In trading, Cable and Wireless ended with 266,138 units changing hands at 43 cents, Caribbean Cement traded 75,396 shares to close at $7.45, JSE fn qts 31-7-15 Gleaner traded at $1.15 and gained 15 cents after 32,960 shares changed hands, Grace traded 7,830 shares unchanged at $64, Jamaica Broilers had 33,982 shares changing hands and 10 cents in closing at $5.70, National Commercial Bank had 456,187 shares trading while gaining 20 cents to end at $30. Sagicor Group ended trading with 22,661 units at $13, Scotia Group ended with 64,798 units trading with a loss of 41 cents at $23.66, Supreme Ventures with 102,651 shares traded at $3.30 for a decline of 25 cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share closed with 166,600 shares trading at $6.02.

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Market closed on Wednesday with 12 stocks rising, 8 declining as 29 securities changed hands with 6,830,260 units trading, valued at $85,544,632, in all market segments.
At the close, the JSE Market Index gained 122.39 points to 98,333.57, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index increased 136.80 points to close at 108,849.45 and the JSE combined index added 361.61 points to end at 100,639.26.

Pan Jamaican Investments closed at $61 after adding 95 cents to the price, with 581,167 shares, changing hands valued $36 million, Proven Investments had 81,763 shares trading at 20 US cents, Sagicor Group ended trading with 908,500 units at $13. Scotia Group traded 532,374 units to end 3 cents lower at $24.07, traded 20,812 units, 20 cents higher at $26.80, Seprod traded 15,045 shares lost 10 cents lower at $14.90 and Supreme Ventures with 26,000 shares traded at $3.60 for a rise of 25 cents.

Prices on the Jamaica Stock Exchange continued to reflect an almost even number of up and down movements in prices as the main market hoovers around support level which it has been at for a large part of June. A fall in the price of Scotia Group contributed to a sharp decline in the main market on Friday but the market closed looking stronger than at the ended on Thursday.
Trading concluded with 8 stocks rising, 8 declining as 22 securities changed hands, ended in 3,083,351 units trading, valued at $32,242,560 and 4 stocks closed at 52 weeks’ high in all market segments. Overall activity resulted in JSE Market Index declining 976.49 points to 98,050.05. The JSE All Jamaican Composite index lost 1,091.46 points to close at 108,532.55 and the JSE combined index fell 1,118.74 points to end at 100,321.85.

Jamaica Broilers had 48,938 shares changing hands at $5.75, National Commercial Bank in JSE fn-Qts 3-7-15trading 2,970 shares, closed with a fall of 80 cents at $29.10, Pulse Investments closed at a new 52 weeks’ high of 80 cents with 63,000 shares trading, to gain 10 cents. Sagicor Group ended with 682,573 shares trading, at a new closing 52 weeks’ high of $13.50, Scotia Group traded at $23.21, a fall $1.44 from Thursday’s close, with 812,616 shares and Supreme Ventures closed at $4 a new 52 weeks’ closing high, with 96,275 shares trading and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 798,388 units, but lost 1 cent to end at $2.99.

Prices on the Jamaica Stock Exchange continued in a positive mode on the second day of July, albeit not as strong as on the first, but it ended on a high, with Scotia Group climbing for the second day, after it posted gains of $1.25 on Wednesday. The movement in the banking group stock price, was again the main contributor to the rise of the main indices on Thursday.
The market closed with a large number of stocks showing softness suggesting that there could be large number of declines evens as advances may pick up from today’s levels.
Trading ended with 9 stocks rising, 5 declining as 23 securities changed hands and ending in 1,876,486 units trading, valued at $10,673,692 and 1 stock closed at 52 weeks’ high in all market segments.
The JSE Market Index declined 284.62 points to 99,026.54 the JSE All Jamaican Composite index gained 318.14 points to close at 109,624.01 but the JSE combined index rose 223.92 points to end at 101,440.59 thanks to gains in the junior market offsetting declines in the main market.

National Commercial Bank in trading 26,067 shares, to close higher by 86 cents at $29.90, Pan Jamaican rose 50 cents to $62 with 22,779 shares trading, the stock was mostly down on the day at $61.10. Sagicor Group with 20,883 units trading, ended unchanged at $13.01, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 80,000 units with a decline of 38 cents to $7.62 and Scotia Group that traded 106,740 shares to close at $24.94 to gain 43 cents but closed with the offer at $24.50. Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 649,316 to gain 2 cents at $3.

