Gains continue for TTSE stocks

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange continues to move higher in the two trading days in 2020 after closing 2019 with the first year of gains after five years of losses. Indicators are pointing to another year of growth for the market.
Trading ended, with three stocks rising, three declining while ten closed with prices unchanged, leading the Composite Index gaining 1.36 points to close at 1,472.05. The All T&T Index rose 2.71 points to 1,871.82, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 145.26 points.
Trading ended with just 16 securities changing hands as 368,007 shares traded at $5,109,209 compared to 187,409 units for $2,716,885 from 13 securities changing hands on Thursday. The market closed with three stocks hitting 52 weeks’ highs.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Gains| First Citizens Bank gained 50 cents trading 1,948 shares at a 52 weeks’ high of $45, Massy Holdings rose 51 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $61.51, with 63,103 units changing hands and MPC Caribbean Energy rose by 8 cents and completed trading at a record high of $1.08, after exchanging 1,000 shares.
Losses| Clico Investment Fund closed with a loss of 25 cents and settled at $28.25, with 6,605 stock units changing hands, Trinidad & Tobago NGL lost 25 cents to close trading 2,096 shares at $243.75 and L.J Williams shed 14 cents to end at $1.55, with investors exchanging 50,000 stock units.
Firm Trades| Angostura Holdings concluded trading with 4,555 units at $16.20, First Caribbean International Bank ended at $8, with 12,700 stock units trading. Guardian Holdings closed at $22, with 415 stock units changing hands, National Enterprises 12,603 units at $5.76, National Flour ended at $1.35, in swapping of 200,417 shares. NCB Financial completed trading of 949 stock units at $10.86, investors exchanging 3,800 shares of Point Lisas at $3.55, Scotiabank closed activities at $61, with 3,500 units crossing the exchange. West Indian Tobacco settled at $41.24, with 1,153 stock units changing hands and Trinidad Cement ended at $2, with investors exchanging 3,163 shares.
