MFS Capital drives Junior Market trading

MFS Capital Partners controlled 91 percent of the volume of stocks trading and 84 percent in value on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Monday, pushing the volume of stock traded up by 82, with a 183 percent greater value than on Friday with trading in 44 securities up from 38 on Friday and ending with prices of 13 rising, 18 declining and 13 closing unchanged, including one stock closing at a 52 weeks’ low and one at a 52 weeks’ intraday low.

The market closed with trading of 93,479,484 shares for $57,326,844 compared with 10,164,214 units at $20,268,746 on Friday.
Trading averaged 2,124,534 shares at $1,302,883 compared to 267,479 units at $533,388 on Friday with a month to date, average of 435,250 stock units at $572,778 compared with 253,961 units at $494,426 on the previous trading day and July with an average of 358,542 stock units at $736,760.
MFS Capital Partners led trading with 84.82 million shares for 90.7 percent of total volume followed by EduFocal with 4.52 million stock units for 4.8 percent of the day’s trade and Omni Industries with 1.53 million units for 1.6 percent of the day’s trade.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index declined 42.48 points to finish at 3,562.15.

Trading dips on the Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange continued the declining pattern set from the start of the month, with just two days of index gains as the market lost value again on Friday, following a 42 percent decline in the volume of stocks traded, with 52 percent lower value than Thursday with trading in 38 securities down from 42 on Thursday and ending with prices of 13 rising, 17 declining and eight closing unchanged.
Trading ended with an exchange of 10,164,214 shares for $20,268,746 compared with 17,444,446 units at $41,871,104 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 267,479 shares at $533,388 compared to 415,344 units at $996,931 on Thursday. Trading for the month to date, averages 253,961 stock units at $494,426 compared to 252,581 units at $490,446 on the previous day and an average of 358,542 units at $736,760 in July.
Dolla Financial led trading with 2.10 million shares for 20.7 percent of total volume followed by Jamaican Teas with 1.68 million units for 16.5 percent of the day’s trade and Mailpac Group with 895,692 stock units for 8.8 percent market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index lost 23.57 points to close at 3,604.63.

Declining stocks outdistance those rises at the close of the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the market eking out a modest rise following a 393 percent surge in the volume of stocks traded, with 525 percent greater value than Wednesday with trading in 42 securities up from 39 on Wednesday and ending with prices of 12 rising, 18 declining and 12 closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 17,444,446 shares for $41,871,104 compared with 3,536,843 units at $6,698,902 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 415,344 shares at $996,931 compared with 90,688 units at $171,767 on Wednesday. Trading for the month to date, averages 252,581 stocks at $490,446 compared with 231,865 stock units at $425,984 on the previous day and July with an average of 358,542 units at $736,760.
Dolla Financial led trading with 6.32 million shares for 36.2 percent of total volume followed by Regency Petroleum with 4.33 million stock units for 24.8 percent of the day’s trade and Jamaican Teas with 2.21 million units for 12.7 percent of the day’s trade.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index popped 4.11 points to conclude trading at 3,628.20.

Trading activity jumped on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with a 44 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, with 92 percent more value than Monday following trading in 39 securities compared with 41 on Monday and ending with prices of 20 rising, 12 declining and seven closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 12,699,115 shares for $31,583,992 compared with 8,838,672 units at $16,421,905 on Monday.
Trading averaged 325,618 shares at $809,846 compared to 215,577 units at $400,534 on Monday with the month to date, averaging 250,786 units for $460,054 compared with 239,205 stock units at $405,920 on the previous day and July that ended with an average of 358,542 units at $736,760.
Express Catering led trading with 5.01 million shares for 39.4 percent of total volume followed by EduFocal with 2.86 million units for 22.5 percent of the day’s trade and Dolla Financial with 2.04 million stock units for 16.1 percent of the total volume traded.

Twenty six stocks declined in trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday with just eight rising and seven closing unchanged with most of the movements being less than 5 cents, with market activity resulting in a 7 percent decline in the volume of stocks traded, with 50 percent more value than on Friday with trading in 41 securities compared with 42 on Friday. At the close of the market, Elite Diagnostic ended at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.38 after trading at an  52 weeks’ intraday low of $1.10, and ended with limited buying interest up to $1.10.

Omni Industries dominated trading activity on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Friday, with the largest block of shares changing hands leading to the overall volume for the market rising 13 percent, with a 38 percent fall in value compared to Thursday after trading in 42 securities, from 43 on Thursday and ending with prices of 12 rising, 21 declining and nine ending unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 9,533,159 shares for $10,940,443 compared with 8,408,303 units at $17,564,395 on Thursday.