Kingston Wharves traded just 1,000 shares and shed 55 cents in closing at $6.60, JSE fn-Qts 1-7-15National Commercial Bank in trading 25,835 shares, to close unchanged at $29.04, Pan Jamaican Investment had 21,147 shares changing hands at $61.50, Pulse Investments traded at a new 52 weeks’ high of 70 cents after adding 15 cents with 9,000 shares trading. Proven Investments ended with 366,320 ordinary shares trading at 21.2 US cents, up from US$21, Sagicor Group gained just 1 cent with 147,788 units trading, to end at $13.01 after trading as high as $14.50, a new 52 weeks’ high and Scotia Group that traded 10,505 shares to close at $24.50 after trading at $25 and as low as $23.25 to gain $1.25.

In trading, Cable & Wireless had 200,000 units changing hands to close at 45 cents but looking better than for weeks with bid at 46 cents to buy 201,436 while the offers at 50 cents declined leaving only 315,000 units at the price. With the company reporting profits from operations of $186 million in the March quarter from revenues of $6 billion, the highest in a March quarter since 2007, investors may be quietly going after the stock. The company confirmed that the quarter had some business to business sales in the revenue figure which helped to push improvement up by 29 percent. JSE fn qts 30-6-15 Caribbean Cement had 131,225 units trading at $6 after adding 50 cents, Carreras gained 70 cents in trading just 2,382 shares to close at $49. Desnoes and Geddes traded at $7.55 with 54,724 shares, Gleaner ended with 65,885 shares changing hands to gain 11 cents, for a 52 weeks’ high of $1.40. Jamaica Broilers fell 59 cents in trading 7,410 units to end at $5.41, National Commercial Bank in trading 20,960 shares, to close at $29.04, Pan Jamaican Investment had 18,780 shares changing hands 50 cents higher at $61.50. Radio Jamaica ended with 124,000 shares trading at $3.50, Proven Investments ended with 51,900 ordinary share trading at 21 US cents, Sagicor Group gained 45 cents with 22,385 units trading, to end at $13, but had 1 million units on sale at $13 at the close and Proven 8% preference share traded 155,695 units at $5.

JSE off to slow start Monday

After 60 minutes of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, 14 securities traded with JSE Intra - 10.30 29-06-15.4 rising and 6 declining comprising a total volume of 519,320 shares changing hands, only 2 stocks have so far traded in the junior market with both declining.
The all Jamaican Composite index inched up 179.45 to 108,283.79 points, JSE Combined Index put on 84.53 to 100,321.40 points, JSE Index is now at 97,827.49 points after adding 160.54 points and Junior Market Index fell to 892.53, down by 7.37 points.
The most noticeable trades so far are KLE with a small volume but ended down to 65 cents the lowest price it has traded at to date, Gleaner Company with 5,600 units at $1.29 with a 10 cents gain, for a 52 weeks’ high and Sagicor Group traded at $13. Paramount Trading has a bid at $6 versus the last traded price of $5.11 as investors try to find where supply may be.

The changes in the market indices were very small with the JSE Market Index gaining just 13.43 points to 97,452.41, theJSE All Jamaican Composite index rising by 15.01 points to close at 107,864.54 but the JSE combined index declined by 4.07 points to end at 100,255.47.

Radio Jamaica closed with a gain of 30 cents to a new 52 weeks’ high of $3.50 with just 4,214 shares changing hands, Sagicor Group was up 55 cents with 191,448 units trading to end at $12.95, Sagicor Real Estate X Fund closed 1 cent higher at a new high of $8.01 after 4,000 shares were exchanged. Scotia Group had 95,808 units trading 10 cents higher at $23.25 and Scotia Investments traded 15,000 shares at $29.85 at the close.

Market suffers losses in early trading

With 75 minutes of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange the market indices fell JSE 1045- 12-6-15with a tone of bearishness in the air, a total of 11 stocks have declined and 7 are up.
There are three new 52 weeks’ highs with Caribbean Cream traded at an all-time high of $1.85, Sagicor Group and Jamaica Broilers traded at a new 52 weeks’ high of $12.50 and $5.75 respectively. The main market has so far had 17 stocks being active while 11 stocks have traded in the junior market, for a total of 28 securities, trading in the markets, accounting for 1.179 million shares.
TheJSE Market Index lost 388.63 points to 96,944.73 the JSE All Jamaican Composite index fell 431.42 points to close at 107,300.05 JSE combined index dropped 508.18 points to 99712.24 and the junior market index fell 15.64 to 917.13 points.
