Strong November close for TTSE

Investors pushed the prices of the majority of stocks higher on the final day of the month and driving the Market indices upward on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange after an exchange of 267 percent more shares and a 575 percent increase in the value of stocks trading compared to Friday.

The market closed with 19 securities trading, up from fifteen on Friday, and ended with ten stocks advancing, two declining and seven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 707,901 shares for $19,305,014 compared to 192,797 shares valued 2,859,811 on Friday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 37,229 units at $1,016,053 versus an average of 12,853 units at $190,654 for each security on Friday. Month to date averaged 12,529 shares at $181,770 compared to 10,981 units at $129,455 on Friday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 7.43 points to 1,294.15, the All T&T Index climbed 10.94 points to 1,725.33, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.53 points to close at 116.89.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Ansa McAL ended 50 cents higher at $52, in trading 227,540 shares, Clico Investments rose to $25.34, with gains of 34 cents exchanging 72,057 shares, First Citizens Bank added 50 cents to close at $44, in transferring 25,190 stock units. Massy Holdings climbed $2 to $59, with 1,725 units changing hands, NCB Financial Group gained 10 cents to finish at $8.10, after 42 units crossed the market, National Flour picked up 14 cents to settle at $2, with an exchange of 64,372 shares. Point Lisas ended at $3.12, after gaining 12 cents and trading 2,000 units, Scotiabank rose $1 to $55, after transferring 20,327 stock units, Trinidad and Tobago NGL advanced by $1.38 to $15.88, with 77,461 shares changing hands and West Indian Tobacco closed 72 cents higher at $33.22, in trading 42,543 shares.

Volume dips on the TTSE on Thursday

The majority of stocks trading remained unchanged on Thursday close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, but stocks gaining outpaced those declining after a 49 percent fall in the volume of shares traded with 78 percent lower value than Wednesday.

The average trade amounted to 4,733 units at $49,308 versus an average of 12,649 units at $304,524 for each security on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 7,978 shares at $115,701 compared to 8,491 units at $126,214 on Wednesday. October ended with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index advanced by 4.85 points to 1,297.84, the All T&T Index climbed 9.43 points to 1,740.31, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.03 points to close at 115.62.

TTSE falters again

The primary indices fell for a second consecutive day in trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday.  The number of shares exchanged, led by volume leader Clico Investments, was 35 percent higher than Tuesday with values climbing 345 percent.
The market closed with 14 securities trading, up from 20 on Tuesday, and closed with five stocks advancing, seven declining and two remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 177,082 shares for $4,263,329 compared to 101,236 shares valued $958,604 on Tuesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 12,649 units at $304,524 versus an average of 5,062 units at $47,930 for each security on Tuesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounts to 8,491 shares at $126,214 compared to 7,942 units at $102,663 on Tuesday. October closed with an average of 16,922 shares for $285,061.
The T&T Composite Index shed 2.91 points to 1,292.99, the All T&T Index declined by 7.08 points to 1,730.88, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.18 points to close at 115.59.

All indices fell sharply in trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, ending with an exchange of 128 percent more shares and a 47 percent increase in values compared to Monday’s trading.
The number of securities trading surged to 20, from just nine on Monday, and closed with two stocks advancing, seven declining and eleven remaining unchanged. The T&T Composite Index declined by 6.22 points to 1,295.90, the All T&T Index dropped 10.47 points to 1,737.96, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.26 points to close at 115.41.
Trading resulted in 101,236 shares for $958,604 compared to 44,369 shares valued $653,487 on Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 5,062 units at $47,930 versus an average of 4,930 units at $72,610 for each security on Monday. Avalanche of falling TTSE stock prices

Falling prices hit the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday resulted in more than half of the stocks traded declining and sending the primary indices sharply down from the close on Tuesday.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 4.94 points to 1,296.97, the All T&T Index dived 14.16 points to 1,738.39, the Cross Listed Index gained 0.50 points to close at 115.65 after 19 securities trading, up from sixteen on Tuesday, and closed with three stocks advancing, eleven declining and five remaining unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 136 percent more shares at an increased value of 117 percent above Tuesday trades. Market activity resulted in 318,046 shares for $2,909,437 changing hands compared to 134,538 shares valued $1,341,715 on Tuesday.
The day’s average trade is 16,739 units at $153,128 versus an average of 8,408 units at $83,857 for each security on Tuesday. Sixty percent more funds were spent on stocks trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, leading to 129 percent more shares being exchanged than on Wednesday and the number of stocks rising surpassed those declining. Clico Investments accounting for 26 percent of the day’s volume and 45 percent of the value.
The market closed with 16 securities trading, up from thirteen on Wednesday, and closed with seven stocks advancing, four declining and five remaining unchanged, with all three indices rising. Trading resulted in 224,300 shares for $3,339,437 compared to 98,120 shares valued $2,086,202 on Wednesday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 14,019 units at $208,715 versus an average of 7,548 units at $160,477 for each security on Wednesday. For October to date, the average trade amounts to 15,616 shares at $261,652 compared to 15,718 units at $265,026 on Wednesday and exceeds September, with an average of 12,021 shares for $174,137.

Stock prices tumbled on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, with the market declining after investors traded 183 percent more shares than on Wednesday after the market closed for the public holiday on Thursday.

TTSE volume plunged on Monday

The number of securities trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday jumped to 20, but the volume of shares trading dropped to just six percent of Friday’s and led to the market rising.

Investors push TTSE higher for week

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading for the week on a positive note with all three market indices closing higher on Friday as well as the week, with four stocks rising at the close, two declining and nine remaining unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.65 points to 1,324.11, The All T&T Index rose 1.09 points to 1,796.29, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 points to close at 115.08.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading down from 16 on Thursday, with investors trading 66 percent more shares than on Thursday as 452,525 units changed hands at $4,111,682 compared to 273,269 shares for $4,126,089 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day was 30,168 units at $274,112 versus an average of 17,079 stock units for $257,881 for each security on Thursday. The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended activities on Friday with increased trading leading to an equal number of rising and declining stocks after investors traded 250 percent more shares than Thursday valued slightly lower.
