More than twice the number of securities changing hands in market activity on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday resulting from 16 trading compared to 7 on Tuesday as trading levels rose for the last two days.
At the close, 3 stocks advanced, 6 declined and 7 were unchanged as 256,519 shares traded at a value of $2,932,389 compared to Tuesday’s trades of only 58,067 units valued at a mere $755,391.
The Composite Index declined 1.10 points to 1,240.49, the All T&T Index remained at 1,791.21 and the Cross Listed Index was down 0.30 points to 92.63 points.

NCB Financial hits new record

NCB Financial Group reached a new high of $5 (J$95.50) in trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday with just 2,920 shares trading with a rise of 15 cents.
The stock closed with 6,830 units on the bid at $5. In overall market activity 14 securities changed hands compared to 12 on Thursday with 3 advancing, 2 declining and 9 holding firm. Trading volume rose over Thursday’s levels reaching 161,029 units at a value of $1,432,085 compared to Thursday’s trades of 102,642 valued at $2,263,862.

Ansa McAl controls 85% of trading

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday saw Ansa McAL controlling 85 percent of the market’s value of trading, following on the heels of its acquisition of more than 80 percent of Berger Paints Trinidad and announced its intention to advise of an offer to shareholders by August 23.
The market closed with 12 securities changing hands compared to 16 on Monday with 5 stocks advancing, 2 declining and 5 remaining unchanged. A total of 147,398 shares traded, valued at $6,520,927 compared to Monday’s trades of 632,284 units valued at $6,004,307.
The Composite Index advanced 0.92 points to 1,216.93, the All T&T Index added 0.01 point to 1,792.40 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.25 points to 86 points.

Massy was the most  dominant trade on Friday.
