Syngus Credit Jamaica stock dip below IPO price but teh US based rose.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market retreated on Tuesday after it gained on Monday following Friday’s losses as declining stocks had the upper hand over advancing ones.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index fell 634.73 points to 333,735.28 while the JSE Index slipped 578.31 points to 304,070.53, as declining stocks dominated trading.
Market activities in the main and US dollar markets resulted in 32 securities trading of which 9 advanced, 11 declined and 12 traded firm, compared to 22 securities trading on Monday.
At the close of market activity 6,395,222 units valued at $50,487,361 traded compared to 3,061,341 units valued at over $40,934,808 changed hands, on Monday.
Trading volume was dominated by 1834 Investments with 2 million units followed by Ciboney with 1,589,845 units and Mayberry Investments with 1,084,672 units.
Stocks with major price changes are, JMMB Group rising 50 cents to $29, Sagicor Group climbing $1.10 to $39.10 and Supreme Ventures gaining $1.09 to close at $15, Sygnus Credit falling $2.30 to a low of $13.70 and Productive Business Solution Preference share rose $2 to $105.
Trading resulted in an average of 220,525 units valued at over $1,740,943, in contrast to 113,383 shares valued at $1,516,104 on Monday. For the month to date 195,519 units traded with an average value of $6,383,337 and on the previous day 203,633 units traded with an average value of $6,596,529 on average. May closed with an average of 589,414 shares with a value of $16,532.367, for each security traded.
In the US dollar market, 174,740 units valued at over $22,872 traded with Proven Investments ended trading with 6070 units at 20 US cents, Sugnus Credit Investments 167,670 shares and rose 1.5 cents to a new high of 12.5 US cents and JMMB Group 6% preference share advanced by 10 cents in trading 1,000 stock units at $1.10. The JSE USD Equities Index rose 1.32 points to close at 163.15.

Big JSE main market fall – Friday

The Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped sharply on Friday as declining stocks outpaced advancing ones by a wide margin as just 5 stocks rose, 15 declined and 8 traded firm.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 2,231.98 points to close at 323,425.19 and the JSE Index dived 2,033.58 points to close at 294,676.90. Market activities resulted in 28 securities trading, compared to 27 on Thursday, in the main and US dollar markets.
The market closed with reduced trading levels, as 7,330,113 units valued at $68,164,850 changed hands, well down from 28,791,979 units valued at $527,232,319 that traded on Thursday. The largest trades were Radio Jamaica with 2,329,526 shares for 31.8 percent of volume traded, 1834 Investments trading 2,253,420 shares accounting for 30.7 percent of the volume traded and Jamaica Broilers with 802,930 units.
Stocks with major price changes are, Grace Kennedy ended trading at $48.50, gaining 75 cents, Jamaica Broilers rose 74 cents to $20, Kingston Wharves fell $1.70 to $47, Sagicor Real Estate Fund settled with a loss of 85 cents at $13.90 and Scotia Group added $1.38 to close at $50.63.
Trading resulted in an average of 281,927 units valued at $2,621,725 compared to 1,107,384 units valued at an average of $20,278,166 for each security traded on Thursday. The average for the month to date is 335,057 shares with a value of $12,075,324, previously 338,126 shares with a value of $12,655,026. In contrast, April closed with an average of 708,206 shares with a value of $6,395,518 for each security traded.
In the US dollar market, JMMB Group, 5.75% US preference share finished trading with a loss of 6 cents to US$2, with 1,000 units. The JSE USD Equities Index fell 0.98 points to close at 172.24.

JSE main market index slips again – Thursday

The JSE main market slipped slightly at the close of trading on Tuesday with advancing stocks being outnumbered by a wide margin with declining prices, for the second day.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index slipped 78.81 points to 325,657.17 and the JSE Index declined 71.81 points to close at 296,710.48. as 26 securities changed hands, resulting in 6 advancing, 13 declining and 7 remaining firm. Salada Foods closed trading at a new high of $15.
Market activity resulted in 28,791,979 units valued at $527,232,319 versus 13,526,719 units valued at $293,683,413 trading on Tuesday.
In market activity, Carreras rose 7 cents and finished at $10.60, with 202,080 shares, Caribbean Cement settled at $37.50, with 23,652 shares, Ciboney Group lost 1 cent and ended trading at 12 cents, with 425,941 shares, Grace Kennedy declined 75 cents to $47.75, with 32,133 stock units trading, Jamaica Broilers finished trading at $19.26, with 22,755,531 units changing hands but dropped $2.34 in the process. Jamaica Producers gave up 14 cents in closing at $16.56, with 4,000 shares, Jamaica Stock Exchange inched up by 1 cent and ended at $7.50, with 25,570 shares, JMMB Group concluded trading at $27.50 after inching down 10 cents as 959 stock units changed hands, Kingston Wharves settled at $48.70, with 3,570 units. JSE in big rise again – Tuesday

