Prices for the majority of stocks trading remained unchanged at the close on Monday on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange as the market exchanged 17 percent more shares than on Friday after the value of stocks changing hands dropped 80 percent.
The market closed with 11 securities trading, down from fourteen on Friday, and ended with two stocks advancing, one declining and eight remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 296,689 shares for $1,223.272 compared to 254,549 shares valued $6,034,898 on Friday.
The average trade amounts to 26,972 units at $111,207 versus an average of 18,182 units at $431,064 on Friday. Month to date averaged 18,639 shares at $299,328 compared to 16,842 units at $339,903 on Friday. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.18 points to 1,289.41, the All T&T Index rose 2.88 points to 1,718.23, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.35 points to close at 116.36.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of six stocks higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
Stocks rising│ Guardian Holdings rose 10 cents to $20.50, with an exchange of 3,909 shares and NCB Financial Group gained 5 cents trading 28,000 units to finish at $8.05.
Stocks declining│Grace Kennedy, the sole stock to decline, with a loss of 4 cents to end at $3.65 with 6,523 stock units crossing the market.
Stocks trading firm│ Agostini’s traded 1,900 units at $24.49, Calypso Macro Index Fund closed at $14, with 40 units changing hands, First Caribbean International Bank transferred 600 units at $7.05. JMMB Group held firm at $1.80, with 230,609 shares crossing the exchange, National Flour remained at $2, in trading 5,000 stock units, One Caribbean Media was unchanged at $4.80, after transferring 250 units. Scotiabank held firm at $55.49, with an exchange of 3,111 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL traded 16,747 shares at $14.50.
