Big jump in funds entering Trinidad Exchange

Traders pumped 117 percent more money into the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, than they did on Tuesday but traded 29 percent less shares trading in 15 securities compared with 19 on Tuesday, with three stocks rising, eight declining and four unchanged.
Investors traded 501,834 shares for $13,032,564 compared with 702,526 stock units at $5,994,421 on Tuesday.
An average of 33,456 units were exchanged for $868,838 compared with 36,975 shares at $315,496 on Tuesday, with trading month to date averaging 41,960 shares at $344,847 versus 43,248 units at $265,454 on the previous day. The average trade for February was  51,996 shares at $458,520.
The Composite Index advanced 1.09 points to 1,325.89, the All T&T Index lost 1.46 points to end at 1,982.94, the SME Index was unchanged at 61.52 and the Cross-Listed Index gained 0.53 points to close at 87.17.

Rising prices dominate trading in Trinidad

Trading levels remained relatively steady on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 19 percent and the value moderately more than on Monday, resulting in 19 securities trading compared with 19 on Monday, with 11 stocks rising three declining and five remaining unchanged, but resulted in a fall in the leading market indices as Angostura Holdings declined $1.89 and overwhelmed price gains elsewhere.
The Composite Index dropped 4.72 points to 1,324.80, the All T&T Index fell 11.34 points to 1,984.40, the SME Index remained at 61.52 and the Cross-Listed Index rallied 0.33 points to settle at 86.64.

Investors seem exhausted from the long festivities of the carnival season, well that seems like the message for trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 39 percent with the value down 75 percent from Wednesday outturn, resulting in 20 securities trading compared with 18 on Wednesday, with just three stocks rising, eight declining and nine remaining unchanged.
Investors exchanged 73,286 shares for $718,570, down from a depressed 120,475 stock units at $2,896,613 on Wednesday.
An average of 3,664 shares were traded at $35,928 down from 6,693 shares at $160,923 on Wednesday, with trading month to date averaging 53,713 shares at $485,273 compared to 57,462 units at $518,933 on the previous day. The average trade for January amounts to 28,440 at $235,404.
