Fall for JSE Main market

Trading activity cooled from the month-end frenzy with the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended on Tuesday with only a handful of stocks posting gains and more than half those trading ending with losses after an exchange of 55 percent fewer shares than on Monday at a value that fell 289 percent.
The All Jamaican Composite Index shed 1,918.58 points to close at 436,126.60, the Main Index declined by 1,705.00 points to 397,871.10 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.47 points to settle at 104.38.
Trading ended with 42 securities changing hands compared to 49 on Monday and closed with the prices of just six stocks rising, 26 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at  15.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 7,460,379 shares for $43,882,188 compared to 16,714,722 units at $170,632,583 on Monday. Wigton Windfarm led trading with 56.4 percent of total volume, after exchanging 4.21 million shares, followed by Transjamaican Highway with 17.9 percent and 1.34 million units and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 5.9 percent of market share for 438,631 shares.
Trading averaged 177,628 units at $1,044,814 for each security compared to an average of 341,117 shares at $3,482,298 on Monday. In contrast, November averaged 623,120 units at $6,686,047.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows nine stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Eppley fell $1.29 to $23.15, in exchanging 2,349 shares, Eppley Caribbean Property Fund declined $4.90 to $40, with the trading of 8,925 stock units, Grace Kennedy closed $2.40 lower at $64.10, in transferring 13,478 stock units. Jamaica Producers Group gained 75 cents to end at $21.75, with 1,470 units changing hands, JMMB Group fell $1.78 to $33.22, with an exchange of 163,274 shares, Key Insurance shed 32 cents to end at $10.66 after trading 50,126 shares. Kingston Wharves settled at $47.11, with a loss of $1.29 in transferring 799 units, NCB Financial shed $1.01 in closing at $145 trading 86,804 shares, Pan Jam Investment dropped $6.50 to $63.50, with 55,347 shares crossing the market. Proven Investments shed $3 to $36 in trading 19,127 stock units, Salada Foods lost $1 to settle at $26 in exchanging 1,366 units, Scotia Group fell $1 to $45, with 122,414 shares changing hands. Supreme Ventures gained 40 cents to close at $17.03, after the swapping of 21,899 stock units and Sygnus Credit Investments shed $1.31 in ending at $16, with a transfer of 53,907 shares.
In the preference segmentEppley 8.25% dropped $1.46 to settle at $7 after crossing the exchange with 180 units.

4 days of gains for Junior Market

Stocks rose for the fourth consecutive day on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange when the market index eked a modest rise at the close on Tuesday despite more stocks falling than rising as market activity accounted for 65 percent fewer shares changing hands than on Monday.
Trading ended with 35 stocks changing hands compared to 34 on Monday, with prices of 13 stocks rising, 18 declining and four remaining unchanged.
The Market Index squeezed out a gain of 5.26 points to close at 2,521.33. The average PE is 13.1 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading in 6,501,187 shares for $15,100,161 versus 10,722,538 units at $28,515,368 on Monday. Jamaican Teas controlled 52.3 percent of total volume with 3.40 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 20.3 percent after a transfer of 1.32 million units and Fontana with 8.2 percent market share or 530,841 units.
Trading averaged 185,748 units at $431,433 compared to 315,369 at $838,687 on Monday. November ended with an average of 193,331 units at $566,885.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the market shows six stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped $2.58 to $19.92 with the trading of a mere 100 shares,  AMG Packaging gained 6 cents to end at $1.65 with an exchange of 1,141 stocks, Blue Power rose 5 cents to $2.60 in an exchange of 7,040 stock units. CAC 2000 shed $2 to  $8 with a transfer of 1,564 shares, Cargo Handlers lost 11 cents to $7.20 with 200 units traded, Caribbean Assurance Brokers advanced 19 cents to $1.91 with an exchange of 500 stocks. Caribbean Cream fell 12 cents to $4 with 8,513 shares changing hands, Caribbean Flavours lost 5 cents to close at $1.70 with a transfer of 14,992 stocks, Caribbean Producers climbed 18 cents to $2.60 with 500 units traded. Consolidated Bakeries declined by 12 cents to settle at $1.10 with 5,000 shares passing through the market, Derrimon Trading gained 15 cents and exchanged 66,059 stocks to end at $2.50, Elite Diagnostic dropped 27 cents to $3.03 with 88,087 units changing hands. Express Catering rose 5 cents to $4.05 with a transfer of 250 shares, Fontana traded 530,841 stock units and lost 3 cents to end at $4.97, Fosrich slipped 10 cents to $3.90 with 4,068 stocks passing through the market. General Accident fell 24 cents to $5.96 with 123,138 shares changing hands, GWest Corporation gained 4 cents to finish at 69 cents in switching ownership of 11,159 units, iCreate closed 1 cent higher at 66 cents with 19,023 stock units traded. Indies Pharma lost 3 cents to end at $2.55 with a transfer of 5,428 shares, Jamaican Teas traded 3,400,162 units in shedding 22 cents to settle at $1.79, KLE Group dropped 30 cents to $1.15 with 5,000 stocks passing through the market. Knutsford Express jumped 29 cents to $6 with 1,053 shares traded, Lasco Distributors rose 17 cents to $3.46 with 21,784 stocks changing hands, Lasco Manufacturing closed 2 cents higher at $3.68 in a transfer of 95,410 units. Limners and Bards fell 13 cents to $2.50 with 39,832 stock units traded, Lumber Depot declined 15 cents to $1.20 with 168,882 shares passing through the market, Mailpac Group traded 1,321,705 stocks and slipped 1 cent to $2.20. SSL Venture rose 3 cents to 56 cents with a transfer of  14,628 units, Tropical Battery lost 6 cents to finish at $1.17 with 225,701 shares traded and tTech shed 52 cents to close at $4.08 with 44,599 stock units crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 gained 1 cent to end at $1 with 99,921 stocks changing hands.

