TTSE starts September positively

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock exchange reopened on Tuesday, after closing for the Independence Day celebrations on Monday, with market indices inching higher in a modest trading session to start off the new month on a slightly positive note.
The T&T Composite Index gained 1.10 points to 1,325.21, The All T&T Index rose 1.79 points to 1,798.08, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.05 points to close at 115.13.
The market closed with eleven securities trading with two advancing, five declining and four remaining unchanged. Stocks passing through the market totaled 263,667 shares valued at $5,381,838 compared to 452,525 shares for $4,111,682 from 15 securities on Friday.
The average trade on Tuesday amounted to 23,970 units at $489,258 versus an average of 30,168 stock units for $274,112 for each security on Friday. August closed with an average of 15,361 shares for $367,803.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than its last selling price and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Trinidad and Tobago NGL closed at $17, with gains of 50 cents trading 75,039 shares and West Indian Tobacco jumped $2.25 to $38.90, in transferring 51,820 stock units.
Stocks declining│ Agostini’s lost 4 cents exchanging 100 units to finish at $24.95, Clico Investments slipped 3 cents to $27.75, after 52,526 shares changed hands, JMMB Group ended 1 cent lower at $1.75, with 50,000 shares crossing the market. Massy Holdings closed at $59.50, having shed 50 cents trading 353 units and Scotiabank ended at $54.55, with a loss of 10 cents exchanging 526 units.
Stocks trading firm│ First Citizens Bank traded 20 units at $46.10, Guardian Holdings closed at $20, with a transfer of 24,000 stock units, Guardian Media exchanged 8,647 stock units at $5 and Republic Financial Holdings remained at $141.50, with 636 units changing hands.

Investors push TTSE higher for week

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading for the week on a positive note with all three market indices closing higher on Friday as well as the week, with four stocks rising at the close, two declining and nine remaining unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index gained 0.65 points to 1,324.11, The All T&T Index rose 1.09 points to 1,796.29, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.03 points to close at 115.08.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading down from 16 on Thursday, with investors trading 66 percent more shares than on Thursday as 452,525 units changed hands at $4,111,682 compared to 273,269 shares for $4,126,089 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day was 30,168 units at $274,112 versus an average of 17,079 stock units for $257,881 for each security on Thursday. Trading for the month to date resulted in an average of 15,361 units crossing the market at $367,803, versus 14,500 shares at $373,250, to Thursday. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than its last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Stocks rising│ First Citizens Bank rose 10 cents to close at $46.10, in transferring 1,194 units, Guardian Holdings added 50 cents after trading 1,391 units to close at $20. JMMB Group ended at $1.76, with a gain of 1 cent after exchanging 296,275 shares and One Caribbean Media ended 9 cents higher at $5.24 after trading 2,000 units.
Stocks declining│ CinemaOne shed 20 cents transferring 150 units to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $4.20 and Trinidad and Tobago NGL finished 50 cents lower at $16.50 in trading 8,970 stock units.
Stocks trading firm│ Clico Investments exchanged 43,142 shares at $27.78, Endeavour Holdings ended at $12.45 trading 75 units, First Caribbean International Bank held firm at $7 after transferring 33,132 shares. Grace Kennedy closed with an exchange of 19,107 stock units at $3.50, NCB Financial Group was unchanged at $8, with 26,661 shares traded, Prestige Holdings saw the transfer of 1,070 units at $8.20. Republic Financial Holdings held at $141.50, with an exchange of 7,000 stock units, Scotiabank closed at $54.65, with 10,386 stock units crossing the market and West Indian Tobacco traded 1,972 units at $36.65.

