FirstCaribbean traded at a new 52 weeks’ high on Friday.

Trading activity on the Trinidad and Tobago stock market ended on Friday with more securities trading at a much higher value than on Thursday. Trading ended with 738,889 shares valued at $13,252,432 changing hands, compared to 1,086,613 shares valued at $3,846,767 on Thursday.
The market closed with modest movements in the indices and ended with 5 stocks gaining, 3 declining and 6 remaining unchanged as 14 securities traded.
The Composite Index rose 6.44 points to close at 1,171.59, the All T&T Index gained 1.68 points to close at 1,819.56 and the Cross Listed Index grew by 1.53 points to 69.82 points.

Calypso Macro Index Fund dropped 1 cent while trading 20,000 units valued at $439,725 to end at 52 weeks’ low of $21.99 and Guardian Holdings traded 13,540 shares with the price closing at $12.60 after falling 2 cents.

5 TTSE stocks rise 2 fell – Tuesday

JMMB Group traded at a new high of TT$0.70 on the TTSE on Tuesday.

Trading activity picked up on Tuesday, from the low levels on Monday on the Trinidad and Tobago stock market as foreign stocks dominated trading. Trading led to 334,142 shares valued at $8,500,851 changing hands, compared to only 45,867 shares valued at $599,742 on Monday.
The market closed with modest movements in the indices and ended with 5 stocks gaining, 2 declining and 6 remaining unchanged as 13 securities traded.
The Composite Index climbed 7.73 points to close at 1,163.74, the All T&T Index rose 1.19 points to close at 1,816.04 and the Cross Listed Index gained 1.95 to 68.15 points as JMMB Group and Firstcaribbean International Bank recorded gains.

TTSE Unilever drops $4.50 – Wednesday

Unilever products fighting in a weakened T&T economy leading to a big drop in the stock price.

Trading activity on the Trinidad and Tobago stock market closed Wednesday with losses in the two main market indices. Volume traded remained subdued with just over 90,000 units changing hands. At the close just 8 securities changed hands, just 1 rose, 3 fell including Unilever that dropped sharply to a new 52 weeks’ low while 4 remained unchanged.
Market activity ended with 89,258 shares valued at $1,450,746 changing hands, down from the $2,665,520 traded on Tuesday.
The Composite Index declined 1.03 points to close at 1,156.61, the All T&T Index fell 2.04 points to close at 1,817.25 and the Cross Listed Index ended unchanged at 66.04.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with 8 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 5 with offers that were lower.
Gains| Trinidad Cement closed at $3.10 with 15,500 shares changing hands to gain 5 cents.
Losses| Clico Investment Fund closed with 14,420 shares valued at $326,637 changing hands, to end 1 cent down at $22.65, Massy Holding lost 1 cent in trading 5,718 shares valued at $314,433 to close at $54.99 and Unilever Caribbean traded 2,643 units to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $58 after nosediving $4.50. Unilever’s stock has been under pressure from early 2015 after it suffered from problems in a new software package followed by a weakening domestic market that saw revenues coming under pressure. The latest results to June, shows slightly reduced revenues in the June quarter, compared to 2015, with 13.6 percent more after tax profit, after gross profit increased by percent. TTSE sum 7-9-16

At the present price and likelihood of earnings per share hitting $2 this year, the stock is priced close to 30 times this year’s earnings, well ahead of others in that market and could undergo more decline in the price as the market adjusts it to be more in line with its peers.
Firm Trades| First Citizens traded 13,058 units with a value of $457,030 at $35, Grace Kennedy ended with 36,950 shares changing hands at $2.56, Scotiabank closed with 955 shares changing hands to end at $57.53 and West Indian Tobacco with 14 shares changing hands closed at $126.32.

The volume traded remained subdued with just over 200,000 units changing hands. At the close 12 securities changed hands, 5 of which rose, 7 remained unchanged with no losing stocks at the end of the day.
Market activity ended with 208,021 shares valued at $2,665,520 changing hands, down from the $3,417,455 traded on Monday.
The Composite Index gained 1.10 points to close at 1,157.64, the All T&T Index rose 0.51 points to close at 1,819.29 and the Cross Listed Index ended 0.23 point higher at 66.04.

NCB at 26% premium on TTSE – Wednesday

NCB closed at a new 52 weeks’ high on the TTSE on Wednesday

National Commercial Bank (NCB) traded at a new high on the Trinidad and Tobago stock market closed on Wednesday, with a premium of 26 percent over the price it last traded at in Jamaica at $42.75. NCB ended with 63,000 shares changing hands, with the price rising 10 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.85 or J$54.
A total of 12 securities traded, resulting in 287,792 shares valued at $5,727,189 changing hands. The market closed with 1 stocks rising, 2 declining stocks and 9 remaining unchanged. At the end of trading one stock closed at 52 weeks’ high and one at a 52 weeks’ low.

TTSE build The Trinidad and Tobago stock market closed on Monday with moderate trading, on a day when Trinidad Cement shed 10.7 percent of its value in reaction to lower profits in the June quarter as a result of falling revenues and non-recurring cost, while T&T NGL continued rising, sitting only 25 cents from the historical high. At the close the market indices inched higher as 10 securities traded resulting in 102,121 shares valued at $713,793 changing hands.
On a day when there were 5 declining stocks, 3 stocks gained and only 2 remained unchanged.
