. The junior market accounted for 599,996 units trading valued at $2,314,012 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 282,822 and 191,250 units month to date. On Wednesday, an average of 125,962 units traded and for the month to date, 117,386 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market surged on Wednesday as movement in National Commercial Bank shares between Tuesday and today help drive the All Jamaican index by 1,682 points to a new all-time closing high. Trading volume rose above Tuesday’s levels but with a lower dollar value.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 1,682.71 points to close at 191,787.84, with the year to date gains at 13 percent. The JSE Market Index rose 1,504.65 points to finish at 172,534.23 and the JSE combined index gained 996.34 points to end at 185,136.96 with a gain for the year to date of 17 percent.
At the close 5,034,107 units valued at $28,268,540 changed hands, compared to 3,554,573 units valued at $49,191,747 changing hands on Tuesday. The junior market accounted for 1,885,054 units trading valued at $7,271,634 of the stocks traded.

National Commercial Bank jumped 15 percent with a rise of $7 to a 52 weeks’ high of $53 while trading 64,595 shares. Trading levels on the Jamaica Stock Exchange climbed on Tuesday from Monday’s levels and the main market climbed as the number of securities rising exceeded those falling almost 2 to 1 with 4 stocks hitting 52 weeks’ high.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 1,633.32 points to close at 190,105.13, with the year to date gains at 13 percent. The JSE Market Index rose 1,460.49 points to finish at 171,029.58 and the JSE combined index gained 1,250.77 points to end at 184,140.62 with a gain for the year to date of 15.6 percent.

At the close 1,386,155 units valued at only $14,662,262 changed hands, compared to 2,121,591 units valued at $35,719,971 changing hands on Friday. The junior market accounted for 143,487 units trading valued at $754,871 of the stocks traded.

Trading levels on the Jamaica Stock Exchange shrank sharply by the close on Friday from Thursday’s levels even as the number of securities trading remained at the same number. At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 238.43 points to close at 189,392, with the year to date gains at 13 percent.
The JSE Market Index rose 213.19 points to finish at 170,392 and the JSE combined index gained 481.02 points to end at 183,513 with a gain for the year to date of 15.6 percent.
At the close 2,121,591 units valued at $35,719,971 changed hands, compared to 18,462,121 units valued at $230,990,500 changing hands on Thursday. The junior market accounted for 256,384 units trading valued at $1,074,606 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 81,096 and 155,485 units month to date. On Thursday, an average of 277,373 units traded and fro the month to date, 229,873 units, in comparison the average for the October was 220,811 units.

At the close 7,411,988 units valued at $113,469,413 changed hands, compared to 2,406,886 units valued at $45,582,046 changing hands on Monday. The junior market accounted for 1,268,960 units trading valued at $6,437,908 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 255,960 and 178,031 month to date units. On Monday, an average of 71,224 units traded with the average for the month to date being 100,103 units. The average for the October was 220,811 units.

JSE majors drop juniors rise

Prices mostly fell in early trading on Monday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange but with lower volume than on Friday.
ICI int -7-11-16Jamaica Stock Exchange stock was adjusted the 5 for 1 stock split on Friday but the stock has not traded so far, but the bid is at $8.10 to buy 4,790 shares. Paramount Trading that has announced a 10 to 1 stock split has a bid at $30.60 to buy 1,035 units without an offer versus the last traded price of $29.
Major traded so far include, Jamaica Producers with 81,887 units at $8.25, National Commercial Bank 232,872 units at $45, Jetcon Corporation with 126,700 units at $5 and Lasco Distributors with 91,345 units at $7.
The all Jamaica Composite Index dropped 1,002.17 points to 188,306.17, the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index declined points to 169,420.99, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index lost 652.67 points to close at 182,489.04 and the junior market index rose 17.36 points to 2,469.57.
At 10:45 am, a total of 29 securities traded, resulting in a volume of 640,254 shares changing hands carrying a value of $13,990,935, compared to 1,938,366 shares changing hands carrying a value of $18,934,325, on Friday.
The average number of shares traded amounts to 22,078 units compared to 71,791 on Friday. Market activity resulted in 11 stocks falling while the prices of 6 securities rose.

At the close 3,671,278 units valued at $37,632,036 changed hands, compared to 3,333,891 units valued at $23,300,182 changing hands on Thursday. The junior market accounted for 1,625,906 units trading valued at $9,305,449 of the stocks traded.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock exchange retreated sharply on Thursday with the All Jamaica Composite Index dropping 2,885.94 points to close at 185,589.12, bringing the year to date gains to 10.9 percent. The JSE Market Index dived 2,580.55 points to finish at 166,991.45 and the JSE combined index collapsed 2,311.22 points to end at 180,210.50 and gained at 13.9 percent for the year to date.
At the close 3,333,891 units valued at $23,300,182 changed hands, compared to 8,751,466 units valued at $70,052,498 changing hands on Wednesday. The junior market accounted for 2,322,147 units trading valued at $11,077,945 of the stocks traded.