T&T exchange closes higher again

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange rose on Thursday, with investors trading 600 percent more shares than on Wednesday, resulting in more stocks rising than falling at the close, with locally based stock recording gains in the market index each day since Monday.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading, with the prices of five stocks advancing, four declining and the prices of seven ended unchanged. The market activity resulted in 273,269 shares valued at $4,126,089 changing hands, compared to 38,812 shares for $1,612,168 from 12 securities on Wednesday.
The average trade on Wednesday is 17,079 units for $257,881, versus an average of 3,234 stock units for $134,347 for each security. An average of 14,500 units traded at $373,250 for the month to date versus 14,330 units at $396,799. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index gained 1.51 points to 1,323.46, the All T&T Index added 4.58 points to 1,795.20, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.22 points to close at 115.05.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Wednesday, with a strong rise for some stock prices, with the day’s volume amounted to a mere 9 percent of the shares changing hands on Tuesday.
The market closed with twelve securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, three declining and six unchanged. The T&T Composite Index climbed 6.68 points to 1,321.95 and the All T&T Index jumped 13.86 points to 1,790.62, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.08 points to close at 115.27.
The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 38,812 shares valued at $1,611,856 compared to 439,247 shares for $23,292,329 on Tuesday from 18 securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 3,234 units at $134,321 versus an average of 24,403 stock units for $1,294,018 for each security. The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday, with prices mostly slipping after investors exchanged 60 percent more shares than on Monday, with more than five times the value.

The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 439,247 shares valued at $23,292,329 compared to 273,047 shares for $4,226,887 on Monday from 15 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 24,403 units at $1,294,018 versus an average of 18,203 stock units for $281,792 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,909 shares at $410,492, versus an average of 14,103 units at $335,475. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 2.22 points to 1,315.27. The All T&T Index rose 0.36 points to 1,776.76, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.66 points to close at 115.35.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended activities on Friday with increased trading leading to an equal number of rising and declining stocks after investors traded 250 percent more shares than Thursday valued slightly lower.

The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 341,281 shares valued at $5,621,034 compared to 96,708 shares for $6,309,684 on Thursday from 16 securities.
The average trade on Friday amounted to 20,075 units at $330,649 versus an average of 6,044 stock units for $394,355 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 13,790 shares at $339,563, versus an average of 13,197 units at $340,405. In contrast, July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index declined by 9.02 points to 1,313.03. The All T&T Index dropped 10.02 points to 1,774.16, while the Cross Listed Index fell by 1.09 points to close at 115.10.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Thursday, with the market closing mixed for the second consecutive day after investors traded 23 percent more shares than on Wednesday resulting in falling stocks just edging out those rising.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with three advancing, four declining and nine unchanged. The market ended, with 96,708 shares valued at $6,310,824 passing through the exchange compared to 78,331 shares for $1,467,537 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The average trade on Thursday amounted to 6,044 units at $394,426 versus an average of 6,025 stock units for $112,887 for each security. For the month to date trading resulted in an average of 13,197 shares at $340,405 each and the average was 13,895 shares for $335,134 on the prior day July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.13 points to 1,322.05, The All T&T Index added 1.03 points to close at 1,784.18, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.18 points to end at 116.19.

TTSE falters on Monday

Market activity ended on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday, with the market declining after investors traded 55 percent fewer shares than on Friday, resulting from more stocks falling than rising.
The market closed with eleven securities trading with one advancing, six declining and four unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 106,336 shares valued at $2,270,419 compared to 237,902 shares for $12,141,404 on Friday from 10 securities.
The average trade for the day amounted to 9,667 units at $206,402 versus an average of 23,790 stock units for $1,214,140 for each security on Friday. An average of 13,288 units traded at $348,895 for the month to date versus 13,610 units at $361,535 up to Friday. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 2.37 points to 1,316.31. The All T&T Index dropped 5.90 points to 1,778.46, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.16 points to close at 115.41.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than its last selling price and four with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ JMMB Group picked up 3 cents to end the day at $1.93, with 44,490 shares changing hands.
Stocks declining│ Ansa Merchant Bank shed 30 cents to close at $36, in transferring 1,394 units, First Citizens Bank finished 45 cents lower at $46.30, with an exchange of 6,959 stock units, Guardian Holdings lost 1 cent trading 215 units to end at $19.34. Massy Holdings declined $1 to $59, with 2,270 units changing hands, Prestige Holdings slid 20 cents to $8, after transferring 8,069 stock units and Republic Financial Holdings lost 2 cents and closed at $141.25, in trading 4,015 stock units.
Stocks trading firm│ Clico Investments exchanged 37,014 shares at $27.78, NCB Financial Group transferred 1,400 units at $7.87, Scotiabank held firm at $54.90, with 160 units crossing the market and Unilever Caribbean was unchanged at $17, in trading 350 units.