Trading activity eases on JSE USD market

Trading pulled back on Tuesday from the heightened levels of Monday on the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the market index declining after trading 74 percent fewer shares than on Monday. 
Trading ended with five securities changing hands compared to eight on Monday and closed with prices of two rising, one declining and two remaining unchanged.
The JSE USD Equities Index dipped 3.59 points to 186.75. The average PE Ratio ended at 13.7 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market saw an exchange of 146,929 shares, for US$26,156 compared to  555,393 units at US$24,950 on Monday. Trading averaged 29,386 units at US$5,231, in contrast to an average of 69,424 shares at US$3,119 on Monday. Trading ended with an average of 51,134 units at US$4,516 for November.

At the close of the market, First Rock Capital Investment closed at 9 US cents, in trading 31 shares, Proven Investments lost 1.99 cents and ended at 24 US cents, after exchanging 75,413 shares, Sterling Investments lost half a cent to end at 2.45 US cents, with 5,000 stock units changing hands. Sygnus Credit Investments gained one-tenth of a cent to end at 16.6 US cents, in crossing the market with 47,956 shares and Transjamaican Highway ended at 0.90 of a US cent,  trading 18,529 stock units.

Trading activity chilled a bit on the with an exchange of only 12 securities, down from nineteen on Monday as the market enters the final month of the year for the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, resulting in an exchange of 96 percent fewer shares, with the value falling 90 percent below Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 2,576 units at $160,937 versus an average of 37,205 units at $1,016,053 for each security on Monday, compared to November with an average of 12,529 units at $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.33 points to 1,293.82, the All T&T Index fell 1.46 points to 1,723.87, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.11 points to close at 116.80.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ JMMB Group closed at $1.80, with gains of 3 cents after 1,911 shares changed hands, Republic Financial Holdings picked up 3 cents to finish at $133.03, in trading 13,468 stock units and Trinidad Cement gained 1 cent in exchanging 450 units to settle at $2.11.
Stocks declining│ NCB Financial Group lost 10 cents to end at $8 after 9,685 stock units crossed the market, Prestige Holdings shed 24 cents trading 1,453 units to finish at $7.01, Scotiabank fell $1 to 54, in exchange for 436 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL declined by $1.63 to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $14.25, in transferring 476 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Ansa Merchant Bank remained at $39.50, with trades of 112 units, First Caribbean International Bank held firm at $7.05, in exchanging 910 units, Grace Kennedy remained at $3.70 trading 25 units. National Enterprises transferred 880 units at $3.39 and National Flour closed at $2, with 1,104 units changing hands.
