Consolidated Bakeries with its Purity brand trade a small volume at a new all-time high of $2.55, while Barita Investments fresh from releasing nine months results, showing good gains over 2015 rose 25 cents to trade at $3.30. 
Trading, however, on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday morning, remains light with no stock trading over 100,000 shares but all major indices rose.
Grace Kennedy traded after 10:30 AM with 5,100 units at $47.71 with a gain of $7.71, after trading ex stock split for the first time. The stock split into 3 shares for each one that previously existed. The market indices all rose moderately in the main and junior markets, with 9 stocks gaining versus 4 that fell. The price gain for Grace help push teh main Market Indices up over 1,000 points.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 242.94 points to 177,994.20 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed 217.24 points to 160,200.24 the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index gained 266.13 points to close at 171,171.30 points and the junior market index gained 6.29 points to 2,200.15.
At 10:30 am 23 securities traded, resulting in a volume of 576,918 shares changing hands. The average number of shares traded amounts to 25,083 units compared to 364,405 units on Monday.
SVL trades 12m shares on JSE – Monday
Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday morning resulted in an unusually high level of 34 securities trading. Supreme Ventures (SVL) traded 12,014,100 shares unchanged at $4.70 to be by far the dominant trade. The closest to that is Cable & Wireless with 134,255 units at $1.26.
The bulk of the SVL trade was done between Mayberry Investments, who sold from in house inventory and Scotia 
Investments, the buying broker, who bought for a combination of clients and inhouse purposes.
The market indices all rose moderately, in the main and junior markets, with 9 stocks gaining versus 9 that fell.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 147.69 points to 177,882.62, the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed 132.06 points to 160,100.46 the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index gained 144.22 points to close at 171,008.57 points and the junior market index gained 2.11 points to 2,193.31.
Trading levels at 10:45 am was low, resulting in a volume of 12,389,773 shares changing hands, excluding the SVL trade the total volume would have been only 375,673 units and the average trade would be 11,384 units. Light trading on JSE – Friday
Trading of stocks on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday morning was light, with just 18 securities changing hands ahead of the independence day holiday on Saturday. The market indices all rose in the main and junior markets, but declining stocks were in the ascendancy
with only 3 stocks gaining in price versus 8 that fell.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 124.20 points to 178,078.40 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed 111.05 points to 160,275.52 the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index gained 136.97 points to close at 171,241.10 points andthe junior market index gained 3.31 points to 2,200.15.
Trading levels at 10:45 am was low, resulting in a volume of a mere 112,608 shares changing hands. The average number of shares traded amounts to only 6,256 units compared to 33,688 units on Thursday.
Iron Rock Insurance has buying for 3,992,866 units at $3.28, Jamaica Producers Bond had an offer to sell 5,776,818 units at $1.10 and Radio Jamaica had 967,693 units offered at $1.68.
Rising stocks beat out decliners
Rising stocks have the upper hand on those declining on Thursday morning, 
in continuation of Wednesday’s trading, when advancing stocks beat put declining ones at the close of the market.In the process all main indices of the market rose as 11 securities rose and only 3 declined.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 335.53 points to 180,658.09 the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed 300.02 points to 162,582.23 the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index gained 504.39 points to close at 173,446.27 points andthe junior market index gained 22.04 points to 2,206.54.
Trading levels at 10:45 am was low, resulting in 23 securities changing hands and accounting for a volume of 808,516 shares. The average number of shares traded amounts to 33,688 units compared to 81,834 units on Wednesday.
JSE gained 1,000 points – Wednesday
The Jamaica Stock Exchange all Jamaica Composite index surged 1,134 points on the Wednesday morning session and the main market JSE index shot up by 1,036 points after nearly an hours trading but slipped back slightly with 14 securities rising and only 5 declining.
Cable & Wireless traded at $1.20, Carib Cement traded at $26, Kingston Wharves moving to $15.99 while National Commercial Bank traded at $42.75 and Scotia Group traded at $30.50.

Trading at 10:45 am resulted in 26 securities changing hands, accounting for a volume of 2,127,681 shares. The average number of shares traded amounts to 81,834 units compared to 83,033 units on Tuesday.
Junior index jumps 41 points – Friday
The junior market index jumped by 41 points with one new high and Knutsford Express jumping $4 while main market stocks also rose.
Cargo Handlers traded 1,875 units climbing $7 to a new all-time high of $56 while Knutsford Express jumped $4 to $19 with just 316 units changing hands. Caribbean Cement traded 87,953 to at $24.95 for a rise of $1.95 while National Commercial Bank fresh from reporting a 25 percent jump in June quarter results has so far traded just 9,333 units at $42, with the bid at $42 with a small volume being demanded.

Lasco Distributors hits junior index – Wednesday
Lasco Distributors fell initially to $6.55 and headed back to $7.40 and helped hit the junior market index down by 41 points, but main market stocks also slipped but marginally.
The fall in the Lasco share price was in reaction to the company’s first quarter profit after tax of $175.4 million, or 33% more than the same period in 2015.
The market saw Scotia Investments trading 100,000 units at $25.01, JMMB Group 7.50% preference share traded 90,000 units at $1.10, Pan Jamaican Investment had 74,764 shares changing hands at $24.50 and Consolidated Bakeries traded 185,000 units at $2.15.

The Jamaica stock market saw heavy trading in Jamaica Broilers Group with over 5 million shares with the bulk being crosses done by Scotia Investments.

Trading at 10:50 am resulted in only 27 securities changing hands, accounting for a volume of 7,009,625 shares, with 8 securities rising and only 12 falling. The average number of shares traded amounts to 259,616 compared to an average of 32,438 units on Monday.
Slow start for JSE – Monday
The Jamaica stock market is off to slow start within 75 minutes of the opening of market on Monday. The stocks with the highest volume are 1834 Investments with 204,000 units 
with the price rising to $1.17 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share with 104,545 units at $2.10.
Caribbean Cement that sold off on Friday is now seeing strong demand with bids to buy over 400,000 units at $20 to $22.41, having closed on Friday with little demand at the end of trading. The stock traded up to $22.55 in the morning session.
