Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange closed on Friday with First Citizens having the largest value of shares trading as the market closed with 13 securities changing hands, up from 10 on Thursday, 2 of which advanced, 2 declined and 9 traded unchanged on a day when 1 stock ended at 52-week’s high.
Trading activity closed with 510,441 shares changing hands with a value of $$8,337,500, in contrast to Thursday’s volume of 168,658 units valued at $4,011,086.
The Composite Index advanced 1.01 points to 1,182.43 points, the All T & T Index gained 2.12 points to close at 1,804.61 points to be down 7.38 percent year to date and the Cross Listed Index dipped 0.01 points to close at 74.84 points and is up 51.16 percent for 2016.

JMMB 20% higher in Trinidad

JMMB is one of four Jamaican stocks selling at a big premium on the TTSE.

At the end of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Thursday, the four Jamaican stocks listed on the exchange were priced much higher than they are in Kingston, providing investors with good arbitrage opportunities.
The premium placed on the Jamaican stocks, ranged between 11 per cent for Scotia Investments to a high of 20 percent for JMMB Group.
Trading activity resulted in 15 securities changing hands, up from the 14 traded on Wednesday with 4 securities advancing, 3 falling, while 8 traded firm while 2 stocks closing at 52 week’s highs and 1 at a low.
The market ended with 219,147 shares changing hands with a value of $2,777,660 in contrast to Wednesday’s volume of 171,910 shares with value of $2,294,211.
The market closed with the Composite Index rising 1.87 points to close at 1,178.77. The All T & T Index gained 1.31 points to close at 1,809.30 points, down 7.14 percent for the year to date, while the Cross Listed Index advanced 0.33 points to close at 73.19 points and is up 47.83 percent for the year to date.

Witco had the largest dollar trade on the TTSE on Tuesday.

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange ended on Tuesday with West Indian Tobacco having the largest dollar trade at $3.7 million. Elsewhere, trading ended with 14 securities changing hands, up from 7 on Monday.

JMMB Group closed at a 52 weeks’ high of 76 TT cents on Friday.

Trinidad and Tobago stock market ended Friday with just 7 securities trading, down from 13 on Thursday with 1 stock gaining, 3 declining and 9 remaining unchanged. Volume and value fell sharply as well with the highest volume being JMMB Group with 150,000 units.
