Rising stocks dominant on July 1

Rising stocks was the dominant feature of market activity on the first day of the second half of the year on Thursday, after 596 percent more shares traded, with the value ending 216 percent higher than on Wednesday and resulting in more stocks rising than falling at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, 16 stocks traded compared to 15 on Wednesday, with 10 rising, four declining and two remaining unchanged. The Composite Index rose 4.25 points to 1,406.81, but the All T&T Index dropped 14.85 points to 1,913.34, and The Cross-Listed Index popped 3.46 points to 121.19.
A total of, 954,000 shares traded, for $10,071,673 compared to 137,142 units at $3,189,621 on Wednesday.
An average of 59,625 units traded at $629,480 compared to 9,143 at $212,641 on Wednesday. The average trade for June amounts to 45,770 units at $724,455.

At the close, Agostini’s rallied 50 cents to $25 after an exchange of 92,703 shares, Angostura Holdings declined 29 cents to $16.20 with the swapping of 122 units, Clico Investment Fund popped 10 cents to $27 with the swapping of 70,364 shares. CinemaOne advanced by 1 cent to $4 with the swapping of 1,000 stocks, Grace Kennedy rallied 32 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $5.73 in trading 224,462 stocks. Guardian Holdings lost 41 cents to close at $32.51 in switching ownership of 77 units, Guardian Media closed at $3.25, with 303,854 stock units changing hands, JMMB Group rose 5 cents to $2 with the swapping of 11,554 shares. L.J Williams B share closed at $1.34, with 400 stocks crossing the market, Massy Holdings fell 50 cents to $80 in an exchange of 2,228 stock units, National Flour Mills popped 15 cents to $2.25 in trading 88,047 shares. NCB Financial Group spiked 51 cents to $8.51, with 71,450 shares changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings lost $4.89 to close at $135.10 in an exchange of 48 shares, Trinidad & Tobago NGL rose 48 cents to $18 in trading 15,792 stock units. Trading dominated by rising stocks

Stocks mostly rose on the final day at the half-year mark on Wednesday on a day when it was very difficult to find declining stocks on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange, leaving the market with a gain of six percent for the year to date.
Market activity ended, with 87 percent fewer shares carrying a 94 percent lower value than on Tuesday, as 15 traded compared to 18 on Tuesday, with prices of eight rising, one declining and six closed unchanged. The Composite Index surged 14.69 points to 1,402.56, the All T&T Index spiked 24.93 points to 1,928.19 and the Cross-Listed Index popped 0.52 points to settle at 117.73.
Overall, 137,142 shares traded for $3,189,621 versus 1,087,460 units at $49,668,632 on Tuesday. An average of 9,143 units traded at $212,641 down from 60,414 shares at $2,759,368 on Tuesday. Trading month to date averages 45,770 units at $724,497 versus 47,288 units at $745,707. The trades for May averaged 25,935 units at $406,593.

Trinidad Cement closed at $3.27 with the swapping of 3,910 stock units and West Indian Tobacco remained at $32, with 162 shares changing hands.

Market activity ended on Monday, with the market rising after investors traded 21 times the shares changing hands on Friday at 394 percent increased value, resulting in more stocks falling than rising as 22 securities traded up from 14 on Friday at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

Market activity ended on Friday, with the indices declining moderately after investors traded 14 percent more shares carrying a sharply higher value than on Thursday, with 222 percent more funds chasing stocks, resulting in slightly more stocks rising than falling at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

Market activity ended on Wednesday with the market declining after trading 86 percent fewer shares carrying with 89 percent less value than on Tuesday, resulting in slightly more stocks falling than rising at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Only 13 securities traded compared to 15 on Tuesday, with two rising, three declining and eight closing unchanged. The Composite Index shed 4.21 points to end at 1,387.25, the All T&T Index lost 6.77 points to end at 1,901.37 and the Cross-Listed Index slipped 0.21 points to 117.31.

Most TTSE stocks end trading flat on Friday

The majority of the 20 securities trading on Friday ended the day with no price movements, but Ansa Merchant bank closed at a 52 weeks’ high after the prices of five stocks rose, three declined and 12 ended unchanged at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, the Composite Index fell 4.65 points to 1,388.12, the All T&T Index dipped 5.11 points to 1,887.97 and the Cross-Listed Index fell 0.58 points to settle at 119.57.
Market activity ended with 38 percent fewer shares trading, with a 13 percent higher value than on Thursday, as 595,272 shares traded for $22,339,078 compared to 960,642 units at $19,848,307 on Thursday.
The average trade ended at 29,764 units for $1,116,954 down from 56,508 shares at $1,167,547 on Thursday. Trading month to date averages 53,379 units at $844,350 versus 56,985 units at $802,731. The average trade for May was 25,935 units for $406,593.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows two stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and no with lower offers.
At the close, Ansa Mcal ended at $57, with 11,000 shares changing hands, Ansa Merchant Bank rallied 50 cents and ended at a 52 weeks’ high of $41.50, with 20,100 stock units crossing the exchange, Clico Investment Fund traded 45,310 stocks at $26.99, First Citizens Bank fell 50 cents to $49.50 after trading 500 stock units. Calypso Macro Investment Fund exchanged 34 stock units at $16, FirstCaribbean International Bank popped 1 cent to $6.50, with 100 units crossing the exchange, Grace Kennedy settled at $5.25 after exchanging 125,560 shares, Guardian Holdings closed at $33.50 after 47,914 stocks changed hands. JMMB Group stayed at $1.81, trading 100,000 stock units, L.J Williams B shares lost 5 cents to end at $1.30 in swapping of 9,011 units, Massy Holdings traded 10,000 units $74.75.National Enterprises traded 9,000 shares at $3, National Flour Mills exchanged 804 stocks at $2.30, NCB Financial Group popped 1 cent to $8.26 in trading 14,587 shares. One Caribbean Media increased 5 cents to $4.65 while exchanging 213 stocks, Republic Financial Holdings traded 101,812 stock units at $135, Scotiabank settled at $57 while trading 28,782 stock units. Trinidad & Tobago NGL shed 15 cents to close at $17.85 in switching ownership of 31,159 stock units, Trinidad Cement increased 5 cents to close at $3.30 after an exchange of 33,310 stocks and West Indian Tobacco ended at $32.19 in trading 6,076 stocks.
