Trading remained light on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with a 43 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded accompanied by a 57 percent lower value than on Wednesday and resulting in just 10 securities trading, down from 19 on Wednesday and ending with three stocks rising, two declining and five remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged 246,775 shares for $1,839,912 compared to 431,015 stock units at $4,256,102 on Wednesday.
An average of 24,678 shares were traded at $183,991 compared to 22,685 units at $224,005 on Wednesday, with trading month to date averaging 16,903 units at $184,750 compared with 16,614 units at $184,775 on the previous day. The average trade for August amounts to 14,526 shares at $195,195.
The Composite Index advanced 3.88 points to close at 1,212.02, the All T&T Index climbed 6.72 points to finish at 1,853.46, the SME Index remained unchanged at 70.47 and the Cross-Listed Index rose 0.12 points to 73.58.

Republic sinks Trinidad exchange

Republic Financial dropped $5, to close at a new 52 weeks’ low in trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, and was the major factor pulling the overall market down following a 1,001 percent surge in the volume of stocks traded, with the value jumping 205 percent over Monday and resulting in 17 securities trading down from 21 on Monday, with prices of five rising, seven declining and five remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged 914,841 shares for $4,448,880 up from 83,098 stock units at $1,457,421 on Monday.
An average of 53,814 shares were traded at $261,699 compared to a mere 3,957 units at $69,401 on Monday, with trading month to date averaging 16,153 shares at $181,798 compared with 13,405 units at $175,958 on the previous day. The average trade for August was 4,526 shares at $195,195.

Trading plunged on Friday with a 78 percent drop in the volume of stocks traded, valued 80 percent less than Thursday’s trade on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, with an exchange of just 65,236 shares for $876,597, down from 301,395 stock units at $4,488,620, from trading in 19 securities as was the case on Thursday.

One great Studio IPO allocations

Allocation of ordinary shares in the public offer of 338,627,439 shares in One Great Studio Company Limited that was oversubscribed, has been determined.
According to Barita Investments, brokers for the issue, all applicants in the One Great Studio Team Members and Key Strategic Partners will get full the amounts applied for and General Public the first 20,000 shares applied for and approximately 34.09 percent of the balance.
Applications that were only accepted in part will be refunded the balance of their subscription monies as per the Prospectus, the release stated. The release states that they will now proceed to apply for a listing of its Ordinary Shares on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, that will bring the total listings on the market to 49.
The level of oversubscription was not stated, but the level of allocation suggests that it was not one of the hot issues as a result, there is unlikely to be any sort term bounce of note, in the early days after the shares are listed.
