TTSE trading activity picks up

Trading activities picked up on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Monday with more active securities compared to Friday, leading to a 90 percent increase in the number of shares traded with values that are 65 percent higher than Friday’s levels.

The market closed with 19 securities trading, up from twelve on Friday, and ended with rising and declining stocks accounting for five each and nine remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 94,430 shares for $2,398,390 up from 49,633 shares valued $833,139 on Friday.
The average trade amounts to 4,970 units at $126,231 versus an average of 4,136 units at $69,428 for each security on Friday. Month to date averaged 15,559 shares at $237,841 compared to 17,235 units at $225,512 on Friday. November closed with an average of 18,691 shares for $276,188.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.37 points to 1,299.96, the All T&T Index dropped 8.61 points to 1,731.50, while the Cross Listed Index gained 1.09 points to close at 117.42.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of four stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
Stocks rising| JMMB Group gained 7 cents to close at $1.90, with 54,650 shares crossing the market, L.J Williams B picked up 1 cent to settle at $1.40, in exchanging 50 units, NCB Financial Group rose 5 cents to $8.10 trading 2,876 stocks. Point Lisas finished 1 cent higher at $3.15, in transferring 4,685 stock units and Trinidad Cement gained 2 cents to $2.32, with an exchange of 1,000 units.
Stocks declining|First Citizens Bank fell $1 to $42, transferring 124 shares, Guardian Holdings lost 7 cents to close at $20.93, with 156 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings shed 14 cents to end at $133.86, after trading 14,499 shares. Trinidad and Tobago NGL declined by $2 to $14.50 in transferring 6,721 stock units and West Indian Tobacco lost 3 cents, exchanging 92 units to finish at $35.37.

Market activity slumped on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange after just 12 securities trading down from seventeen on Thursday and resulting in an exchange of 42 percent fewer shares valued 60 percent trading lower than Thursday, with the main market indices ending mixed after four days of unbroken gains.
The market closed, with five stocks rising, three declining and four remaining unchanged and ended with 49,633 shares changing hands for $833,139 compared to 86,128 shares for $2,084,034 on Thursday.
The average trade amounts to 4,136 units at $69,428 versus an average of 5,072 units at $122,590 for each security on Thursday. Month to date averaged 17,235 shares at $25,512 compared to 18,691 shares for $276,188 on Thursday. November closed with an average of 12,529 units at $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 0.28 points to 1,300.33, the All T&T Index added 0.46 points to 1,740.11, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.14 points to close at 116.33.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.

Prestige Holdings gained 30 cents, trading 8,872 stock units to settle at $7.50 and Trinidad and Tobago NGL added 49 cents to end at $16.50 in exchanging 11,502 shares.
Stocks declining│ Grace Kennedy dipped 9 cents to $3.61 trading 13,779 shares, Massy Holdings, fell by $1 to $57, with an exchange of 100 units and One Caribbean Media lost 5 cents transferring 3,525 units to finish at $4.75.

Trading volume fell 63 percent, with the value declining 73 percent at the close of the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday compared to Wednesday falling, but the main market indices continued to rise for a fourth consecutive day.
The market closed with 17 securities trading, down from eighteen on Wednesday, and ended with eight stocks rising, five declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 86,128 shares for $2,084,033.87 compared to 234,857 shares valued $3,362,566 on Wednesday.
The average trade ends at 5,072 units at $122,590 versus an average of 13,048 units at$186,809 on Wednesday. Month to date averaged 18,691 shares at $276,188 compared to 21,235 units at $304,882 on Wednesday. November averaged 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index rose 3.66 points to 1,300.61, the All T&T Index advanced by 8.05 points to 1,739.65, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.11 points to close at 116.47.

Stocks continue to rise on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, pushing the market indices higher and stretching gains enjoyed over the previous two days for a third day as rising stocks beat decliners 5 to 2, with the number of active securities climbing to 18 from 11 on Tuesday, with reduced value and volume than Tuesday’s levels.
The market closed with 18 securities trading, up from eleven on Tuesday, and ended with five stocks advancing, two declining and eleven remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in an exchange of 57 percent fewer shares at 42 percent less value compared to Tuesday as 234,857 shares traded at $3,362,566 compared to 541,911 shares valued at $5,823,399 on Tuesday.
The average trade amounts to 13,048 units at $186,809 versus an average of 49,264 units at $529,400 on Tuesday. Month to date averaged 21,235 shares at $304,882 compared to 23,254 units at $333,996 on Tuesday. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.

Stocks prices mostly pulled back, with some falling sharply Trinidad and Tobago Exchange on Friday at the close of trading, leaving the main market indices with sizable declines as just one stock rose. Market activity ended with the volume of stocks traded rising 97 percent while values were 117 percent higher when compared to Thursday as trading resulted in 254,549 shares for $6,034,898 compared to 129,140 shares valued at $2,841,182 on Thursday. The market closed after 14 securities traded, up from nine on Thursday and ended with one advancing, six declining and seven remaining unchanged.
Trading averaged 18,182 units at $431,064 versus an average of 14,349 units at $315,687 on Thursday. Month to date averaged 16,842 shares at $339,903 compared to 16,334 units at $305,410 on Thursday. November closed with an average of 12,529 shares for $181,770.

The volume of stocks trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Exchange plunged on Thursday by 71 percent compared to Wednesday as the number of securities trading fell by nearly a half leading to a 56 percent decline in the value changing hands.

Trading activity chilled a bit on the with an exchange of only 12 securities, down from nineteen on Monday as the market enters the final month of the year for the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, resulting in an exchange of 96 percent fewer shares, with the value falling 90 percent below Monday.
The average trade for the day amounted to 2,576 units at $160,937 versus an average of 37,205 units at $1,016,053 for each security on Monday, compared to November with an average of 12,529 units at $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.33 points to 1,293.82, the All T&T Index fell 1.46 points to 1,723.87, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.11 points to close at 116.80.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ JMMB Group closed at $1.80, with gains of 3 cents after 1,911 shares changed hands, Republic Financial Holdings picked up 3 cents to finish at $133.03, in trading 13,468 stock units and Trinidad Cement gained 1 cent in exchanging 450 units to settle at $2.11.
Stocks declining│ NCB Financial Group lost 10 cents to end at $8 after 9,685 stock units crossed the market, Prestige Holdings shed 24 cents trading 1,453 units to finish at $7.01, Scotiabank fell $1 to 54, in exchange for 436 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL declined by $1.63 to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $14.25, in transferring 476 units.
Stocks trading firm│ Ansa Merchant Bank remained at $39.50, with trades of 112 units, First Caribbean International Bank held firm at $7.05, in exchanging 910 units, Grace Kennedy remained at $3.70 trading 25 units. National Enterprises transferred 880 units at $3.39 and National Flour closed at $2, with 1,104 units changing hands.
