Activity falls for Trinidad stocks

Market activity on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday resulted in 9 securities changing hands compared to 13 on Wednesday leading to 5 stocks advancing, 2 declining and 2 unchanged.
A total of 350,452 shares valued at $3,125,102 were exchanged compared to Wednesday’s trades of 810,839 shares valued at $3,882,754.
The Composite Index gained 1.83 points to 1,228.12, the All T&T Index advanced 2.31 points to 1,822.59 and the Cross Listed Index added 0.18 points to 84.87.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer ended with 7 stocks with bids higher than last selling prices and 6 with lower offers.
Gains| Clico Investment added 2 cents to close at $22.52 with 6,045 units traded, National Enterprises closed at $10.87, up 2 cents with 500 shares changing hands, Sagicor Financial advanced 25 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $9, having exchanged 42,500 shares valued at $382,500, Scotiabank gained 5 cents after trading 10,000 units valued at $587,448 to close at $58.75 and Trinidad & Tobago NGL climbed 40 cents to $22.51 with trades of 12,540 units.
Losses| First Citizens closed at $32.49, down 1 cent with 511 units being exchanged and JMMB Group lost 1 cent to close at $1.20 with 161,846 units changing hands.
Firm Trades| Guardian Holdings closed at $14 with 106,510 shares traded, valued at $1,491,141 and Trinidad Cement was unchanged at $4.15 after trading 10,000 shares.
