Declining stocks dominate on Trinidad exchange

Declining stocks doubled those rising at the close of market activity on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday and resulted in a big drop in volume and value of stocks trading compared to Monday.
Seventeen securities traded, down from 21 on Monday, with five rising, 10 declining and two closing unchanged.
The Composite Index popped 0.95 points to 1,521.58, the All T&T Index rose 2.58 points to 2,131.58 and the Cross-Listed Index lost 0.11 points to settle at 121.77.
A total of 139,988 shares traded, for $972,176 in contrast with, 2,793,605 units at $10,485,578 on Monday. An average of 8,235 units traded at $57,187 versus 133,029 at $499,313 on Monday, and month to date averaging 38,423 units at $235,117 compared to 43,264 units at $263,655. The average trade for December ended 21,703 units at $306,768.

Trading picks up in Trinidad

Market activity picked up on Monday on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, resulting in 140 percent more shares trading, with a 156 percent higher value than Friday, as the market closed with falling stocks beating rising ones on a two to one ratio.
A total of 21 securities traded up from 12 on Friday, with four rising, eight declining and nine ending unchanged. The Composite Index gained 0.48 points to end at 1,520.63, the All T&T Index fell 0.89 points to close at 2,129.00 and the Cross-Listed Index added 0.27 points to settle at 121.88.
Overall, 2,793,605 shares traded, for $10,485,578 compared to 1,164,654 units at $4,097,849 on Friday. An average of 133,029 units traded at $499,313 up from 97,055 at $341,487 on Friday, with trading month to date averaging 43,264 units at $263,655 versus 21,087 units at $205,435. More declines for T&T stocks

Market activity ended on Thursday and resulted in a three-way split in the movement of stocks at the close of trading, rising after 228 percent more shares, passed through the market than Wednesday, at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Overall, 21 securities traded up from 15 on Wednesday, with seven each rising and falling and seven ended unchanged. The Composite Index shed 1.68 points to end at 1,518.95, the All T&T Index fell 3.05 points to 2,126.99 and the Cross-Listed Index dipped 0.03 points to settle at 121.70.

Huge surge in Trinidad Stock Exchange

Trading on Tuesday took on a strong bullish tone on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and resulted in nearly three stocks rising for every one falling and sending the Composite Index climbing 24.50 points to a record 1,522.84, the All T&T Index soaring 47.08 points to record 2,132.29, while the Cross-Listed Index just inched up 0.05 points to settle at 122.03, after 20 percent fewer shares were traded with 67 percent lower value than Monday.

Market activity was mixed on Monday after declining stocks edged out those rising after 57 percent fewer shares changed hands, with 32 percent lower value than on Friday, at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

Trinidad stocks hit record high

Stocks put in another solid performance on Thursday to record another all-time record high for the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on a day when rising stocks than had a near six to one margin over those stocks that declined and sent the All T&T Index up 17.7 percent for the year with just one more day of trading remaining.
The index hit a record high on November 16, this year bettering the previous record of 2,032.53 points reached on January 3, 2014. Since then the market hit record highs on each of the seven trading days from December 21. The rally was driven by 10 stocks with Massy Holdings announcing a 25 for one stock split is by far the major mover, with a rise of  $48.34 for a 79 percent gain for the year to date.
At the close of trading on Thursday, 19 securities traded up from 15 on Wednesday, with 11 stocks rising, two fell and six closing unchanged. The Composite Index climbed 10.88 points to 1,497.58, the All T&T Index spiked 17.31 points to 2,085.82 and the Cross-Listed Index rose 0.56 points to settle at 121.67.

Best results in 8 years for Trinidad stocks

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange is on track to record its best performance in eight years, with market activity gathering momentum in the second half of the year to be up nearly 17 for the year to date, just shy of the 17.7 percent in 2013.
Trading ended Wednesday, with two stocks hitting 52 weeks’ high as an equal number of stocks rising and falling after trading 299 percent more shares, valued 142 percent more than on Tuesday, at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, 15 securities traded compared to 17 on Tuesday, with five stocks each rising, declining and trading unchanged. The Composite Index added 1.41 points to close at 1,486.70, for a rise of 12.4 percent year to date.
