The Jamaica Stock Exchange lost ground in early Wednesday morning trading as stocks traded mostly 
in low volumes, but Barita Investments traded 260,923 units but fell 75 cents to trade at $2.55.
Scotia Group had 143,139 shares changing hands but the price fell back to $30.10 from yesterday’s close of $30.90, Grace Kennedy with its 3 for 1 stock split has traded 52,754 units at yesterday’s close of $41.67, but has more than 250,000 units on offer at the current traded price bids are at $41.50.
The market indices all fell in the main and junior markets, with 6 stocks gaining versus 9 that fell.
The all Jamaica Composite Index fell 236.95 points to 178,347.33 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index declined by 211.88 points to 160,515.99 the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index lost 397.21 points to close at 171,222.45 points and the junior market index dropped 19.56 points to 2,176.59.
At 10:45 am 23 securities traded, resulting in a volume of 675,902 shares changing hands. The average number of shares traded amounts to 29,387 units compared to 25,083 units on Tuesday.
Strong close for JSE stocks on Tuesday
Grace Kennedy hits 52 weeks’ intraday high on Tuesday.
Kingston Wharves moved up by 45 cents to $16 with just 6,514 shares trading. Sagicor Group traded 14,346 units but fell 85 cents to $20.60, Scotia Group jumped 73 cents to $30.90 while 71,417 shares changed hands, Scotia Investments rose by 50 cents to $26.50 but just 4,395 units traded, Sterling fell 49 cents to $12.51 and Supreme Ventures climbed 58 cents to $5.10.In the overall market the prices of 18 securities gained out of a total of 40 securities that traded, with 11 declining, including 5 stocks, rising and 1 falling from the junior market.
The market closed with an overall volume of 4,024,061 units valued at $45,104,460 changing hands, in all market segments. The junior market accounted for 956,421 units traded, valued at $4,918,989 of all trades.

Purity at new high on JSE – Tuesday
Consolidated Bakeries with its Purity brand trade a small volume at a new all-time high of $2.55, while Barita Investments fresh from releasing nine months results, showing good gains over 2015 rose 25 cents to trade at $3.30. 
Trading, however, on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday morning, remains light with no stock trading over 100,000 shares but all major indices rose.
Grace Kennedy traded after 10:30 AM with 5,100 units at $47.71 with a gain of $7.71, after trading ex stock split for the first time. The stock split into 3 shares for each one that previously existed. The market indices all rose moderately in the main and junior markets, with 9 stocks gaining versus 4 that fell. The price gain for Grace help push teh main Market Indices up over 1,000 points.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 242.94 points to 177,994.20 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed 217.24 points to 160,200.24 the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index gained 266.13 points to close at 171,171.30 points and the junior market index gained 6.29 points to 2,200.15.
At 10:30 am 23 securities traded, resulting in a volume of 576,918 shares changing hands. The average number of shares traded amounts to 25,083 units compared to 364,405 units on Monday.
Moderate trading hits JSE – Tuesday
Kingston Wharves traded at a new high of $14 on Tuesday.
The junior market accounted for 829,809 shares valued at $2,684,479 of all trades.
The JSE Market Index slipped 237.38 points to end at 159,565.11. The all Jamaica Composite Index fell 265.49 points to close at 177,283.86 and the JSE combined index dipped 612.10 points, to end at 170,247.51.

A trade for 94,100 units executed by Stocks and Securities at $20, was cancelled in the morning session as the price exceeded the 30 percent price movement limited permitted for one day.
National Commercial Bank ended with only 2,710 units changing hands at $42.01, Pan Jamaican Investment Trust fell 45 cents and closed with 6,755 shares trading at $26. Pulse Investments closed with 3,000 shares changing hands at $2.55, Sagicor Group ended with 4,500 shares changing hands at $23.01 after adding 1 cent to the price. Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 129,243 shares to close at $10.15, Scotia Group had 19,118 shares changing hands to close at $30.80, Scotia Investments ended with 8,055 shares trading to close at $26. Supreme Ventures ended trading with 31,000 units at $4.54 with a gain of 5 cents and Proven Investments traded 765,000 units at 15.1 US cents, after falling from 15.29 US cents previously.
JSE majors ends week with a fall – Monday
Carreras climbed $3 to close at $66.50 on Monday.
The JSE Market Index rose 344.86 points to end at 159,802.49. The all Jamaica Composite Index advanced 385.69 points to close at 177,549.35 and the JSE combined index gained 216.35 points, to end at 170,859.61.

Pulse Investments fell 44 cents to close with 3,000 shares changing hands at $2.55,Radio Jamaica lost 17 cents in trading 20,000 shares to close at $1.68, Sagicor Group ended with 4,796,270 shares changing hands at $23. Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 29,763 shares to close with a rise of 3 cents at $10.15, Scotia Group had 13,762 shares changing hands but rose 19 cents to close at $30.80, Scotia Investments ended with 31,800 shares trading and falling 45 cents, to close at $26. Supreme Ventures ended trading with 15,500 units at $4.49 with a gain of 9 cents and JMMB Group 6% US dollar preference share traded 18,580 units at US$1.05, after falling 10 cents.

Jamaica Broilers ended with a loss of 27 cents with 425,810 units changing hands to close at $14.23, The Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 108,510 share with increased investors’ interest in the stock following reports that the company could be considering a stock split, the stock gained 5 cents to close at $20.80, with the bid closing at $21. JMMB Group traded 257,114 units to close at $9.80. 
National Commercial Bank ended with 73,282 units changing hands at $42, Pan Jamaican Investment Trust closed with 6,602 shares trading at $26. Sagicor Group ended with 657,784 shares changing hands at $23, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 2,400 shares to close with a loss of 2 cents at $10.12. Scotia Group had 12,910 shares changing hands but lost 89 cents to close at $30.61, Scotia Investments ended with 14,500 shares trading, gaining of 45 cents, to close at $26.45, Seprod traded 55,679 shares, but fell 5 cents, to $16.50. Supreme Ventures ended trading with 11,400 units at $4.40 with a loss of 10 cents and Proven Investments 8% preference share traded 600,000 units at $5, after adding 20 cents.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange share dominated trading on Thursday with 11 million shares worth $211,431,551 followed by Jamaica Producers with 4 million units valued at $196,733,933. The market gained ground at the close, with 36 securities trading, as the prices of 15 stocks in the overall market rose, 10 declined, including 5 stocks rising and 4 declining, from the junior market.
Stocks traded, amount to 17,312,730 units valued at $418,558,926, in all market segments with the junior market accounting for to 1,048,182 shares valued at $1,996,575 of all trades.

Jamaica Broilers ended with 14,868 units changing hands to close at $14.50, JMMB Group traded 2,030 units to close at $9.80. National Commercial Bank ended with 19,842 units changing hands at $42, for a fall of 10 cents, Pan Jamaican Investment Trust closed with 7,195 shares trading at $26. Radio Jamaica had 7,200 shares trading at $1.65 after rising by 18 cents, Sagicor Group ended with 57,770 shares changing hands at $23, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 4,995 shares to close at $10.14. Supreme Ventures ended trading with 53,000 units at $4.50, and JMMB Group 7.5% preference share trade 12,886 units at $1.03 after falling 1 cent.
Grace hits new high again – Thursday

Grace Kennedy jumped by $7 to close at a new 52 weeks high of $125 with 196,201 shares, on a day when 38 securities changed hands in the overall Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday. The market closed with prices of 18 stocks in the overall market rising, 13 declining, including 8 stocks rising and 6 declining, from the junior market.

JSE ends May with mild losses
