Sagicor Financial closed at a 52 weeks’ high of $9.30 on the TTSE on Thursday.

Market activity on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange rebounded with all three indices advancing with 12 securities changing hands compared to 7 on Wednesday with 6 stocks advancing, 4 declining and 2 remaining unchanged.
Trading closed on Thursday after 675,112 shares were exchanged at a value of $4,134,604 compared to only 152,664 shares valued at $2,299,065 traded on Wednesday.
The Composite Index climbed 6.74 points to 1,237.29, the All T&T Index advanced 3.99 points to 1,828.22, still leaving it slightly lower that at the close of 2016 and the Cross Listed Index gained 1.30 points to 88.62 and is up 10.81 percent for 2017.

At the close, 4 stocks advanced, 2 declined and 4 were unchanged, resulting in 197,505 shares changing hands at a value of $1,350,912 compared to Monday’s 985,557 shares valued at $2,465,660.
The Composite Index gained 1.18 points to 1,230.48, the All T&T Index advanced 2.59 points to 1,825.75 and the Cross Listed Index lost 0.05 points to 85.08.

Guardian Holdings hits new high

Big Citizens Bank fall hits TTSE index

First Citizens dropped $1.50 in trading on TTSE on Wednesday.

A drop of $1.50 in the price of First Citizens Bank push the price to $32.50 with 5,000 units changing hands and was the main contributor to the fall in the Composite Index of the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Market activity resulted in 13 securities changing hands in contrast to 18 on Tuesday as 4 stocks advanced, 4 declined and 5 remained unchanged. A total of 810,839 shares valued at $3,882,754 were exchanged compared to Tuesday’s trades of 483,249 shares valued at $2,376,016.

TCL fall pulls TTSE market index down

Trinidad Cement shares suffer big fall.

A 35 cents rise in the price of Trinidad & Tobago NGL was insufficient to wade of the negative impact of a 50 cents drop in the price of Trinidad Cement in preventing slippage in the All T&T index on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday.
Market activity resulted in 15 securities traded, compared to 13 on Wednesday with 6 stocks advancing, 4 holding firm and 5 declining. The number of shares that changed hands amounted to 482,036 units valued at $3,773,912 compared to 95,386 shares valued at $2,016,084 on Wednesday.
At the close the Composite Index advanced 1.89 points to 1,223.91, thanks to gains in three Jamaican based stocks, the All T & T Index slid 3.19 points to 1,833.93 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.96 points to 82.15.

TCL at $5.50 as investors spurn Cemex

Trinidad Cement closed at a 52 weeks’ high on Friday.

Trinidad Cement share price hit a new high of $5.50 by rising 40 cents to a 52 weeks’ closing high of $5.50 with 88,796 transactions valued at $483,135 on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday.
At the close there was a bid to buy 1,924,850 units at $5.50, with only 122,886 units on offer at $5.60. The closing prices are the clearest message that investors are not impressed with the final offer price of $5.07 by Cemex. The closing price on Friday is still lower than the $5.60 to $6.18, Ernst and Young placed on the stock.
The market traded a mere 7 securities in contrast to 12 on Thursday leading to 5 stocks advancing, 2 holding firm and none declining. There were 182,914 units exchanged at a value of $736,886 compared to 382,443 shares valued at $3,889,464 on Thursday.
Trading ended with all three indices climbing to their highest, since the start of 2017. The Composite Index advanced 2.87 points to 1,219.86 points, the All T&T Index rose 2.40 points to 1,837.94 points and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.45 points to 80.49 points.
