Trading activity dropped on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Friday, with a 43 percent decline in the volume of stocks traded, valued 46 percent less than Thursday’s activities with trading in 40 securities, down from 45 on Thursday and ending with prices of 13 rising, 12 declining and 15 closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 9,139,069 shares for $21,594,905 compared with 16,085,055 stock units at $39,911,900 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 228,477 shares at $539,873 compared to 357,446 units at $886,931 on Thursday with the month to date, averaging 586,188 stocks at $948,774 compared to 621,430 shares at $989,060 on the previous day and with August that averaged 389,714 units at $570,529.
Indies Pharma led trading with 3.54 million shares for 38.7 percent of total volume followed by Future Energy with 809,371 units for 8.9 percent of the day’s trade and RA Williams with 643,741 stocks for 7 percent market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index slipped 5.71 points to end at 3,629.29.

Lasco Financial fell 13 cents in closing at $1.60 after trading of 81,363 stocks, Limners and Bards slipped 18 cents to close at $1.32 after an exchange of 16,090 units, Main Event rallied $1.72 to finish at $14.14 with a transfer of 2,578 stock units. Spur Tree Spices gained 18 cents to $2.13 with 458,322 shares changing hands, Stationery and Office Supplies lost 10 cents to close at $1.58 with investors trading 548,510 stocks and Tropical Battery declined 10 cents to finish at $2.30 with an exchange of 244,785 units.

Big drop for Junior Market

Trading activity jumped on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Thursday, with a 49 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, with a 44 percent greater value than on Wednesday with trading in 45 securities up from 42 on Wednesday and ending with prices of 15 rising, 18 declining and 12 closing unchanged.
The market closed with 16,085,055 shares being traded with a value of $39,911,900 from 10,763,988 units at $27,787,511 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 357,446 shares at $886,931 in comparison  to 256,285 stocks at $661,607 on Wednesday, with trading ending with a month to date average of 621,430 stock units at $989,060 compared with 654,337 shares at $1,001,790 on the previous day and August with an average of 389,714 units at $570,529.
Indies Pharma led trading with 12.11 million shares for 75.3 percent of total volume followed by Paramount Trading with just 575,018 units for 3.6 percent of the day’s trade and Dolla Financial with 499,885 stocks for 3.1 percent market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index dropped 63.58 points to close at 3,635.00.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange pulled back from the b rally yesterday and ended with a mild decline on Wednesday, resulting from trading in 42 securities compared to 43 on Tuesday and ending with prices of 16 rising, 20 declining and six closing unchanged with aa 76 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded valued 31 percent more than Tuesday.
The market closed with trading of 10,763,988 shares for $27,787,511 compared with 6,132,229 units at $21,170,720 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 256,285 shares at $661,607 compared to 142,610 stock units at $492,342 on Tuesday with the month to date, averaging 654,337 stocks at $1,001,790 compared to 706,745 shares at $1,046,579 on the previous day and for August that averaged 389,714 units at $570,529.
RA Williams led trading with 2.13 million shares for 19.8 percent of total volume followed by Fontana with 1.49 million stocks for 13.8 percent of the day’s trade, Dolla Financial was next with 1.41 million units for 13.1 percent market share, MFS Capital Partners chipped in with 1.35 million shares for 12.5 percent of stocks traded and EduFocal with 1.06 million units for 9.8 percent of total volume.

Trading averaged 263,325 shares at $594,291 up robustly from 123,125 stock units at $168,378 on Friday with the month to date, averaging 794,636 units at $1,132,928 down from 900,898 stocks at $1,240,655 on the previous day and well above August with an average of 389,714 units at $570,529.
Future Energy led trading with 4.70 million shares for 38.8 percent of total volume followed by RA Williams with 3.03 million units for 25.1 percent of the day’s trade and JFP Ltd with 903,993 stock units for 7.5 percent market share.

Trading averaged 123,125 shares at $168,378 compared with 202,260 stock units at $305,144 on Thursday with a month to date, average of 900,898 stock units at $1,240,655 compared with 1,100,653 stocks at $1,516,049 on the previous day and August with an average of 389,714 units at $570,529.

