Gains continue for TTSE stocks

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange continues to move higher in the two trading days in 2020 after closing 2019 with the first year of gains after five years of losses. Indicators are pointing to another year of growth for the market.
Trading ended, with three stocks rising, three declining while ten closed with prices unchanged, leading the Composite Index gaining 1.36 points to close at 1,472.05. The All T&T Index rose 2.71 points to 1,871.82, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 145.26 points.
Trading ended with just 16 securities changing hands as 368,007 shares traded at $5,109,209 compared to 187,409 units for $2,716,885 from 13 securities changing hands on Thursday. The market closed with three stocks hitting 52 weeks’ highs.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Gains| First Citizens Bank gained 50 cents trading 1,948 shares at a 52 weeks’ high of $45, Massy Holdings rose 51 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $61.51, with 63,103 units changing hands and MPC Caribbean Energy rose by 8 cents and completed trading at a record high of $1.08, after exchanging 1,000 shares.
Losses| Clico Investment Fund closed with a loss of 25 cents and settled at $28.25, with 6,605 stock units changing hands, Trinidad & Tobago NGL lost 25 cents to close trading 2,096 shares at $243.75 and L.J Williams shed 14 cents to end at $1.55, with investors exchanging 50,000 stock units.
Firm Trades| Angostura Holdings concluded trading with 4,555 units at $16.20, First Caribbean International Bank ended at $8, with 12,700 stock units trading. Guardian Holdings closed at $22, with 415 stock units changing hands, National Enterprises 12,603 units at $5.76, National Flour ended at $1.35, in swapping of 200,417 shares. NCB Financial completed trading of 949 stock units at $10.86, investors exchanging 3,800 shares of Point Lisas at $3.55, Scotiabank closed activities at $61, with 3,500 units crossing the exchange. West Indian Tobacco settled at $41.24, with 1,153 stock units changing hands and Trinidad Cement ended at $2, with investors exchanging 3,163 shares.

TTSE stocks start 2020 with some gains

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange started trading in 2020 with modest gains in all three major indices but with just two stocks rising while three slipped and eight closed with prices unchanged.  
At the close of trading on Tuesday, the Composite Index rose 2.28 points on Thursday to 1,470.69. The All T&T Index added 0.14 points to 1,869.11, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.61 points to close at 145.26.
Trading ended with just 13 securities changing hands, similar to the number trading on Tuesday as 187,409 shares traded at $2,716,885 compared to 229,238 shares changing hands at $3,637,335. The market had two stocks hitting 52 weeks’ high at the close of trading.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Gains| First Caribbean International Bank gained 10 cents completed trading at $8, with ten stock units changing hands and Guardian Holdings advanced 35 cents and ended at $22, with investors exchanging 72,946 shares.
Losses| Point Lisas declined 5 cents and completed trading of 500 stock units at $3.55, Republic Financial fell 9 cents to close at $131.01, with investors exchanging 640 shares and West Indian Tobacco lost just 1 cent to finish at $41.24, with ten units changing hands.
Firm Trades| First Citizens Bank settled at $44.50, with 5,136 stock units trading, Grace Kennedy closed at $3.95, with 6,484 stock units trading, JMMB Group concluded trading with 27,149 stock units at $2.60, National Enterprises exchanged 35,000 shares and ended at $5.76. NCB Financial closed at $10.86, with 4,686 units crossing the exchange, One Caribbean Media exchanged 28,904 units at $8.50, Scotiabank traded 1,640 stock units at $61 and Trinidad & Tobago NGL close trading of 4,304 shares at $24.

TTSE stocks gain 9.6% for 2019

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed 2019 with gains for the three leading indices with the All T&T Index gaining nearly 10 percent for the year and reversing five consecutive years’ of decline.
At the close of trading on Tuesday, the Composite Index lost 10.11 points to end at 1,468.41, on the last day of the year but gained 12.73 percent for 2019. The All T&T Index rose 3.67 points, but ended the year up 9.61 percent for the year at 1,868.97, while the Cross Listed Index declined 3.28 points to close at 144.65 and end out the year with a rise of 19 percent. The Small and Medium Enterprise index dropped over 32 percent for the year at 67.76 points.
Trading ended with just 13 securities changing hands, similar to the number trading on Monday, with seven rising, four declining and two closed with prices unchanged, as 229,238 shares traded at a value of $3,637,335 compared to 169,650 shares trading at $2,829,522 on Tuesday. The market had two stocks hitting 52 weeks’ high at the close of trading.

