The Jamaica Stock Exchange US dollar market closed trading on Friday with the market slipping after the price of just one stock closed with a change and 888 percent more shares traded than on Thursday.
At the close of the market, trading ended with six securities changing hands, the same as on Thursday and ended with the price of one rising and the five remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index fell by 1.83 points to settle at 187.92. The average PE Ratio ended at 13.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 427,882 shares, for US$13,880 compared to 43,326 units at US$14,347 on Thursday. The daily trade averaged 71,314 units at US$2,313, in contrast to an average of 7,221 shares at US$2,391 on Thursday. Trading ended with an average of 49,490 units for the month to date at US$4,641, in contrast to 47,912 units at US$4,809. October averaged 697,808 units for US$17,320.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows one stock ending with the bid higher than the last selling price and none with lower offers.
At the close of the market, First Rock Capital Investment closed at 8.65 US cents trading 234 units, Margaritaville remained at 13 US cents, in crossing the exchange with 100 units, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy ended at US$1.15 after trading 30 units. Proven Investments closed at 25 US cents, after exchanging 19,400 stock units, Sygnus Credit Investments rose 0.49 of a cent to 15.99 US cents, with an exchange of 36,236 shares and Transjamaican Highway settled at 0.90 of 1 US cent, in a transfer of 371,882 shares.