All JSE markets gained on Friday

All markets of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed higher to usher the week end with trading levels plunging from Thursday’s bounteous trades resulting in just over $53 million worth of stocks traded and ending with prices of 29 shares rising and 42 declining.
At the close of trading, the JSE Combined Market Index climbed 94.80 points to close at 317,457.34, the All Jamaican Composite Index advanced 1,262.85 points to end at 347,280.42 and the JSE Main Index popped 14.57 points to 304,502.89. The Junior Market Index rose 11.26 points to settle at 3,663.01 and the JSE USD Market Index gained 2.64 points to end at 234.78.
At the close of trading, 13,107,754 shares were exchanged in all three markets, down from 55,750,243 units on Thursday, with the value of stocks traded on the Junior and Main markets amounted to just $53.2 million, well gained below the $1.198 billion on Thursday and the JSE USD market closed with an exchange of 166,468 shares for US$7,387 compared to 1,036,413 units at US$22,525 on Thursday.
In Main Market activity, Transjamaican Highway led trading with 1.53 million shares followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 1.12 million units and Wigton Windfarm with 999,513 stocks.
In Junior Market trading, A Williams led trading with 3.10 million shares followed by Stationery and Office Supplies with 517,576 units and Omni Industries with 411,289 stocks.
In the preference segment, no stock traded with a notable price change.

Big jump for Junior Market

Trading activity closed with an 85 percent drop in the volume of stocks traded, with an 87 percent lower value than Tuesday with trading in 45 securities cup from 44 on Tuesday and ending with prices of 15 rising, 17 declining and 13 unchanged.

Falling stocks dominate Junior Market

Falling stocks overwhelm those rising by a 2 to 1 margin at the close of the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, with trading in 44 securities down from 48 on Monday with prices of 25 declining, 12 rising and seven closing unchanged, following a 77 percent decline in the volume of stocks traded, with 63 percent lower value than Monday.
The market closed more positively with Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator showing 11 stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and just two with lower offers.
The market closed with trading of 35,215,476 shares for $68,762,241 down from 151,649,060 stock units at $185,872,180 on Monday, as no stock replaced the big 145 million shares trade in Omni Industries on Monday.
Trading averaged 800,352 shares at $1,562,778 compared with 3,159,355 units at $3,872,337 on Monday with the month to date, averaging 2,031,136 units at $2,767,765 compared to August with an average of 389,714 units at $570,529.
Regency Petroleum led trading with 18.17 million shares for 51.6 percent of total volume followed by Derrimon Trading with 7.36 million stock units for 20.9 percent of the day’s trade, RA Williams with 3.49 million stock units for 9.9 percent market share and Paramount Trading with 1.85 million units for 5.3 percent of total volume.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index fell 53.62 points to 3,592.50.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 12.2, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
At the close of the market, Access Financial skidded $1.84 to $18.96 after an exchange of 47 stocks, CAC 2000 lost 11 cents to $1.98 with 28,919 units crossing the market, Caribbean Cream dipped 39 cents to close at $3.06 with traders dealing in a mere 722 shares. Derrimon Trading fell 23 cents to finish at $1.80 with 7,358,165 stock units crossing the market, Elite Diagnostic slipped 12 cents and ended at $1.61 after trading 13,583 shares, Express Catering popped 20 cents to end at $4 with investors dealing in 96,114 stocks. Fosrich sank 15 cents in closing at $2.25 with 74,173 units changing hands, GWest Corporation shed 11 cents to 97 cents with an exchange of 4,689 stock units, Honey Bun rallied 85 cents to end at $8.35 with 11,357 shares changing hands. Jamaican Teas increased 10 cents to finish at $2.35 with investors swapping 229,120 stocks, Limners and Bards declined 29 cents and ended at $1.22 after a transfer of 32,901 units, Lumber Depot edged 11 cents lower to close at $2.84 as investors exchanged 598,594 stock units. MFS Capital Partners dropped 10 cents to 60 cents with 23,462 shares clearing the market, Regency Petroleum shed 13 cents in closing at $2.37 after an exchange of 18,170,970 stock units and Stationery and Office Supplies lost 10 cents to close at $1.60 with investors trading 133,363 units.