Trading on the Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Tuesday with JSE All Jamaican Composite Index climbing 1,439.19 points to 317,974.26 and the JSE Index advancing by 1,311.26 points to 289,710.51.
Tuesday was the second consecutive day with gains of more than 1,300 in the market indices. The number of securities trading, rose above that on Monday, but the value traded fell sharply. Main market activity ended with 5,490,162 shares valued at a mere $27,746,053 changing hands, in contrast to 6,473,345 shares valued at $82,423,988 trading on Monday.
Main and US market activities ended with moderate trading levels, leading to prices of 8 securities rising, 14 falling, 9 trading firm as 31 securities changed hands, including 2 from the US market versus 27 that traded on Monday.
The major contributors to the total volume in the market include Ciboney with over 970,000 units, 1834 Investments trading over 2.3 million units, Radio Jamaica with more than 520,000 units and Wisynco with just over 800,000 units. Kingston Wharves jumped $5.55 to a new record high of $42.60, Barita Investments rose 94 cents to end at $8.45, while PanJam Investment rose $1.85 to $41.85, but NCB Financial lost 95 cents to close at $99, Salada Foods fell $1.49 to $10.51 and Scotia Group lost $1 to end at $52.
The US market closed with Margaritaville concluded trading at 22 US cents with 2,835 shares and Proven Investments fell 1.95 cents in exchanging 4,474 ordinary shares, to close at 21 US cents. The market closed with 132,964 shares trading with a value of US$27,986 and the JSE US Equities Index falling 8.95 points to close at 165.23.
Market activity ended with an average of 189,316 shares valued at $956,760, in contrast to 258,934 shares valued at $3,296,960 on Monday. Cement drops $3.04 Scotia up $3 – Monday

A $3 jump in the price of Scotia Group and $1 rise in Sagicor Group helped to move the Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange up strongly on Monday.
The upper pressure on the market indices was eased by declines $3.04 in the price of Caribbean Cement, after the company posted profit that was lower than in 2016, Jamaica Broilers and PanJam Investment that both fell $1. At the close the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index jumped 1,933.56 points to 316,535.07 and the JSE Index climbed by 1,761.69 points to 288,399.25.
1834 Investments traded 1 million units and Pulse Investments with 919,864 units to lead the volume traded.
Main and US market activities ended with moderate trading levels leading to prices of 9 securities rising, 8 falling, 10 trading firm as 27 securities changed hands, including 2 from the US market versus 28 that traded on Friday. Main market activity ended with 6,473,345 shares valued at $82,423,988 changing hands, in contrast to 5,977,622 shares valued at $168,448,904 trading on Friday.

Volatility hits prices on JSE main market

Caribbean Cement stock price jumped $2 on Monday to close at $35.

The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index dropped by 1,137.09 points to close at 314,851.62 and the JSE Index declined by 1,036.02 points to close at 286,865.44 on Monday as nine stocks had wild movement in prices ranging from 79 cents to $2.
The US dollar market index fell 6.90 points to 161.90 as 3 securities traded in this market with a volume of 119,502 units valued at US$33,226. The US dollar market that was up sharply in the first half of the year is now trading in negative territory with the two major contributors to the big move in 2017 suffering sharp reversal in fortunes. The main market closed with 4,115,612 units valued at $48,667,070 trading.

Main market up in moderate trading

In a moderate trading, the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed higher on Monday, with the All Jamaican Composite Index gaining 447.76 points to 321,177.09 and the JSE Index advanced 407.96 points to close at 292,628.66.
The US dollar market index lost points 2.75 to end at 166.34 with three securities trading, accounting for 42,934 shares with a value of US$10,110.
A total of 22 securities changed hands in the main market with trading ending with 8 securities advancing , 8 declined and 6 traded firm as 13,891,915 units, including JMMB Group 7.5% preference share with 11.4 million units traded, valued at $50,338,524, compared to 5,777,201 units valued at $107,680,730 on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 631,451 units for an average of $2,288,115 in contrast to 262,600 units for an average of $4,894,579 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 252,247 units valued at $3,304,830, previously 207,396 units at an average of $3,425,087. JSE main market needs a catalyst

The Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange seems to be stuck around the 320,000 points level and needs a catalyst to moving it.
NCB Financial was expected to have done so but they their full year’s results although up strongly was already baked into the price as such it never moved the market much as investors were very constrained in trading it on Friday.

Moderate trading hits JSE majors
