The Jamaica Stock Exchange saw low trading activity on Tuesday and at the close, there were 10 stocks rising, 11 declining with 30 securities totalling 986,801 units, valued at $11,478,835 changing hands, in all market segments. Trading in the main market was very light with only 745,029 shares trading.
The main market indices enjoyed a second day of increases with the JSE Market Index added 77.06 points to 96,433.55, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index gained 86.11 points to 106,726.20 and the JSE combined index rose 180.75 to end at 99,807.18 points.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator had a reading of 9 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 3 with offers that were lower.
In trading, Cable and Wireless rose 2 cents with 85,687 shares changing hands, to close at 51 cents, Caribbean Cement had 150,477 shares trading with a 29 cents rise, to $8, Carreras lost 20 cents in trading 9,195 shares and ended at $48.90, Desnoes & Geddes traded 28,656 shares to end at $6.60 for a fall of 40 cents. Grace Kennedy had 50,670 shares changing hands at $64, Jamaica Broilers traded at $6 with 55,760 shares changing ownership and gained 30 cents, Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 56,000 shares at $7.50, JMMB Group traded 51,620 units to end at $7.65, National Commercial Bank had 28,578 units changing hands and ended at $27.52 after losing 23 cents. Pan Jamaican traded 11,090 shares to close at $61.71. Radio Jamaica traded at $3.08 with 13,820 shares changing hands. Sagicor X Fund with 12,000 shares closed with a gain of 39 cents to end at $7.40, Scotia Group lost 95 cents in ending at $24 while 25,457 shares traded and Scotia Investments gained 1 cent to land at $25.01 with 55,000 units.

Juniors up majors down Thursday trading
Activity fell on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday morning, resulted in 19 securities trading changing hands at 11amwith a big increase in volume of 17,,066,415 units, with 3 stocks declining and 9 rising.
Trading activity resulted in declines to the indices with the JSE Market Index falling 206.11 points to 95,531.91. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index down 230.35 points to 105,718.57 and the JSE combined index slipped 108.03 points to be at 98,770.37 and the junior market is up 9.69 points to 960.17.
The main trades are Cable & Wireless with 10,774,000 units at 49 cents, Ciboney Group with 4,365,250 shares at 9 cents, National Commercial Bank traded 80,100 at $27.56, Scotia Group with 52,000 shares at $23.77, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share 313,046 units at $2 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share 1,341,065 units at $2.50.

Trading activities on the Jamaica Stock Exchange continues to be slow in the early morning session. The market has so far have trading in 13 securities with a volume of 1,193,370 units, with 4 stocks declining and 3 rising.

Trading activities on the Jamaica Stock Exchange has been slow in the early morning session with few trades of significant volumes. The market has so far have trading in 21 securities with a volume of 4,065,693 units, with 6 stocks declining and 5 rising.
Trading activity resulted the JSE Market Index rising 102.04 points to 98,900.09. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index gained 114.03 points to 109,482.70 and the JSE combined index rose 55.04 points to be at 102,166.69. The junior market slipped 4.63 points to 984.39
The main trades so far are Cable & Wireless with 1,700,000 units at 48 cents, Seprod traded 1,813,740 at $14 while losing 60 cents, Proven Investments 86,890 units trading was at 19.9 US cents. Trading breaks down at JSE Thursday
Trading activities on the Jamaica Stock Exchange was suspended resulting from technical issues the exchange advised IC Insider. According to the information the system went down at around 12:15 PM the last traded took place at mid-day. No trading is currently taking place but there is expectation that it should resume, once the problems are resolved. In the past resumption of trading usually goes on for a period equal to the suspension.
The market has so far have trading in 20 securities with a volume of 3,152,924 units, with 2 stocks declining and 1rising. Trading activity resulted the JSE Market Index falling 91.60 points to 98,704.31. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index fell 102.38 points to 109,263.89 and the JSE combined index slipped 21.98 points to be at 102,037.60. The junior market rose 7.11 points to 990.60.
The main trades so far are Cable & Wireless with 1,012,688 units at 48 cents, Carreras traded 379,430 at $50.25, National Commercial Bank had 136,629 units trading at $30, Proven Investments 1,208,025 units trading was at 19.5 US cents and Scotia Group have 134,944 shares trading at $24.12.
JSE drops 2,100 points – Tuesday morning
National Commercial Bank dropped back $2.49 with only 5,000 to $27.51 a ripped out a large portion of the main market indices on a morning of very slow trading. The only other trades of note on the main market are 259,275 units of Cable & Wireless at 52 cents each and Proven Investments 8% preference share trading at $4.0 with 368,901 shares.
The market has so far have trading in 14 securities with a volume of 747,689 units, with 2 stocks declining and 3 rising. Trading activity resulted the JSE Market Index falling 1,896.27 points to 98,236.27. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index dropped 2,119.51 points to 108,740.75 and the JSE combined index lost 1,774.90 points to be at 101,426.89. The junior market rose 1.45 points to 971.89.
JSE’s sizeable gains on Friday
Scotia Investments fell to $24.10 down $2.90 within 6 minutes of the market opening, with 6,485 units trading in response to the nine months results of the company released after trading closed on Thursday, National Commercial Bank traded at $29.50 which helped in pushing the main market indices upwards and Cable & Wireless traded 513,840 shares at 52 cents.

Trading activity resulted the JSE Market Index rising 478.29 points to 98,133.98. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index gained 534.59 points to 108,626.42 and the JSE combined index added 447.42 points to be at 101,308.70. The junior market fell 0.39 points to 969.49.
JSE gains on Thursday morning

Main market up juniors down Tuesday
After trading for 90 minutes of the market’s opening on Tuesday, 23 securities traded with a volume of 1,089,675 units. There were 7 stocks declining and 8 rising in the morning session.
Trading activity resulted in mixed fortunes for the indices with the main market gaining and the junior market falling.
The JSE Market Index rose 157.23 points to 97,440.98.04. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index gained 175.74 points to close at 107,851.84 and the JSE combined index gained 88.49 points to end at 100,506.69. The junior market fell just 6.60 point to close at 953.08.
The notable trades are Cable & Wireless with 786,080 shares at 46 cents, Carreras trading at $50.30 with a gain of $1.30 but with only 100 shares, Jamaica Broilers with 1,000 units at $6.99 after jumping 59 cents, Mayberry Investments rising 50 cents to $3.40 with 83,868 units. From the junior market, Access made fell $4.50 to $12 with a gain with 11,886 units trading, Caribbean Cream rose 40 cents to $2 but trading the stock was halted for an hour as the price exceeded 15 percent on an initial trade.