Gains| Agostini’s concluded trading of 500 units with a gain of $1 to close at 52 weeks’ high of $25, Guardian Holdings closed with a gain of 15 cents at $21.65, with 5,331 stock units changing hands, National Flour gained 4 cents to end at $1.35, with 27,346 stock units trading. Trinidad & Tobago NGL gained 75 cents in trading 18,298 shares at $24 and West Indian Tobacco added 25 cents and concluded at $41.25, with investors exchanging 1,633 shares.
Losses| First Caribbean International Bank lost 10 cents to end at 52 weeks’ low of $7.90, with 210 stock units changing hands, Grace Kennedy closed with a loss of 5 cents at $3.95, after swapping of 1,000 shares and NCB Financial lost 43 cents to end at $10.86, with 100,000 stock units trading.
Firm Trades| Clico Investment Fund closed at $28.50, exchanging 45,937 units, First Citizens settled at $44.50, with 550 units crossing the exchange, National Enterprises ended at $5.76, trading 25,300 units, Republic Financial closed at $131.10, with 2,898 stock units changing hands and Scotiabank settled at $61, after trading with 250 units.

The All Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange index closed up on Friday, as rising stocks outnumbered declining ones after the market resumed trading after the Christmas holidays break.
Trading ended with just 10 securities changing hands, against 12 on Tuesday, with three rising advancing, one declining while the prices of six closed unchanged, as 80,428 shares traded at $1,196,495, compared to 125,924 shares traded for $913,114 on Tuesday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index added 1.15 points to close at 1,481.51. The All T&T Index rose 3.48 points to end at 1,864.08, while the Cross Listed Index declined 0.16 points to close at 148.92.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than their last selling prices and just two with lower offers.
Gains| Ansa Merchant Bank gained 40 cents and closed at $35.90, with 16,776 units crossing the exchange, Massy Holdings rose $1 and ended at a 52 weeks’ high of $61, with 200 units changing hands and Prestige Holdings gained 75 cents and completed trading of 54 stock units at $9.25.
Losses| West Indian Tobacco fell 41 cents to settle at $41.60, with investors exchanging 39 shares.
Firm Trades| Ansa McAl ended at $55, with 544 stock units trading, First Citizens Bank closed at $44.75, after exchanging 1,360 shares, Guardian Holdings concluded trading of 1,109 shares at $21.50. JMMB Group closed at $2.75 with 45,527 stock units crossing the exchange, Scotiabank completed trading at $61, after exchanging just 8 shares and Trinidad & Tobago NGL had 14,811 shares changing hands at $23.

TTSE indices close mixed

The All Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange index closed down on Tuesday, but the Composite Index climbed to a new yearly high, ahead of the close of the market for the Christmas holidays.
Trading ended with 12 securities changing hands, against 17 on Monday, with just three rising advancing, three declining while six closed with unchanged prices, as 125,924 shares traded at $913,114, compared to 363,353 shares changing hands for $8,102,591 on Monday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index added 9.87 points on to 1,480.36. The All T&T Index declined 3.64 points to 1,860.60 while the Cross Listed Index rose 3.21 points to close at 149.08.

All TTSE index jumps sharply on Monday

Massy traded at a 52 weeks’ high on Monday.

The All Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange index closed sharply higher on Monday, with sizable price changes for some stocks, including one trading at 52 weeks’ high.
Trading ended with 17 securities changing hands, against 16 on Friday, with just seven advancing, three declining while seven remained unchanged as 363,353 shares traded at $8,102,591, compared to 306,927 shares for $2,734,005 on Friday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index added 2.01 points to end at 1,470.49. The All T&T Index jumped 28.04 points to 1,864.24, while the Cross Listed Index shed 3.32 points to close at 145.87.

Republic Bank traded at 52 weeks high on Friday.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange indices closed lower on Friday, with an equal number of stocks rising as falling including two stocks trading at 52 weeks’ high and one at a 52 weeks’ low.
Trading ended with 16 securities changing hands, against 17 on Thursday, with just four advancing, four declining while eight remained unchanged as 306,927 shares traded for $2,734,005, compared to 334,319 shares for $2,569,200 on Thursday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index lost 3.47 points to close at 1,468.48. The All T&T Index fell by 2.26 points to 1,836.20, while the Cross Listed Index slipped 0.64 points to 149.19.

Trading ended with 17 securities changing hands, against 18 on Wednesday, with just four advancing, five declining while eight remained unchanged as 334,319 shares traded for $2,569,200, compared to 917,251 units for $8,126,649 on Wednesday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index gained 1.09 points to close at 1,471.95. The All T&T Index gained 0.15 points to end at 1,838.46, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.28 points to 149.83.

TTSE stocks continue the climb

The upward rise of Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange continued apace on Tuesday with the three primary market indices rising with advancing stocks bettering decliners 5 to 2.
Trading ended with 14 securities changing hands, against 18 on Monday, with 5 advancing, 2 declining while 7 remained unchanged as investors exchanged 424,712 units for $5,733,529, compared to 162,777 units for $6,159,062 on Monday.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index gained 7.63 points to 1,482.33. The All T&T Index rose 4.12 points to 1,851.56, while the Cross Listed Index added 1.52 points to close at 150.87.