Subpar trading on the JSE Markets

Trading remained subpar at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday with the volume of stocks traded climbing above Thursday’s level but with a lower value compared to the previous day, resulting in prices of 28 shares rising and 40 declining as the Junior Market and the JSE USD market closed lower and the Main market rose.
At the close of trading, the JSE Combined Market Index rose 956.54 points to close at 322,428.33, the All Jamaican Composite Index popped 206.89 points to finish at 350,796.43 and the JSE Main Index advanced 1,268.92 points to 309,959.00. The Junior Market Index dropped 36.42 points to 3,628.75 and the JSE USD Market Index shed 3.01 points to close at 221.81.
At the close of trading, 21,329,562 shares were exchanged in all three markets, up from 14,731,938 units on Thursday, with the value of stocks traded on the Junior and Main markets amounted to $42.33 million, just below the $43.08 million on the previous trading day and the JSE USD market closed with a surge in trading with an exchange of 861,865 shares for US$18,856 up from just 43,698 units at US$3,627 on Thursday.
In Main Market activity, Pulse Investments led trading with 5.95 million shares followed by Wigton Windfarm with 1.37 million stocks and Transjamaican Highway with 1.02 million shares.
In Junior Market trading, Omni Industries led trading with 6.52 million shares followed by JFP Ltd with 651,249 stocks and Jetcon Corporation with 316,386 units.
In the preference segment, Jamaica Public Service 9.5% skidded $1 to end at $2,699, 138 Student Living preference share surged $21.34 to end at $199.84 and Sygnus Credit Investments C10.5% popped $2.90 in closing at $107.90.

Jamaican Teas increased 15 cents to $2.45 with investors trading 400,001 shares, Lumber Depot sank 5 cents to close at $2.80 in an exchange of 3,014,929 units, Mailpac Group skidded 5 cents in closing at $2.10 with traders dealing in 191,937 stocks. Tropical Battery advanced 21 cents to finish at $2.38 in an exchange of 610,178 stock units and tTech declined 5 cents and ended at $2.01, with 14,765 shares crossing the market.

Falling Junior Market stocks edged rising ones

Declining stocks just edged out those gaining at the close of trading activity on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Wednesday, with a 66 percent drop in the volume of stocks traded, with a 69 percent lower value than Monday with trading in 45 securities compared with 41 on Monday and ending with prices of 16 rising, 18 declining and 11 closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 6,412,654 shares at $9,912,225 down from 18,591,727 units at $31,607,835 on Monday.
Trading averaged 142,503 shares at $220,272 compared with 453,457 stock units at $770,923 on Monday, with trading  month to date, averaging 265,868 units at $455,278 compared to 334,404 stock units at $585,837 on the previous day and July with an average of 358,542 units at $736,760.
Omni Industries led trading with 2.17 million shares for 33.8 percent of total volume followed by Regency Petroleum with 1.63 million stocks for 25.4 percent of the day’s trade and EduFocal with 306,321 units for 4.8 percent market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index dropped 4.35 points to close at 3,684.38.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 12.2, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for the financial years ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.

Dolphin Cove dipped $1.28 to $21.32 with a transfer of 222 units, Express Catering advanced 68 cents to end at $4.19, with 69,064 stocks crossing the market, Fontana lost 9 cents in closing at $8.15 after a transfer of 11,911 shares. Honey Bun rose 10 cents and ended at $8.75 as investors exchanged 6,454 stocks, Image Plus gained 7 cents to finish at $1.80, with 7,000 units clearing the market, Indies Pharma skidded 23 cents to close at $2.46 in an exchange of 55,634 stock units. ISP Finance sank 25 cents to $24.75 with traders dealing in 2,296 shares, Jamaican Teas popped 5 cents to close at $2.30 in switching ownership of 5,031 stocks, JFP Ltd slipped 5 cents to 95 cents after an exchange of 266,000 units. Main Event rallied 96 cents to finish at $11.99 in trading 767 stock units, Omni Industries increased 10 cents and ended at 96 cents with 2,170,393 shares crossing the exchange, Regency Petroleum dropped 19 cents to end at $2.20 with investors trading 1,627,087 stocks. Spur Tree Spices fell 7 cents to $1.98 after an exchange of 75,036 units and Stationery and Office Supplies popped 5 cents to close at $1.70 after trading 1,085 stock units.
